It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. Worst: Indecisiveness, procrastination, selfishness.
Best: I don’t know. I’ll have to get back to you on that.
take the top 3, put ’em in a blender,….that’l do
Forgot Mad Max
Sorry, in a FF mood.
I have an excessive tendency to research stuff and plan things. For example, I can spend 4 weeks on researching the best brand and model of a new vacuum cleaner before buying one. Or I plan a vacation trip to the very last minute. It sucks the spontaneity out of the days. I think the underlying reason is an attempt at controlling the unpredictabilities of life. On the flip side, if unexpected things happen, I do tend to be relaxed about it and quickly change itineraries without problems, probably because I also have plans B, C and D in the back of my mind already.
Same, but two notches less extreme.
However I only consider it a vacation if it’s largely unplanned.
Oh my I hear you. The ole lady was harping on me about buying something on Amazon. There were about 10 different items to choose from, some with like 1,000+ reviews. I read every last review for each item. I am smart enough to filter out the stupid reviews and focus on the critical ones. I will not buy something until I have extensively researched it!
LOL… The joke around our house is, research research research… My sweetpea to the enth…
Spontaneity. That is me in a nutshell. Honey, we are going to Florida, be ready in an hour! Don’t forget my travel snacks!
You sound fun. 🙂
Lying. Liars not only lie to others, they lie to themselves too. They don’t live in reality.
Oops, I answered the question wrong.
MY WORST TRAIT? Inflated ego.
Best trait? I think I have a pretty good moral compass.
I’m fairly impatient, but I get done the things that need doing!
GCP. Potato chips will reduce impatience through a process called calorie poisoning. Works great for my wife.
Calorie poisoning, sounds like a good time… 😁
I hear you Pastor- and looking forward to your further wonderful wisdom! That’s one of MY faults – grabbing other’s ideas and selling them back to them – they call it ‘consultancy’!
Worst – I am a procrastinator and I answer questions directly, often hurting people’s feelings
Best – I enjoy taking care of my family and always try to have a smile on my face. An eternal optimist.
From your great postings TNP, I can only praise your forthright approach – something that is sadly lacking in the Great British Isles. These people go all around the mulberry bush before finally saying: “I say old chap, take 5 and let me know what you really think”. Of course, they don’t expect you to get back to them – it’s called a ‘brush off’; but most regular folks would never understand the subtlety.
I can’t wait to get back to the place and people I love and admire for the very thing you claim to be the best at! 🙂 Hint: it’s in the southern hemisphere and the next stop is Antarctica! AND GOODBYE to UK forever – can’t wait!
The Falkland Islands?
Cape Town – it’s nearer maybe? Whatever – all I know is that the S wind comes from the Antarctic and is fresh and pollution free! Actually our home is Simons Town:

Thanks, Peter. What is your timetable? I know your wife is looking forward to getting back home.
Planning for end of this year, but much to do in the meantime. Yvonne has had to renew her SA passport (she has dual nationality) which we have applied for but can take over 6 months. Her UK one is also due for renewal also mine too – lots of boring admin – forms and bureaucracy – drives me mad when there is so much happening at present. But no worries – it’s all meant to be.
You should try Tasmania, welcomes all and with the SW section totally unexplored and wind swept by the purest air in the World, I commend it as a choice.
Thank you for your concern, Thunder. My wife, Yvonne is South African and we spent 10 very happy years in Simons Town, W Cape. It’s a long story, but all our friends and contacts are there and Yvonne’s family are all spread around SA.
After 13 years here in UK I doubt my sanity to last too much longer. I arrived in Simons Town and bought a live-a-board yacht in 2000. I never in my life wished to live 50 deg north of the equator – it’s madness personified. I was finally able to escape in that special year, 2000, only to find myself returning to UK in 2009, intentionally for only long enough to sort my finances/pensions and get my wife a UK passport – took 5+ years and lots of money – got there in the end – since when we have both been wanting to return to SA
My family are all here in UK. Failing to plan is planning to fail – I am planning now – for target ETD Q1 2023 latest. My books Part 1 and 2 explain much more: It was 2013 that caused me to stay in UK longer – I had to write my books – for the sake of saving souls:

I have this belief that 90% of the people walking around are fucking morons. That seriously effects my personality when dealing with people overall. Sometimes I do have to hold it in when dealing with people at work. Although I have been in my position long enough that most people know how I am and know that I am not afraid to call them an idiot to their face.
Good news is, for those that get to know me (and I haven’t told off) end up finding that I am one to give the shirt off my back to help them. Of course this has bit me in the ass a few times, but just the way I am. I won’t let people borrow money though, learned that lesson long ago!
FYI – it should be ‘affects’ not ‘effects’. Kind of blows your first sentence out of the water, eh?
Coming from a guy that starts out with an incomplete sentence with an acronym. But thanks for the clarification. I have been involved with final tech reports all week, which have been nothing but grammar and formatting corrections. The last thing I give a flying fuck about right now is proper grammar on an internet forum. But to each there own. I mean THEIR. OOPS
Win–we are brothers from different mothers.
