AMERICAN FREAKSHOW

“When you’re born you get a ticket to the freak show. When you’re born in America, you get a front row seat.” – George Carlin

MONTEGO BAY RESORT - Updated 2022 Prices & Motel Reviews (North Wildwood, NJ)

When we saw the forecast for this past weekend on Wednesday, we quickly booked a room for Friday and Saturday nights in Wildwood. Even though we are headed back down to the beach in two weeks for our annual vacation, we couldn’t pass up an 80 degree day in May. The Montego Bay hotel is one of only a few that are open all year in Wildwood. It’s kind of dumpy, the staff is grumpy and the one elevator takes five minutes to arrive.

You park underneath and there is always water dripping from somewhere. It always reminds me of that condo tower that collapsed in Miami last year. The rooms are clean and the view from the 5th floor balcony is spectacular, looking out on the Atlantic Ocean. You get to see a stunning sunrise, majestic sailboats, and dolphins frolicking close to the beach.

Of course it’s easier to see when there isn’t a five story pile of sand in front of your hotel and the beach access is blocked off. It’s normally peaceful when there aren’t dump trucks and other heavy machinery operating from 6:00 am until 4:00 pm. It’s also quieter when your ghetto neighbors in the next room aren’t blasting their music at volume 11. It seems the North Wildwood authorities attempt to defeat Mother Nature every year by replenishing the beach that washes away every winter during coastal storms. So they pile up tons of sand and truck it up and down the North Wildwood beaches all spring, trying to create a decent sized beach by Memorial Day. It’s not working so well this year.

What is going on with the Large Sand Dunes on the Beach in North Widwood, New Jersey? | The Boardwalk Blog and News

They had created a small but decent sized beach in North Wildwood, until a coastal storm washed it all away. So, one week before Memorial Day, this is what the beach looks like now. At high tide, there is no beach. They are fighting an uphill battle, and they will always lose. They spend millions of taxpayer dollars per year and it all washes out to sea every year. On Saturday we packed our cooler full of refreshments, grabbed our books (my birthday gift – The Real Anthony Fauci by RFK), and headed to the beach with our chairs. We found a tiny opening behind the sand dune with waves lapping at our feet. We sat for a couple hours, drinking our illegal refreshments, taking in the views, but not reading very much.

Wildwood - coronavirus

The lack of beaches is mostly a North Wildwood problem, as Wildwood’s beaches are quite wide. Mother Nature and the tides spare their beaches. As our economic system continues to swirl down the toilet, the money for these boondoggles will dissipate like the beach during a Nor’easter.

That night we went to Inlet on Olde for dinner and a few drinks. They had an acoustic guitar player who was good, but no one cared. No applause. No requests. We reminisced that if this was a few years ago we would be at the Shamrock watching Bill Jack perform until the wee hours of the morning. But Governor Murphy and the corrupt politicians in Wildwood forced the Shamrock out of business over bullshit covid violations and now Billy Jack is nowhere to be found in Wildwood as of today. We sure hope he gets a steady gig somewhere so we can see him again.

Checkout time was 10:00 am on Sunday, but the weather was perfect, so we wanted to hang around and enjoy it as long as possible. The temperature was 72 in Wildwood, with an ocean breeze, while it was 95 degrees and humid at home. We took a long walk on the beach and made our way back onto the boardwalk, as we planned to get some lunch before heading home. About a block from where our old condo is, there is the Douglass Fudge Pavilion where there were two empty Adirondack chairs with our names on them. We decided to sit back and take in the sights on this beautiful spring day.

Photos at Douglass Fudge Pavillion - Scenic Lookout

This picture my wife took from our seats should have been a foreshadowing of what we would witness over the next forty-five minutes. Within a few yards of each other are Douglass Fudge and Laura’s Fudge. Everywhere you look on the Wildwood boardwalk, it is fudge, pizza, ice cream, sodas, French fries, tacos, burgers, cheesesteaks, candy, fried Oreos, fried Snickers, donuts, hoagies, zeppoles, churros, and funnel cake. Based on the hundreds of people waddling by us on the boardwalk that day, it seemed like most had consumed ample quantities of these foods and many others.

