What Happened to TWA Flight 800? - HISTORY

TWA Flight 800 - Wikipedia

Shortly after takeoff from New York’s Kennedy International Airport, a TWA Boeing 747 jetliner bound for Paris explodes over the Atlantic Ocean, killing all 230 people aboard. Flight 800 had just received clearance to initiate a climb to cruise altitude when it exploded without warning. Because the plane was loaded with fuel for the long transatlantic journey, it vaporized within moments, creating a fireball seen almost all along the coastline of Long Island.

The tragedy came just two days before the opening of the XXVI Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, and many suspected terrorism. Suspicions of foul play seemed to be confirmed when a number of eyewitnesses reported that they had seen what appeared to be a missile shoot up toward the airline an instant before the explosion. The U.S. Navy and the FBI, in conjunction with the National Safety Transportation Board, launched an extensive investigation of the incident, collecting the scattered wreckage of the aircraft out of the Atlantic and reconstructing the plane in a closely guarded hangar. Despite continuing eyewitness reports, authorities did not come forward with any evidence of a missile or a bomb, and the investigation stretched on.

When it was revealed that several U.S. Navy vessels were training in the Long Island area on the night of the blast, some began to suspect that Flight 800 had been accidentally downed by a navy test missile. U.S. authorities ruled out the possibility of an errant missile strike by the navy, but a number of conspiracists, including former White House press secretary Pierre Salinger, supported the theory. The much-criticized Flight 800 investigation ended in late 1998, with investigators concluding that the explosion resulted from mechanical failure, not from a bomb or a missile.

The flight was clearly shot down, who did it or why will probably never be released, indicating it was most probably friendly fire.

That’s right it was shot down and it took 3 missiles to do it. I believe it was two from a navy ship and one from the shore. When the one from the shore didn’t do the job the navy ship opened fire. What I’m about to say is absolutely true. I was up watching tv in the early morning in the very early am. This was before I knew what had happened. All of a sudden the feed cut to these navy guys on their row boats with long poles snagging bodies. I was like WTF, I can’t believe they’re showing this. One navy guy said something to the affect that if the American people knew what happened…Then the feed cut off. ABSOULUTLY TRUE story. Anyway there’s or use to be a good documentary on YouTube describing how it was shot down. The reason: there was someone on there that knew too much and was escaping and that’s how they took him/her out.

I try not to reflexively buy into conspiracy theories, but way too much evidence the official investigation was a coverup, starting with the FBI and CIA being in charge and the NTSB having almost nothing to do with it.

They got away with the cover-up and it only emboldened them.

I have a personal relationship with that accident. I was on Long Island that night on the beach with friends watching planes head out over the ocean on their way to Europe. We called it a night shortly before it was shot down or I would have seen it. The High School kids were from a local school and some of my offices still have the original “TWA 800 Always in Our Hearts” stickers that no one will ever remove.

Strangely I was on a work conference call with people from Texas and FL a few years back. I mentioned TWA 800 because it was an anniversary and one of the participants said, “Bob*, tell him your TWA 800 story” *Can’t remember his name.

Bob was in the Army and his group was being deployed to Germany that week. They were supposed to fly out of NYC. A few days before they were to deploy, their flight plans were changed drastically. Instead of NYC they were going to fly west through Korea to get to Germany. It made no sense to anyone but afterward they were all thankful for the rearranged plans.

Between TWA 800, Egypt Air 990, and the things I saw happening with government warrant-less access to telecom before 9/11 I had my eyes opened.

“If it flies, it dies.”

Motto for the following MIC group:

“If It Flies, It Dies”

Civilians, men, women and children, their homes, public spaces and certainly their vehicles: on the sea,in the air, and on land,) make for such stupid- EASY targets, yes?

(Auntie is going to be sick, again. Cannot get the Uvalde massacre out of mind.)

One violent death is a tragedy.

230 violent deaths is business as usual.
