Back in the early 90’s I was headed to Chicago on 90 headed west, near Indiana Dunes. It got real dark, the sky turned a weird green color and I thought this is gonna be a hell of a storm. The rain started coming down so hard that the wipers at full tilt had no effect. You could see the tail lights up ahead all get bright as the cars started hitting the brakes and from the left side of the road this massive funnel came out of the trees and moved across the highway. You could see the furthest cars up ahead start to lift off the ground and start to spin away and then disappear into the funnel. It just went right across like it had somewhere to go, leaving this huge debris trail of shattered trees and crumpled up cars behind it.
There wasn’t anything anyone could do, it happened so fast and then disappeared, like it was a dream.