When the average person walking on the Wildwood boardwalk looks like Chris Christie, you know you’ve got an obesity problem in this country. To be honest, there were plenty of thin, athletic people on the boardwalk, but they were outnumbered by 3 to 1 by the fatties. I’m 59 years old and probably 25 pounds overweight, but I wasn’t in my twenties and thirties. The disturbing fact is how many young people are enormous. Luckily they rebuilt this part of the boardwalk with sturdier boards, so it could handle the hordes of Chris Christies sauntering on the boardwalk.

Wildwood daze: In civilized places, drinking on the beach is no big deal | Mulshine - nj.com

I know everyone has the ability to not consume junk food and live a healthy lifestyle, but our society is built upon mass consumption of manufactured food stuff, marketed to youngsters from the day they start watching TV. Just as the government uses Edward Bernays propaganda techniques to control the masses, these same techniques are used by mega-corporations to convince the ignorant masses to consume their products.

This obesity epidemic is produced systematically by corporations creating products that aren’t food but are sold and marketed as food. They are chemically produced crap, intended to make us sick, so the Sickcare industry and Big Pharma can sell us more products that don’t cure you, but treat your symptoms. It’s the circle of death, with a population left obese, sick and dependent, while mega-corporations are enriched.

It was about the 30-minute mark that I turned to my wife and said, “This is a freakshow”. Just then a surrey went by with some diverse passengers holding ferrets, confirming my freakshow diagnosis. Shortly thereafter two identical 50ish fat lady twins with dyed black hair of equal length and wearing the exact same clothes shuffled by, reconfirming my freakshow assessment. In addition to the waddling land whales, there were the purple hair brigade, nose, and lip piercing platoon, and of course the tattooed taskforce. Some hit a grand slam by being in all four categories.

I’m often left speechless when observing what people are doing to their bodies in the world today. When I was a kid the only people with tattoos were military guys or bikers, and those tattoos were a single symbolic tattoo on their upper arm. You never saw a tattoo on a woman in the 1960s, 70’s or 80’s. On this day it seemed like 50% of every man, woman and teen was adorned in hideous unrecognizable graphics from head to toe. My wife took this picture and the 60ish couple just happened to be walking by. It’s difficult to make out, but both of these seniors had full leg and arm tattoos. They were the classic representation of white trash.

I can’t conceptualize what makes people want to denigrate their own bodies in such a way. I think it is another example of our cultural decline. This social media ME culture, where everyone is taking selfies and posting on Facebook or Instagram, encourages the ignorant masses to try and stand out by doing things to their bodies in order to be noticeable and make an impression.

Our culture doesn’t honor people’s intellect or thoughts, but how they look and the shock factor of being more outrageous than everyone else. But, in reality, the tattooed masses are nothing but followers, doing whatever trend the crowd has latched onto at the moment. This explains their complete subservience to getting jabbed with an experimental Big Pharma concoction. They were told everyone else was getting it, so they just followed like good sheep.

I think millions of people feel like nameless, faceless cogs in the machine. They have no real purpose in life and are desperate to stand out. They are then convinced by friends or TV getting tattoos will make others think they are a rebel and will be talked about by others. Instead, most of them look pathetic and unemployable, especially those with neck, face, or head tattoos. There is nothing more disgusting than a hippopotamus with tattoos from head to toe. I believe the proliferation of tattoos is an attempt to fill a void in their hearts and minds, created by a world run by psychopaths who see people as objects to be used, milked, manipulated, corralled, and monetized.

They have been using media and technology for decades to influence and control the thoughts, emotions, and opinions of the masses through propaganda designed to keep the masses poor, indebted and doing menial jobs, while they live in luxury and splendor. The void in the lives of the masses is purposely created and it’s filled by manufactured food and distortion of their bodies. I’m convinced this freakshow we call our country has not been created by accident, but purposely by the ruling oligarchy (aka owners) as the best paradigm to accomplish their evil intentions and enrichment.

After lunch, we still thought it was too soon to hit the road, so we drove down to the rocks at 2rd and JFK Boulevard. We sat on the bench where we had left my mother a few weeks earlier so she could talk to my deceased father, as that was the bench they always sat on while watching the wave’s crash on the jetty. I didn’t realize my wife was taking a picture of me, but the shirt I was wearing had one of my favorite quotes from George Carlin: “It’s a Big Club, and you Ain’t in it.”

