A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
nkit, Austrian Peter, and Steve C.
Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.
We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.
Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.
We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.
A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.
We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.

24 Caprices for Solo Violin Op. 1
I wanted to return to the beautiful violin playing of Ayako Ishikawa who we featured earlier this year. (5-16-21). I will spare you all the bio on this lovely lady, and get straight to the music.
We’ll get this started with Ayako playing the 24th and final Caprice by Niccolo Paganini.
Niccolò Paganini (27 October 1782 – 27 May 1840) was an Italian violinist, violist, guitarist, and composer. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique.
His 24 Caprices for Solo Violin Op. 1 are among the best known of his compositions and have served as an inspiration for many prominent composers.

Next, she plays “Winter” by Antonio Vivaldi.
Somewhere, Vivaldi is smiling.

Staying with the Stradivarius she plays Demon Slayer “Homura” (Lisa)
Summer
We’ll return to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and hear her play “Summer.”
Goose House
We’ll end this with Ayako playing her cover of “Goose House.”
A very pretty piece it is.
I hope you have enjoyed her violin playing today.
Thanks for listening in.

Heaven help us…
THANKS VERY MUCH for your superb efforts here Sir.
The enormous complexity and difficulty of the Paganini piece, executed so well with the musicic writing
window is a great find. The violin work here is superb.
Have not heard the Vivaldi pieces for a long time and they are a special treat!
Vivaldi is one of my go-to composers, and The Four Seasons is my favorite of his.
Guillaume Benoliel. What an incredible talent. At 6 I was barely out of the eating dirt stage.
Thank you for sharing. The joy in Guillaume’s smile is immeasurable.
Paganini is a treat. His complexity is highlighted in this Season 10 of American Horror Story, where a little girl wants to play his work flawlessly, and will go to any lengths to make it happen.
See you next week.
It’s folks such as the three of you above that help to keep this show on the road. Thanks so very much…really..
