There so few Bond film theme songs that were not brilliant.
Take 10 minutes and try to prove me wrong. The nostalgia is
worth every second. Except for the abominable Madonna dreck
and A-Ha. Carly Simon was a neglected classic.
Salvaged by the two legendary Shirley Bassey songs.
She also sang “Moonraker” not included here.
2nd best, “Mad World”Of “Donny Darko” Written by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith of Tears For Fears, but covered by and sung by Gary Jules. Haunting.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Hi downvote Karen! You sad little lonely cunt.
You made my day seeing your predictable little petulant rabbit dropping here too.
THANK YOU!
My wife asked what I was laughing at reading today. I replied. “A clueless comic….” ( I left out ‘cunt’ at the end in my response to my cultured woman)
Please leave more of your impotent droppings of loserdom all over my magnificent posts.
They ALWAYS put a YUUUGE smile on my handsome face when I see them. It confirms for all to see here that I live rent free in your tiny seething head!
LOLOLOLLLL!
Maverick had very underrated country music soundtrack.
I love the music to blade runner, schindler’s list…really anything hanz zimmer has touched
His score for “Gladiator” is excellent also.
Part of the sound track was taken from the movie Zulu. Could never watch it from beginning to to end
Men Of Harlech”
How to deal with the modern day Zulu.
Great song.
The ending credits in the original version are epic. The directors cut killed them.
Love this one. It’s now part of my playlist that I listen to almost daily.
Hans Zimmer The Bible
Beautiful, MG.
Mozart Requiem in D Minor Amadeues
Yes. Saw the movie with my long passed away mom. Just awesome music, and yes, the Requiem stood out. Mozart was the greatest. Thanks for the memory. I had a symphony playing in my head for weeks afterwards.
Another one that was posted on Sunday Morning Classical within the last 6 months.
See the 3/27/22 edition for a 2nd example.
Shirley Jones, a truly beautiful woman, accompanied by Gordon MacRae: “If I Loved You,” from Carousel…
Pink Floyd – The Wall:
I guess that’s not truly in the spirit of the question however as it is the entire movie.
Hard to beat Pink Floyd.
Oh yeah….?
😂😂 Not even close!
Nonsense! Billions of “the people” know this theme!
Only millions of “callous sophisticates” know PF.
Unchained melody.
Just an excellent song all around.
So many good choices–I love movie music. Here’s an offbeat choice that is one of my favorites, “Hellraiser”:
In the same vein– actually a REALLY iconic piece of music, immediately recognizable is this one—-
Tubular Bells – Mike Oldfield
Little known factoid – Producing Tubular Bells was Sir Richard Branson’s first success.
So a movie about Satanic possession is tied in a way to Richard Branson, one of the globalist elite…..who’s shocked?
Can’t be touched..
It always touched my heart, too.
Father of Darryl Dragon, aka “The Captain”.
Lot of tracks on Natural Born Killers I like.
Currently, the entire soundtrack for the 2017 film Walking Out.

Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin” in The Midnight Cowboy movie.
It made feel sorry for Ratso dying on the bus.
I was going to suggest this – which is The Ecstasy of Gold track from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
A GREAT song sampling liberally from TGTB&TU.
Once Upon a Time in the West
Call Me , Blondie ( Great American Giglio)
The most beautiful music I ever heard was in a dream. The tide rushes in, Moody Blues, played by the celestial choir. Seemed like it had thousands of instruments and voices.
The entire Easy Rider soundtrack, but of note:
The entire Big Chill soundtrack.
Of note:
Animal House – Shout:
Goldfinger. hirley Bassey had to take her bra off to hit its last, very extended word “Gold”.
I am giving you a capital ‘S’, and a thumb-up.
Fingah!
Been thinking about it some while I was mowing and I’d have to go with Purple Rain.
“Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears For Fears, in the old 80’s comedy, Real Genius. Every time I hear that song I think about kids jumping into a giant pile of popcorn.
Credits for “Dr. Strangelove or how I learn to stop worrying and love the bomb” with Vera Lynn singing “We’ll meet again.”
All too apt, given current events.
Great choice. My mom told me that the ending of that film, given the nuclear black cloud of fear that they lived under at the time of its release, left everyone completely silent when they left the theater.
The blackest of black comedy. Classic!
Tears For Fears – Everybody Wants To Rule The World, from Real Genius. With the young and beautiful Val Kilmer.
Here is one of them.
Probably not popular here, but Tarantino had awesome talent for picking the right song for the off-beat scene.
I am partial to Little Green Bag from Reservoir Dogs.
Yes, good song…awesome movie.
I have the sense that many duels will be fought before soon.

The theme song from “To Live and Die in LA” and “Wait”, both by Wang Chung.
Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins from Top Gun. My son and I used to crank it up when we watched the movie.
Howard Shore The Departed
True Detective Far From Any Road The Handsome Family
Good, Bad & the ugly.
something about this one….
Wow, totally forgot about that great animated movie. One of the few animated movies I can stand watching.
South Park’s take on this film was priceless.
that UN building line…. “The U.N. Building. What a joke! They turned it into low rent housing. It’s a dump.” LOL… about what it is worth today
A couple tunes: The Lion in Winter, O Fortuna, Bridge over River Qui, The Generals, and the Hell March.
Yes, that was good. And reminded me of this song from The Piano that I love.
+10, Anon.
This piece was posted in Sunday Morning Classical about 6 months ago.
Great melodies in this one.
Tanks for posting, and giving us a revisit.
Carry on.
John Williams opening theme to SUPERMAN.