Since I don’t believe in coincidences, as this article percolated in my mind, I happened to watch the two part documentary of George Carlin’s life on HBO over the last two nights called George Carlin’s American Dream. It was fascinating, enlightening and highly entertaining to watch Carlin’s transformations, awakenings, growth, and the anger with our culture that drove him in his final years.

The establishment hacks who Carlin despised said he was just a bitter old man at the end of his life, but he had zeroed in on the real problems in this country and who was most responsible, and they didn’t like it. I’m convinced anyone who wants to understand what has happened and is happening in this world just needs to read the words of Huxley, Orwell and Carlin. They capture the zeitgeist of our times. I think my observations on the Wildwood boardwalk can be encapsulated in these two quotes from Carlin:

“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

“The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice! You have OWNERS! They OWN YOU. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought—and paid for—the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls.”

The owners have used the stupidity of the average person, created by decades of useless indoctrination in government run schools, to enslave people in debt and turn them into non-thinking consumers, who beg the owners to tell them what to think, believe, or inject into their bodies. At the end of the documentary it is pointed out Carlin wasn’t always a cynic. He was an idealist who became a cynic when he realized our society was doomed and there was nothing he could do but rage against the machine.

I’ve followed a similar path, as I began writing because I thought I could convince enough people to change our course through the ballot box. But I’ve come to the same conclusion as Carlin. This freakshow we call America cannot be fixed at the ballot box and is destined to fall. It is happening now and there is nothing we can do to stop it from happening. The American Dream is dead.

“That’s why they call it the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.”

Every teenager in America should be made to watch Carlin’s American Dream monologue from 2005, shortly before his death. Carlin never lost faith in individuals, only in groups, governments, corporations, and the ruling elite. Once this tottering empire of lies falls it will be up to individuals to create something better.

Accurate and sad.

What happens if one of the tattooed fatties decides to change his/her life and loses 200 pounds? Those tats will be even more hideous.

“…I think millions of people feel like nameless, faceless cogs in the machine. They have no real purpose in life and are desperate to stand out…”

Which is more prevalent in this disintegrating culture:

The impulse to stand out…

Or the compulsion to fit in…

???

The answer is painfully obvious.

Long ago our purpose in life was to marry, have and raise children, farm the land and feed our families and community.
Sprinkled in there were blacksmiths, bakers, metalsmiths, woodworkers, coopers, ship builders, stonemasons, glass blowers, jewelers, etc.
Then came the Guttenberg press and more knowledge. Not a bad thing. Now people were reading on a large scale, and that led to knowledge. Which led to advancements in science and technology.
We got the cotton gin, and steam engines, and then diesel engines. Yet people still “made” things. There was a pride in the crafting by the maker and an appreciation from the buyer or barterer for the made thing.
It used to be people who made things profited from making then selling them.
Now we make nothing, and only the dirt poor toil in factories to make cheap crap no one needs so a few people can be so wealthy we cannot fathom their wealth.
Yet the desire and drive to create, to make, to craft, to build, is still innately there.
Stifled by governmental agencies and red tape, it is almost impossible to create wealth through crafting, building, or making any damn thing.
We are told we must go “to work” in some office building, making nothing yet experiencing severe pressure to “advance” at said “career”. If we have a family, we are told it’s ok to be away from them for extended periods of time to go run on the hamster wheel of our career.
We make crappy memories once a week in the summer and on two commercialized holidays in the winter, one where we eat until we pass out and the other we buy more bullshit produced in the third world to give to our kids to assuage our guilt for being at our “careers” so much.
We do that for 40 years until we are worn out and broken, bitter, and possibly alone as our wife or husband died just two years before we “retired”. All that time, all that water under the bridge, and we could see the finish line….it was right there. And then our spouse is dead. And the kids we had…well they are on their own hamster wheel now, so good luck seeing them.
And we think…if only we had taken a different path. Followed that hobby. Told the boss to fuck off and forgot about Keeping up with the Jonses and spent more time with the kids and the wife/husband.
We have been sold a lie. A lie of debt and easy credit. A lie of the giant house, and new cars, and phones, and fancy TVs (to tell us more lies), and on and on.
Having Stuff is not the same as living a life filled with children and laughter and good friends. A life of working to enjoy the fruits of your own labor, that no man can take and give to another by some law you never voted for.
A life where you don’t live in fear that the Hydra we call Government will force some chemical concoction on you for The Greater Good. Or take your livelihood away with words spoken and threats made. Or force you to cover your face with a piece of fabric, something so anathema to us as humans, a muzzle.
A life where you have never been told you are something you are not.
A life where you have no need to tattoo your body to advertise to the world you are bereft of hope, bereft of purpose, and bereft of life.
Keep building and making, keep loving and planting, and hold fast to your families.

