QOTD: WHY DOESN’T RUSSIA BUILD IT’S OWN SUPERPOWER ECONOMIC SYSTEM?

Question of the Day Submitted by GNL

Oil price rises again as buyers shun Russian crude - BBC News

If Russia has an abundance of natural resources including the most important (oil), why wouldn’t they simply choose to use that oil in-house to become an economic powerhouse? I can see why the middle east can’t become an economic powerhouse since the only other resource they have is an unlimited amount of sand. What can you make with sand, glass?
So, the question is, why doesn’t Russia just stick to themselves and build their own superpower economic system?

I hate to be the one to have to break it to you, WIP, but the reason is because all people do not possess the same intelligence, customs, and skill sets. America is unique. We took the most adventurous of Europeans, brought them over here, turned them loose to innovate, allowed them to keep the fruits of their labor and daring, and it was a smashing success. Unparalleled anywhere else in the world. Russia is a country with enormous natural resources. So is Nigeria. The British set up the colonial system for good reasons. If you spent any time in the Caribbean you would understand how badly they miss it

We’ve allowed the third world to invade us. Okay. Maybe we needed the labor to replace the children we have killed in the womb. We have taken it a step too far. Sold them government-subsidized college credentials, and assumed that would allow them to replace the Brain Trust that built the United States. Has lead to the the collapse of almost all of our systems. At some point we’re going to have to grade the results of this experiment. And make some major adjustments. It has to be done. And it’s not going to be pretty

It is very hard for me to believe Russians do not have the brain power. Your comment is a very good one and makes a lot of sense. What if the Russians simply allowed the same adventurism? Would they get a similar result? What is holding them back from becoming adventurous?

Communism. When there is no reward for supernatural effort, you won’t get it. And it takes that kind of effort to get anything done, much less something big.

Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa… Why was the Brazilian president visiting Putin days before invading Ukraine? Why is China and Brazil staying neutral and refusing to condemn Putin?

It’s been said that, back around the Middle Ages, one group of people were being bought and sold on such a huge scale that they gave their group name to all of the slav(es). Their resultant paranoia(or call it lack of trust) makes it impossible to ignore their neighbors, and makes them want to control surrounding countries so it won’t happen again.
Just one of the ills of slavery – while you can remove the metal chains from a freed slave, you cannot remove the mental chains they keep on themselves. That they have to do themselves, and it seems that not many are successful at it.
Now observe the results of that on a nationwide basis.
There may come a day, but it won’t be in my lifetime.

Russia doesn’t need to for the same reason the Amish do not need to. The Amish trade organic food and excellent craftsmanship for everything they need. They live in self-sufficient compounds that are not run down and falling apart. As a matter of fact, if you didn’t know that these were Amish homes, you’d think that they were vanity farms owned by billionaires.

In a few months, when the world is starved for both food and energy, China will gladly give the Russians all the Superpower High-tech that they could want.

Finally, some people are smart enough to not play that game. The reason Afghanistan is so hard to conquer is because they fight you from the 7th Century. You could just about guarantee the destruction of the United States by shutting off the internet. Turning off the power would kill 90% of us. Turning off the power wouldn’t harm the Russians in the same way it doesn’t harm the Amish.

The Amish are far from a 100% barter group economy Nickel. They need USD’s just like everyone else.

I live in an area teeming with Amish. Everyone gets ripped off by them once. They are not the stereotype portrayed in movies. They are inbred gypsies wearing old time clothing.

Amish are not gypsies Arizona, what kind of shit is that? Amish built my house, My cabinets were custom made from cherry plank wood and are far nicer than the production crap at Home Depot. I got a buck fifty for every USD dealing I have had with the Amish and the same guy that built my doomstead house is also the shopkeep at the Amish grocery/hardware/farm supply/furniture down the road about three miles. I do business with him all the time.

Because 40% of all the Russian wealth/assets belong to 100 mafia oligarchs. They need a huge war chest and they need their gold for insurance, that’s why.

I have no idea, really.

But, here’s an article that suggests the sanctions on Russia will lead to de-dollarization and along with the new alliance with China that Russia may well be on the way to becoming a helluva lot more economically powerful.

=========

“Follow the money: how Russia will bypass western economic warfare”

“The US and EU are over-reaching on Russian sanctions. The end result could be the de-dollarization of the global economy and massive commodity shortages worldwide.”

The BRIC nations are solidly in alignment. That is 40% of the world population and the fastest growing economies. It’s coming.

The US, EU, and 5 eyes nations are deeply in debt and in decent. All have debt approaching 100% or more of GDP.

Their weather has got to be one of the reasons. It gets damned cold and stays that way for a long time, making it harder to do just about anything.

Corruption is likely also a big reason.

A smart country would partner with them to help them take advantage of their vast natural resources, but the west has chosen to make them the boogeyman for many, many years. Xi sees their resources and is jealous, but there are thousands of years of distrust between China and Russia.

Corruption – there was a business group who wanted to build a hydroelectric dam in Albania. The government there insisted on really large bribes to get permission, so the group said nope.
This could have increased the wealth and well-being of most Albanians, so the govt would have gotten at least that much in taxes over the long haul but there was too much “what’s in it for me NOW” thinking.
Mexico has been likened to a beggar sitting on a sack of gold – lots of resources and hard working people, but too many politicians getting graft to let the country go forward.

Russia and China have a new agreement to trade with each other with a new “petrodollar.” They are opening the trade alliance to other interested countries.

Two if by sea.

The question is being answered in the affirmative as I write. Russia now has the ability to finance itself all ways to Sunday ranging from the monetization of gold to all things lesser.
Davos and bankers had it easy till now.

Everyday, 15 trillion in financial business is done in NYC. That is just NYC, Russia needs to partner up as they are nowhere near that league and every country they will partner with will get Uncle Sugar’s foot up their ass.

Russia’s stock market just went tits up.

ds/cabal banksters are panicking and expect a real crash. so are low level banks. BRICS are trying something new already. Russia and some others went anti-fragile already. the dollar is being inflated to zero value. Russia will come back quickly. Some folks need to secede from MSM and the idea that ds/cabal have been mismanaging all this for our benefit.

China has cut the lifeline to Russia. China put sanctions against Russia and is now looking for new suppliers of coal. They also failed to vote in favor of Russia in the UN Security Council and instead abstained and embarrassed Russia. China even went so far as to urge Russia to make peace with the Ukraine.

BRICS will be more like BRIS.

This comes from India, one of the BRICS. Start at 1:34 and you will see that china’s banks will not lend to buy Russian commodities (including coal they DESPERATELY NEED), China’s banks are government owned so to me that is a backdoor sanction.

Corruption that makes the Mafia look like children. Russia has the most/best rangeland in the world. When was the last time you saw a Russian ribeye? Corruption creates a lot of friction in an economic system.

Same in Australia, The Great Australian Bight toward Esperance and out to sea, has more oil than OPEC could ever dream. same I suspect off Alaska. How do we Know, Oil is a heat sink and satellites can pin point hot spots. This one is Huge.
It is a game of Brinkmanship over need.

Also Australia has more hard coal and other trinkets, just below the surface than anywhere in the World, Russia maybe has more but this is proven…., Only in one state that takes 4 days to drive up you find this…https://www.cordellconnect.com.au/public/project/onlineProjects.aspx?category=&subcategory=Open+cut+mining%2C+Overburden%2C+Draglines&statefull=Queensland&region=&sub=2811&state=QLD
