Amen … especially a 4th rate law school that was the functional equivalent of a Caribbean medical school.

I applied to a white shoe firm where the senior partner’s name on the door was also that of the head of the school’s board of trustees … and he sent me a (form) letter stating that the education I got at that school didn’t meet the minimum qualifications for his firm.

Going out with Julie not one,not two, but…….,three times!

I was also going to marry her.

She was drop dead gorgeous/a lot of fun just to hang with/and when I took her for her first time kayaking she hit the water like a water otter, loaned her my very tipsy/hard to control kayak the next day and she was a pro with it.

I know at this point you are asking ,well James…..,what went wrong.

She was absolutely in a beautiful way completely off the wall insane/we are talking friggin nut case from hell!

I easily envisioned her slicing my throat while I slept at night!

She wanted to try yet again a fourth time but said though you own me to a degree mentally and broke my heart, that said, you may not have my soul!

Hmmmmm……,perhaps me worst mistake was not trying again, will always wonder.

I am also 69. My dad was going to co-sign for me to buy a farm, but I wanted to go to college first. Farm was $250,000 and four years later after college it changed hands again for over $1,000,000. I did not farm, but a lot of my friends “lost the farm” in the crash in the early 1980’s. So you probably would have lost it too, if that helps.

Not leaving the US in summer 2017 immediately,
when I realized the libtards would never get over and accept Trump’s presidency, meaning the complete collapse of US society (and, by extension, all Western vassal societies) could not be prevented anymore.

I thought a year or two wouldn’t make a difference.
Boy, was I wrong.

Only a few politicians in our modern era have not been a part of the Global Cabal. Kennedy and Reagan were shot, shows they were not part of the Cabal. The media’s hatred of Trump shows he may have not been all in on the global program. Point is. Our choices for president have been very limited. Almost all global Cabal plants. It’s been a matter of bad and very bad. Obama was all in on the globalism. But McCaine was also their puppet.

Continuing my formal education past the 8th grade. When I was in middle school my mom allowed me to choose between homeschooling or public school. During the 7th grade I spent the year homeschooling which really meant studying mathematics, history, and Spanish while watching soap operas. While I enjoyed teaching myself and not going to school I was completely cut off from the outside world and socially isolated. So I went back to school the next year but taking a full year off of school freed me from the mental prison and I no longer fit in anyway.

I spent my junior and senior year of high school ditching school until I finally dropped out altogether. Knowing what I know now, I was WAY ahead of the times at the age of 13 because I got my first taste of freedom from the system. Unfortunately, for a teenager not fitting in and not conforming is a very bad thing when everybody is hypnotized by the American dream. I wasted so much of my life trying to play catch up in a system I should’ve never tried to return to.

I swear, Stephanie, you and my son share so much of the same generational angst (am not sure that is the correct word.)

I just spent about 12 hours total (round trip) in my trusty little 2009 Hyundai Tucson 5-speed. He doesn’t drive it very well, so after the third time he killed the engine at a stop sign, I made him pull over and took the wheel. I literally asked him how a grown man who can focus on solving computer programming problems for hours every day can’t get it that you release the clutch as you press the gas, not one or the other.

We agreed to not speak for another stretch of road and got over it. I think that is what people really need to learn to do about a lot of things, but there are some we never really get over.

I was the original helicopter mother, I think, but that is because a bad thing happened when he was five that I never got over until he, well, I guess I’m still not over it, but we are getting there.

Something happened to schools during your generation in particular, Stephanie. I think my son is a couple years younger than you (28), but his interests parallel yours in ways that make me go “hmmmm.”

For example, during the drive he would play me a variety of Reddit clips and videos about GameStop and some protocol company called Loop Ring and that is probably not the name but it is what I hear when he says it now. Then, he told me the short sellers were after Bed, Bath and Beyond and that is when I got interested. I loved that store. Those bastards.