“Carlin never lost faith in individuals”. Sound principle, and while i’m still ‘practicing’, i’m nearly to the point where i don’t even have to THINK…’Fool me once…’.

Not to get all Biblical, but Your same ears are ‘hearing’ things, Your same eyes are ‘seeing’ things. Differently.

Same as it EVER was. The rose tinting is gone.

Put on Your sheep shearling Ghillie suit and listen to the ground, The Buffalo stampede is in the distance.

Don’t fret about the Lone (gunman) wolf or all the Alpha wolves who are going to form a pack. LOL. My wife could handle most of ’em by herself. with a throwing knife, hatchet, or a slingshot, If she was was in a benevolent “Well, I thought they deserved a sportin’ chance” kinda mood. Shoots OK as well. Thinking about getting another dog , but it’s just so painful to bury them.

If it all goes south, by now you certainly know who you can count on. And they do too. After all, Yinz been talking about this pending moment in time for yrs., Right? Writing on the wall for a bit now.

“Rainbow Bridge’ is engraved on one side of my parents…one left…Headstone in the family plot. Couldn’t figure out where to put it so they just picked the spot where we buried them (pets) for yrs. Their dogs still come by After their early morning patrol/bathroom run for milk and ‘cookies’.

All strays for the most part, guess people just figured that if they dropped ’em off near a barn the ‘farmer’ would take care of ’em. The two current ones are definitely an odd couple. ‘Benny’, a Hefty (now) Golden Lab. He’s the only dog i ever saw who looks like he’s smiling constantly. Came with his ‘sister’ a Dalmatian who had a terminal illness that a substantial amount of money only prolonged…courtesy of a neighbor up the holler who couldn’t afford to feed…more than one habit. Mom was constantly feeding them and they just refused to leave. She was still heartbroken after having to have ‘Zukey’ put down due to advanced age. Just couldn’t get up anymore. He Actually was a gift, the result of a purebred German Sheppard and a purebred Siberian Husky doing what comes naturally. Given the opportunity, lol. Neither breeder saw much ‘Good’ in him. Markings and hair length of the German, Husky colors and blue eyes. Even when she called the neighbor to come pick ’em up and gave her food for them and told her to call when she needed more…As soon as they could, they would show up together. Pretty sure Mom just ‘bought’ them outright at some point.

One of the most amazing ones is ‘Ezra’, the reigning Queen. Compliments of the local sheriff, puppy that was obtained in a meth lab raid. Definitely pit bull/Weimaraner mix. She can ‘talk’ quite well. Inexplicably, the two of them showed up at a non-standard time, Ezra first. Killed a groundhog with 2 shakes by the neck. Grateful i didn’t have to kill it. All i had to do was gut and skin. Wife cooked it. Not too old, Vegetarian, Not bad tasting.

Dad is 85 so i may end up adopting them. Will definitely get at least one when they go. Scary out here with no street lights.

Sincerely, PLEASE don’t throw me in the Briar Patch

I’m having a retrospective panic attack. Kinda…I knew that my career was simply a means to an end…to get off the hamster wheel ASAP; so that I could move to the country, live fairly comfortably, but try new endeavors like building a well house, deer resistant garden, and a multi-tiered retaining wall for starters. I do get a kick out of pulling the mower with the ATV up and down that steep grade (at least 15 degrees in spots) That manual labor is challenging me not just physically, but mentally. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to have to do it for a lifetime and for survival (I might have to…we’ll see), but it has given me a taste of tangible rewards for the fruits of my labor. It has been more rewarding than working for the Administrative State…that I utterly despise at this point.

That’s it Steve.

