You Bastards

Elihu Grant – American Greatness – December 27, 2021

My status as a second-class citizen was brought home to me on a beautiful May afternoon, while working on my laptop at a local coffee shop. With that discovery came the recognition that I would have to move out of the city I had called home for nearly two decades.

Eighteen years ago, I arrived in Washington, D.C. as a Republican political appointee, and fell in love with the capital’s cultural and historic attractions—often playing tour guide over the years for visiting friends and relatives. I moved out this summer in disgust, dismay, and anger.

The café near my condo where I liked to sit outside on nice days lost in charm what it gained in trash and rodents when several derelicts installed themselves as a permanent feature of the adjacent sidewalk last year. The squatters become the de facto owners of that public space—a phenomenon that now extends throughout most of the city.

My epiphany came this spring when I looked up from my Macbook and Americano to find a homeless man, sucking a bottle of cheap brandy and blaring music at top volume from his Bluetooth speaker, obviously delighted that he was disturbing the café customers and knowing that no one—least of all the enlightened coffee shop owners—would confront him.

As I was deciding whether to leave, another homeless person farther away, a large and obviously mentally ill woman, took off her pants and began to wipe down her private parts with a newspaper, just steps from the curb with cars and buses rushing by. The police arrived shortly thereafter, conferred with the woman performing her toilette al fresco, and then departed after doing precisely nothing. Well, most likely they filled out some forms and filed some reports, which is what passes nowadays for doing something.

Washington, D.C. was not then, nor it is now, a completely lawless town. If I had invited some friends to enjoy a bottle of wine with me while sprawled on the sidewalk, the police would surely have threatened us with a ticket, at least, if we didn’t shut down our party. The cops know perfectly well that confronting middle-class white people won’t result in getting screamed at, spit on, or stabbed. So they are happy to pluck low-hanging fruit by enforcing the law against compliant people with jobs. The net effect is that the overlapping network of drug-addicts, schizophrenics and psychotics, petty criminals, and street people enjoy rights and privileges that are rigorously denied to the rest of us.

I lived in DC, Penn at 21st, about 30 years ago, it was a fun town. Wouldn’t set foot in the place now.

Another of the so common complaints of “I did everything I was supposed to, and all I got was this bag of (hobo) shit”.

This rant is a common one heard from people when reality inevitably intrudes on their world view.
Reality is not static, neither should a world view be.
The writer describes all the conditions of a societal collapse, but refuses to recognize them for what they are.

I’m not sure what can be done at this point.

You will do nothing except flee to another area providing a semblance of your world view;
my decision to move to a deep-red town about 90 minutes outside the city
as will most.

It is common in collapse, even the Romans fled the cities in the final days.
The incompetence of government races ahead as its employees are selected not for some minimal competence, but for skin tone or sexual proclivity.

For the creative minded, opportunity abounds.

What you’re describing is a nation wide issue not entirely limited to urban areas. My formerly pleasant suburb in the Bay Area is being over run by the homeless. Tents are not just in city parks, but in vacant lots everywhere. In my opinion this could be resolved quickly and permanently. But I doubt today’s American would have the stomach for it.

And to think how fun DC used to be when high up congress critters like Wilbur Mills were out and about around town.

Dan Rostenkowski went on to getting busted for drunk driving…..he blamed it on having too much fun at a class reunion..Rosty also got busted for corruption in the House Post Office scandal….so the stench of the swamp isn’t anything new.
I remember the Wilbur Mills incident well and the look on his wife’s face as he fell in disgrace.

Fanne Fox used her meager skills to make a few bucks in the porn industry of that time period.

When the insane are allowed to live on the streets instead of being cared for in an institutional setting, it shows the callous disregard that people have for human life.

“Eighteen years ago, I arrived in Washington, D.C. as a Republican political appointee…”
Could have been a democrat. As far as I read, (sadly, filled to the brim with BS) ALL the characters mentioned were in reality ‘political appointees’, It’s just that some of the ‘appointed’ are more equal than others.

TPTB expect The Fauci Shot and it’s mRNA with cancer/madcow/and AIDS genes ( and Graphene Oxide) will solve what they think is a population problem but I believe it will end up being as destructive to America as the Civil War (1861) that the GOP engineered, and TPTB are engineering anew now. The real problem is within the spirits of the Oligarchs/Elite Evil Rulers of Industry and Governments (Ep6:12), described in 2Tim3, Rev 21 etc. Let’s make a joyful noise like blowing the proverbial trumpets at Jericho (ref Rumble.com “We are the 99%”). PS: TPTB are bringing their own temple pillars down taking fertilizer from $400/ton last year, to $600/ton this Spring, to $1,000/ton now; peasants won’t even be able to afford cake pretty soon.

Studies performed at top schools show that a diet directly incorporating both invertebrates and soil is nutritionally superior to a ‘traditional American diet’.

I have to admit, I have always thought of Anarcho tyranny as a weapon used with design against specific groups or political dissidents. But perhaps it is an inevitable byproduct of parasites burrowing deeper while doing whatever is necessary to protect their paychecks?

It’s like mold on a week old doughnut.

He came to DC as a political appointee, yet he titles his rant “YOU bastards.”

Off topic, who cares, about 2-1/2 minutes until 2022. tRump, go away. Other than that, uh, don’t come to Texas. In the 70’s a bumper sticker, Welcome To Texas. Now Go Home”. It was real polite. HNY