And I understand the Generational Theory of the Fourth Turning much better now that he is an adult and his personality traits are more fully developed. But, his interest in “crypto” programming comes with a number of lectures on decentralization of not only the financial industry but the decentralization of society itself. To which I replied… like how?

So, Stephanie, if you understand why the peer-to-peer protocol is a threat to all government, please explain it to me in a way that I might understand it because when my son talks to me, I hear Loop Ring, I think about Sonic the Hedge Hog and when I mention it to him, he gets angry because I’m not listening to what he is telling me I need to know about banks.

He is a believer in digital wallets.

I am a believer in thirty aught six and forty caliber. And silver.

That pretty much explains the generational gap from Boomer to Millennial. He even said “God, Mom! You are such a Boomer” when I was trying to get a password on Twitch that would work.

Apparently M@&&!3&@R and other similar substitutions on other common terms or names are obvious. Duh.

I am a Boomer. But, I’m a retired boomer in the suburbs of the sticks outside Podunk, Nowhere and he lives in a crap apartment in Cape Girardeau so he can have wi-fi.

Who’s the idiot?

March 7, 2022 6:49 pm

Well, your son and I are very different because I can drive a 5 speed with no problems. Granted I did burn out the 20 year old clutch when I first learned how to drive stick shift which my Dad never lets me forget. It took him and his buddy 12 hours and a 24 pack of beer (payment for their service) to fix it. They claim it took so long because it was corroded and burnt in (whatever that means) but I think it was 2 hours of work an 10 hours of bullshitting around. Thank God I didn’t agree to pay them by the hour.

I still think crypto and blockchain are interesting but they’re never going to apply to macro economics. Crypto runs off electricity which is derived from oil which is bought with petrodollars. As long as the petrodollar exists we’ll never know how effective or ineffective crypto will be as a money system. I think crypto applied to specific industries would be a good idea.

I really think GME could do a lot of interesting things with crypto because it could be used for in-game purchases. NFTs could really take off within gaming because MMORPG gamers used to sell hard to acquire equipment/accessories/weapons/currency in the game on ebay for a profit. If I’m remembering correctly Steve Bannon drew the ire of the gaming community back in the day because he (with the help of Peirce Brock) were some of the first people to set up a way to monetize World of Warcraft this way. So there is a way to use crypto and NFTs but it’s not practical to replace the petrodollar with crypto alone.

1986…Jumping off a 65 foot cliff into a lake the second time. Was sober the first jump…went in like a knife at ramrod attention.

Was stupid drunk five hours later and hit horribly wrong during the second dusk plunge…the x-rays shocked the orthopedic doctor the next day. I had separated cartridge on both knees…took forever to heal…and I had to scoot around on my butt for two weeks before I could wobbly even walk…did the monkey walk from side to side for weeks…when I could finally even stand.

Just before me and two buddies left to go cliff jumping…my wife had emphatically warned me not to get hurt as I had a history of ER visits (mostly from softball) reminding me I was getting too old to keep the daredevil stunts up (I was 36). I laughed…beat my chest and did my best Tarzan yell as we iced the beer in two coolers.

Same here. I married my high school sweetheart at the ripe old age of 18. I took her from a very disfunctional family and married a very disfunctional woman. Of course I later learned that my family wasn’t exactly Ozzie and Harriet either. So, the train left the station and became a major train wreck 9 years and 2 kids later. I am now, however, happily married for 29 years.

Did you go to Cairo High School in Georgia? When I applied there in 1983, the Principal (Wayne Tootle) asked me what I could teach. I proudly said any math or science because I have a BS in Math & Physics from FSU and Biology from VSC, and a couple others. He said what can you coach? I was a sprinter on the HS track team. He said: “We don’t need no physics here; we got a girl graduating Georgia Southern in two years you understand?”. Judging by most staff, she was probably a quota Black. My daughter became their Salutatorian (beaten by the Doctor’s son) but her science teacher was also her French teacher and I don’t think that woman ever had a college science class. The Biology teacher was arrested for making obscene calls to women. I saw my first computer chip in Electronics School 1972 and I didn’t realize I was looking at the death of electronic repair as we knew it.