We are spiritual creatures. Spirituality will persist, regardless of the perspective we hold on it. And spirituality can turn very ugly and dark, or it can be beauty and light, with a full spectrum in between.
Solomon preceded Jesus and his teaching foreshadowed Jesus’s. It seems Jesus reiterated Solomon’s conclusions and gave us all the instruction human beings would ever need to prosper spiritually, which is everything. He condensed all valuable life’s instructions into a handful of words. Love God first, love your neighbor like yourself.
However these instructions are generally going to be poorly received by individuals without belief in an afterlife. If one is convinced that they are purely a physical entity, without spirit and existence beyond the physical body, living for spiritual ends is illogical. Hence the observations of Mr. Quinn above.

It is both of those: The virtue signaling? Stand out and fit in.
“I am more liberal than you are”
The mutilation? Stand out by making people feel a disgust at
the sight of you. Abortion: “Well, I have had several” some brag.
“Two of my children are trans, haha, I still have 2 boys and a girl”

People are destroying themselves.

Disagree with that statement in an otherwise excellent piece. If people felt like nameless, faceless cogs, they’d rebel. In fact, most people don’t even realize they are being screwed and are fine with how things are. Look at how life has slipped back to “normal” after the Covid hysteria. The most important things are consumption, selfies and entertainment.

Please make it in Canada so I can live there. The faceless cogs here have complied with Trudeau’s tyranny and I am not allowed to leave until I get jabbed.
The faceless cogs don’t rebel. They crush the individual rebel instead of their oppressor.

‘Oh, Fletch, you don’t love that! You don’t love hatred and evil, of course. You have to practice and see the real gull, the good in every one of them, and to help them see it in themselves. That’s what I mean by love. It’s fun, when you get the knack of it.’”

To further the point. Think of the most wealthy and powerful human beings. Surely they have everything they want, to a much greater extent than your run of the mill lefty and landwhale. Are they fulfilled? Clearly they are not, as they continually descend deeper into psychopathy to obtain more wealth and power. Emptiness is a spiritual problem requiring a spiritual solution. Humans, led by dark spirits, of which they deny or are at best dimly aware, will stop at nothing to fill that emptiness. And of course when one is indoctrinated from childhood to deny their spiritual nature, the solution is going to be largely incoherent. Then if not incoherent, unpalatable. Hence the observations of Mr. Quinn above.

I’ve been an AnCap (i.e. government hater) since Ayn Rand changed my life 40 years ago but I wasn’t ready for the in-your-face corruption it reveals. There is not a fig leaf, nor a pine needle to cover their tracks.

It isn’t cynicism, it’s discernment. There is a time and place for optimism, indulging in self deception about reality isn’t it. You recognize the predicament we are in and call it what it is. I can’t call that cynicism.

As far as the book, RFK Jr really turned out a masterpiece. If anyone would like a college level course on how fascist money/power sausage is made, read this book. Spoiler alert, the primary ingredient is the lives and health of the human livestock that live under ownership of the sausage makers – various oligarchs, pharmacorp and their attendant government bureaucracy bedfellows.

Although the book doesn’t seem to have had any effect on turning the tide on the antiChrist agenda, it is still very valuable. It bears witness. This is important for right thinking people, now and for posterity. The fact that a crime is called out, even exposed thoroughly with documentation, is much better than silence. Justice may or may not be done, but the book is testimony that there were still some in society capable of recognizing the crime and protesting it. That is better than the alternative, silence, no protest, no one bothering or caring to bear witness. It is a demonstration that conscience still existed among a few in our society in the early 2020’s. I am encouraged by that and expect others will be in the future.

I enjoy your posts on your Wildwood adventures. Seems to be getting worse every year, which is no surprise as the country itself is tanking. We gave up traveling before the Covid shitshow. We had nice weather over the weekend too and decided to just hangout here on the porch in our rural heaven. The bugs were bad at times, but I will take them over seeing fat slobs and tatted up freaks. We just took in nature and all things normal that still exist in this world. The bull frogs gave us a nice melody. We watched nature do its thing. The mallards were being chased by their newborn ducklings. Birds nesting all over awaiting their young. Rabbits, chipmunks, red fox, coons, and all other kinds of four legged creatures out looking for a place to call their home (I made it clear they weren’t living under any of my structures). A momma deer and her baby that was barely able to walk came up to the pond for water. At least there are some things we can still cherish in this world.