Its ok….90% of the people walking around ARE fucking morons (or sociopaths).
You know those people on the Jerry Springer Show, those are the average Americans. Believe me, below average can’t get on the show. – George Carlin
So there’s a 100% chance that 90% of your work ‘associates’ would at any given chance put 7 inches of dick into you so quick even you would be impressed.
Bad: Too many frying pans to watch
Good: Positive attitude and good gut instincts
OH – ENTP.
A little FYI…back in the early 90s, two psychologists studied game film and interviews of successful NFL players, particularily QBs. They contacted Bill Polian in Indy and advised him not to draft Ryan Leaf, which was based on Briggs-Myers.
Took some QB from Knoxvegas instead. We all know how that worked out.
Worst personality trait:I am a narcissistic brat!
Best personality trait:I am a narcissistic brat!
My attitude about life is displayed here.
Oh,and yes,I do not only think but know I own the road!
The earth does not revolve around the sun,the sun revolves around me!
Fitting you would use a cat in your illustration.
Best: easy going, sense of humor.
Worst: sometimes speak before thinking, only to regret what’s been said.
Best: Kind, gentle, a lover of all humans.
Worst: Quick to anger, potty mouth, vindictive, violent, full of anger at every fucken thing in this world, suicidal, homicidal, and definitely not the master of my domain.
Stucky–A full fledged card carrying member of Bizzaro World! Thank you for all you do! (Say)
Best poster ever – always willing to help another poster – that’s your forte Stucky and I love you for it 🙂
My worst trait is not that I’m grumpy but that others are just to happy.
There are two kinds of people… and I try to avoid them.
So I’m very tolerant and therefore thats my best trait,,,
Lots of psychiatrist babble above. About 200 “diseases” with no diagnosis or treatment. Hocus pocus dominocus. $100 an hour please! Tells me what I need to know. Trust Christ as Savior and pray. Problems solved by a loving God instead of a high priced quack.
Best: Despite everything, I still keep getting back up when I hear the bell for the next round, damn it.
Worst: I tend to be attracted to females who are like Mary Poppins (“practically perfect in every way”) and then find out the hard way what it’s like to live with such women.
Best : Sensitive
Worst: Revengefull
For a good book on the 4 Temperments and their strengths & weaknesses please read “Spirit Controlled Temperment” by Tim LaHaye. It’s a old book so you might have trouble finding a copy of it.
Wasn’t he an author of the “Left Behind ” series of books?
That’s why he left behind the “a” in ‘temperament’.
I really dont give a rat’s ass. I guess that’s the worst or the best depending on your opinion… which is worth absolutely nothing.
+: will go to hell and back for the people I love
-: hate the shit out of everyone else
Through all the shit thrown at me from day one and initiated by me as time wore on, I found ways to prosper. It’s very like a swimmer using water’s resistance for propulsion or not using it and drowning.
Resilient but volatile.
I consistently score 90% or above on the introversion factor. Everything else is split down the middle, which drives people nuts.
My worst trait is that I take introversion too far and will sometimes check out for weeks, except for work. I once had someone do a wellness check because I was MIA. Interacting with people face to face can be exhausting.
If I had to pick a “best” trait, it’s that I know my own mind. Pity the fool that tries to tell me otherwise. *side eye to you mr/ms if you don’t take the shitshot (insert consequence here)* GFY.
I’m a perfectionist.
And I guess my good trait would be loyal.
This one is easy. My psychiatrist said that there was no cure for accountancy! ‘Nuf said!
Good traits: slow to anger, generous, willing to help someone help themselves, not particularly racist, sexist, misogynist, misanthropist, trying to garden effectively, quiet (usually)
Bad traits: carry drudges, intellectualist, self-righteous, inflexible on certain principles, sometimes secretive, not willing to go along with nonsense to avoid conflict, ready for the Crunch to get on with it, potentially lethal to identified threats without delay or warning
Sometimes I think Batman’s Joker is an amateur.
Carrying drudges is bad for your health.
not if you use your legs and not your back…
I want to add value to whatever I do.
I tried and succeeded in proving to my employer that I essentially worked for them for free in that the money I saved the company exceeded the salary I received.
My worst traits are my dislike for cats and bipolar ex-wives….heck bipolar women in general….cats too, because they are bipolar.
I also have a hard time dealing with brown people who can’t speak or make an effort to learn word of English, living and working in Our Country off the sacrifices of our Anscestors.
Biden: “We’re all going to have to make sacrifices”.
Me: “I’m willing to sacrifice you first, to Cthulhu possibly, along with Kamala, Nancy, Chuck, Mitch, and nearly everyone in office in DC; where would you like me to start?”
Well, I am an asshole. Bout covers it.
Best: I treat people like they are dumber than me. “Can I help you with that?”
Worst: I treat people like they are dumber than me. “Let me show you how to fuckin’ do that!”