She’s not ready for a pic of a FOUR year old? A BRONZE Aryan four year old? Oy veh….

As to the topic at hand…je ne regrette rien! Rien! La Vie arrive, et la merde arrive aussi. Considering all the stunts I pulled and the shite I stirred and the hell I rose, I’m grateful to be alive…and kicking. Me motto is: Cherrio me deario….there’s a dance in the old girl yet….
One of her
feet was frozen
but on the other three
she began to caper and
dance singing its
cheerio my deario
that pulls a lady
through her morals may
have been mislaid somewhere
in the centuries boss but
i admire her spirit
…………………archy

I’m sure you charmed the islanders. They probably loved touching your hair. I remember going to Mexico at a very young age and the Mexicans loved touching my hair. I thought it was strange.

I have a buddy who was a computer programmer.
He said there is a really innovative company just starting,
you should by some of their stock. I’m thinking,
great another Atari, who is going to compete with Microsoft
which was just taking off. The stock was a few bucks a share.
I’ll let you guess who I ignored.

I’ll have to think about that because nothing obvious
springs to mind, but the photo of that baboon with
a stick made me laugh out loud.

Not finishing the 1,200 pages of draft I wrote back in the 1990s into a finished novel. First refined 100 pages were as good as anything Vonnegut could produce, then got married and went back to work in oil business. Wife didn’t like me working on it in spare time as much as I had been and it just kind of petered out. In fact, wife didn’t like me having any spare time. It’s been sitting unfinished in my book case for 23 years now. Maybe should get Admin to publish it for shits and giggles.

Full confession, I have a complete outline for a screenplay of the life snd times of Kit Carson. I have written the first 3 scenes.
That was 10 years ago….life gets in the way.

Tough call. Worst decisions mostly have to do with women or money or motorcycles. Very tough call… so many to choose from. At 73 it’s a list of equally bad……best left behind.

My Husband asked what I was doing, and I said reading this. He said you know whatever people wrote it was really their 2nd or 3rd worst regret.
I got a smart one.

Sometime very early I decided that I would choose to do things I wanted to do and not whatI knew God wanted me to do. It has worked out poorly every time. I thank Him for chastising me.

Not investing $1000 in Sprint in the ’80s. Most of my lousy decisions worked out and were overcome. My guess is that poor decisions do not mean disaster.

Had a job offer to enter cutting edge computer consulting in 1984. But job didn’t start for 4 months, and I was broke and had to go to work immediately. Ended up in manufacturing as a result, as I couldn’t wait and had other offers. It was a bad bad decision I suspect, but no way of really knowing. I think I would have made a killing in that field, as I was a savant in programming and process design. And my life would have been far less stressful. But then I almost certainly would not have met my wife, not have the children I do, and have had the experiences I have had. I don’t regret the decision, but have often wondered how it would have turned out.

It’s something that I prefer not to outright share. I do own it because actions deserve accountability. It was a horrible decision.

That said, do I regret it? No. My decision made me who I am and saved someone close. While the consequences were horrible for me, they restored independence for my mom. She had been beaten down by the death of my dad. In addition, my BIL and sis spent three years freeloading, and then decided to leave her and move thousands of miles away. She was devastated. I tried to remind her that she was an original “latchkey” kid and was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. She ignored me, until she couldn’t because of the consequences of the horrible decision that I made.

Mom regained her ability to take care of herself. She learned to take care of day to day tasks and ended up thriving to the point that even she had to admit that she benefited. When my BIL and sis came back to resume their freeloading, they discovered that living with her would no longer be free. It made my day when she told them she loved them, but this time, there were ground rules. They were furious and tried to throw my horrible decision back in my face at every chance. My response was a smile and a smooth as butter retort about how well mom was doing without our help, and wasn’t it great to see her thriving?

If you think of the monkey as the USMIC/NATO and the lion as Russia, you’d have a pretty good understanding of the world today.