Concur. Jim paints an accurate picture. Living here on the Southernmost Texas Coast, I can tell you I see the exact same picture on South Padre Island. Throw in a mix of our guests from Mexico and it’s probably much worse than what you see on the Northeast coast. We used to put our fifth-wheel on the beach every fall for two months. Stopped since Covid. Our country was dysfunctional but livable prior to the plandemic. Now it’s near intolerable. I hate going out anywhere where I might see a mask wearing covidiot, and there are plenty of them here.

But I digress. I really chimed in to say great post Jim. Thanks for the reporting and the website… Chip

Sounds like you are around Brownsville. My oldest younger brother worked for Yellow Freight there at one time, a college grad, white collar job. It was almost like he was a King to those people. No joke.

I do recall someone climbing the “wall” at his second story apartment unit and stealing his bicycle and a BBQ grill.

He married a really attractive Mexican woman that grew up there. Her family was “average” I suppose one would say for Brownsville. Recalling, the marriage ceremony, the vows were exchanged at a Catholic church. I guess the attendance was average. Then , at the reception , it was like everyone in Brownsville showed up. Free food, open bar, a Mariachi band that serenaded brother and his newlywed all through the crowd. I LMAO so hard, it was like King and Queen for a day, the traditional honorary celebration.

Time to go, call it a night, I was assigned to chauffeur the two lovebirds to their honeymoon castle for the night driving a rented limo. I was so drunk it is amazing I found my way back to my hotel without incident. But the new sister-in-law had a dad that worked for the Brownsville police so there you go.

Speaking of boondoggles today’s NJ Shit Ledger …. story about a $5 Billion dollar plan to widen the approaches to Holland Tunnel. Just 8 miles, five billion clams. But that’s not the crazy part. Here is the tunnel inside …

An astute mind will quickly see ====> “Holy Shit, the tunnel is still just TWO lanes!”

The same astute mind will ask ====> “Won’t adding MORE lanes create an even BIGGER BOTTLENECK at the point of entrance???”

This was actually brought up by some astute traffic engineers. However, they were dismissed as being white supremacist racists.

Your essay echos my views precisely. I’ve lived on the oceanfront all my life. Addicted to the ocean. Now at retirement, I’m looking for a cheaper and less-communist-than-New-York beach for retirement. But beaches are a cheap vacation. They’ve been turned over to White trash up and down the coast. Can’t find one where I’d like to live.

So maybe my Long Beach, in the blue state of New York is where I’ll stay. Twenty thousand in annual property taxes keeps the garbage out and the only hotel is $1000 per night. A day for every Illegal at the beach? The visitors shun the $15 admission and go to Jones Beach next door which is cheaper.

Yea, the twenty-year olds are getting porky, and the local politics are all in with homo flags, and some fat chicks get purple hair and tattoos but us property owners still make the rules.

I may bitch about my $2,000/month real estate taxes. I don’t get jack for them. But what matters, I’ve learned, is what I don’t get!

Not to impugn, (NOT impune)…

mean/median/average
Wordsmiths sometimes dislike numbers, or at least have a hard time grasping them. These words offer us an opportunity to better understand numbers and use their terms more precisely in writing and speaking.

Let’s say we have a set of numbers:

11
23
30
47
56
The mean, sometimes called the arithmetic mean, of this set is 33. The mean is the sum of all the numbers in the set (167) divided by the amount of numbers in the set (5).

The median is the middle point of a number set, in which half the numbers are above the median and half are below. In our set above, the median is 30. But what if your number set has an even number of, er, numbers:

11
23
30
47
52
56
To calculate the median here, add the two middle numbers (30 + 47) and divide by 2. The median for our new list is 38.5.

So far, so good. But what about average? The average of a set of numbers is the same as its mean; they’re synonyms.

Let’s see our terms in action:

Performance is calculated by the arithmetic mean of the returns in an equally weighted portfolio of individual stocks, on a quarterly basis.

The median single-family homeowner in town will pay $175 more in property taxes this year.

Average retail gas prices in California fell 1.3 cents in the last week, putting the average tank of gas at $3.13 per gallon.

While we wordy types may still struggle to understand what an “equally weighted portfolio” is, wonder whether we are median single-family homeowners, or continue to look for lower-than-average gas prices, at least we know how the mean, median, and average were calculated.

So true..

Lately I have made amends with my sister and brother. Rather than get caught up in the woke narrative, engage in arguments, using Stoicism as my guide to instead I just quietly nod my head. Finding it is easier to agree with everything they have to say about this, that and everything else. And yeah to some it could be construed as a cop out. Found it better to not attempt to control what other people think. In the pre-pandemic era it would have been a different story. Not now. Maybe I have finally made the trek thru the five stages of grief. Maybe like you, I am just tired of fighting the fight and now just want to enjoy the freak show. And what freak show it is!

Sunsets and meditation takes my mind off the societal implosion that is at hand. The beach here can be a bit rocky but at least its mine.

Last week my nephew informed everyone that he will now be a niece and sister, a woman and a her.. Crazy times! My sister-in-law, who is a complete lunatic, traipsed him or her or whatever around to family and friends for the big reveal. The SIL seems waaaaaaay too happy with the turn of events. Almost like she was happy to be able to say that she now has another trinket to stick in her progressive intersection stack.

Weird…..

At my parents place nephew, brother and loony SIL entered the sunroom where my parents where having their supper. My nephew promptly plunks himself so that my Dad, 85, can only see his size 12 feet. Announcements and admonishments are made. Meanwhile my nephew or whatever, still plunked on chesterfield, is twiddling with his or whatever phone, moar than likely trolling for likes on FaceBook and retweets on twitter. And through it all probably glad I wasn’t there.

Yep, it’s a freak show alright! The only good news, at least on that day, was there was not a tattoo in sight.

In part you are correct, as indifference does imply consent. Still, the problem as I see it is that the stupid cannot be fixed. And I have found that banging against the walls railing against the narrative leads only to more dents in my head. Not less.

The solution now is a complete societal breakdown. Food riots, massive unemployment, that sorta thing. Reality is the only force that will counteract this craziness being seen. In the meantime people can shuffle thru life for what its worth. Defile their bodies with food and tattoos. And follow their smartphones for the latest trends on Facebook and Twitter. It is not for me to care.

Yesterday, I spent a day out with my brother, whose wife just died of heart failure ( clot shotted twice) and we hit a Waffle House and a few tourist attractions in the small city where he lives. It really is appalling to see the shear number of tattooed, blue haired, meth whore looking spectacles that are now attempting to pass themselves off as the fairer sex and the greasy, necked tattooed, blubberpusses who accompanied them. I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming confirmation that America is no longer a civilized Christian nation, but a barbarian shit country, populated by narcissistic-look at me-idiots dedicated to nothing other than self gratification and there is no way back to a sane, civilized society except though Divine intervention.

On a positive note, my wife just remarked to day, while enjoying a DQ Hot fudge sundae, that everyone needs to put on as many pounds as possible, in order to prepare for the starving time. …Carlin wasn’t always a cynic.

This summarizes much of my own view as well. It’s a numbers game and the demographics aren’t there. There will be no saving America because there isn’t much left to save. And it doesn’t matter whether the nation died by accident or design. It’s just a half-rotted whale on the beach and fighting to get it back into the water does nothing. You might as well plant a dead tree in good soil or a dying flower in contaminated dirt.

I see school kids looking like orcs created by frankenfood: young girls sporting large bellies and boys with boobs. Woke teachers and parents with green and purple hair, tattoos on their proud faces, wearing rainbow buttons as flair, and with their BLM lawn flags waving in the air.

I was talking to a 60ish-year-old financial industry guy this week who told me about his 48-year-old nephew who died suddenly. The nephew was recently given a clean bill of health by his doctor but now the family “had some questions” for the doctor because the deceased died of a greatly enlarged heart.

Since my friend worked in the financial services sector, I asked if he had seen any of the articles earlier this year regarding insurance companies reporting a significant increases in mortality for younger-aged people. I also asked if he knew about the many reports of young athletes collapsing.

He said he’d heard something about the athletes and asked me my opinion as to the cause. I asked him if it might be the spike protein in the Covid vaccines causing blood clots and added that some medical experts have speculated as much. But my friend didn’t think that could be the cause because he’s had 4 Covid jabs himself.

Oh. Well OK then. There you go.

So no minds will be changed until after its too late. And it’s already too late.

Therefore, perhaps the phrase “rage against the machine” is just another way of saying you can’t stop a tidal wave so you might as well try.

Definitely choice #2. The more a pendulum is pushed one way, the further it ultimately snaps back the other way. But it will be several countries, not just one. Perhaps as many as a dozen. (The USSR split into 15, after all.)

Admin says: “The owners have used the stupidity of the average person, created by decades of useless indoctrination in government run schools, to enslave people in debt and turn them into non-thinking consumers, who beg the owners to tell them what to think, believe, or inject into their bodies.”

Respectfully, I disagree. It is not the average, or below average types that have caused it. I have become convinced it is the above average intellect types that have caused it. Does joeAverage believe that climate change is an issue? Nope – it is above average soccer moms that push that narrative. That BLM is an issue? Nope – soccer mom types again. Etc etc etc. Transgender issues? The average types don’t give a shit about that stuff, or despise it.

The idiots are indeed easily led. But it is the more affluent left leaning assholes that have done all the true damage. And that support the narrative their “leaders” put forth. Don’t blame the stupid. This ain’t on them.

Many young people today are motivated to stand out using social media. It is such a huge part of their lives.

I believe the young shooter in TX fits that mold–a loner, desperate to be “known” by somebody…anybody. And shooting up an elementary school was his chosen method.

So senseless, but now predicable behavior by these aimless youngsters with no self-awareness or hope.

What you’re so eloquently describing, whether you know it or not, is a country who has lost it’s soul, it’s focus, or purpose for BEING if you will. Our “compass” is flat out broken, so therefore anything goes. Only a very small percentage of Americans have a Bible now days and if they have one, have no interest whatsoever in reading it. This was not always so. In 1776 there was a “Christian” consensus in this land. No, definitely not everyone was a Christian, but Christian values were held in high regard and people had a general sense of right and wrong based on the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. We’ve lost this sense of self and our respect for God Almighty over the years, especially since the early 60’s when one woman, Madeleine O’Hair successfully got school prayer thrown out of the classroom.

It’s been downhill ever since. We’re now at the bottom of the toilet, circling, and the “freak show” you describe is a result of a moral degeneration that’s been going on for decades, if not a century. We’re now at the point of no return… the Rubicon has been crossed and God has reserved us for judgement. The Book says “to whom much is given, much will be required”. I’m afraid MUCH is now what’s going to be required of the American people. I say this as a true Patriot and as retired military… the handwriting is on the wall and we’ve been found wanting… see the book of Daniel to see how it turns out. Repent now and perhaps God will stay His judgement for a season.

I listened to Ron Paul once at a CPAC thing I guess it was doing an overview of 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel, 1st Samuel, 2nd Samuel, the books of Samuel in the Bible. Ron knows the Bible.

Fast forward to the GOP primaries of 2012, South Carolina, a state that supposedly was highly Christian. Ron speaks of the Golden Rule at that debate. I’ll never forget the overwhelming boos generated by that crowd.

Totally agree. Our culture is no longer moored to universal truths. We have two Americas and one believes in ‘personal truths’.

When people aren’t grounded in universal truth they quickly become nihilists. And nihilists quickly become their own god.

Spot on RAFO.

It’s interesting. I see a lot of intellectuals, people that I respect, very capable minds, unable to make sense of the lunatic asylum the entire globe is devolving into. Few of them, no, none of them, (Carlo Maria Vigano excepted) will acknowledge what you state so easily and plainly. What I try to explain to anyone that seems interested (almost no one) is that the global descent into depraved lunacy is entirely predictable, even expected. It’s a simple power vacuum situation. This space time continuum is spiritual first, physical (material) second. As humankind rejects God and he is banished from society, evil will fill the void. The debasement, entrapment, enslavement and destruction of the crown jewel of God’s creation, mankind, will accelerate. No political/ intellectual/ technological solution will be forthcoming. There is only one fix for this. It’s the r word you mention above. Repentance. But the audience for this type of talk is small, and getting smaller.
