He deserved it for being so boring. I found myself looking at his audience and saying I don’t want to know those people. Maybe I need a shrink.

So people who trespassed on Capitol grounds are arrested as political criminals, and imprisoned without trial or bail, and a man who attempted to assassinate a US Congressman is released on bail in hours.
Tell me this system is not completely and utterly corrupt. Time to disassemble it.

This case may actually be more informative as to the often-ignored internal decay of the US, especially relative to the Military, if assessed in that context.

I noted that Jakubonis was well equipped with paraphernalia announcing his Veteran status, at the time of the attack, and seems to have withdrawn into a Veteran identity, however his MOS appears to have consisted of working as Lab Tech, specifically – 432nd Blood Supply Detachment.

Despite the likelyhood that he never participated in any combat, or ever patrolled, he was apparently issued a Bronze Star.

My grandfather fought in a special weapons platoon during freezing conditions in the Hurtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge – his unit took a 175% casualty rate in combat – and because he was killed in 1945 before the Bronze Star was allotted to all Combat Infantrymen in 1947 (he was long since buried in Belgium and would have some difficulty claiming it..), he never received it..

Jakubonis – who spent his time in an air conditioned, cleanroom lab, was served up a “Medal Inflation” Bronze Star, making the entire awards system a total joke for those who actually went into combat and faced danger.

I have noted on some recent jobs that every single veteran that I worked with is receiving monthly disability payments at this point, without exception.

None of these guys are missing body parts, all are capable of working, but all are getting a couple grand a month for an asserted ‘disability’ after 4 years in the Global Occupation forces. It would be interesting to learn if Jakubonis was getting some military disability payment, and if so, what injury was he claiming to have sustained.

If someone has a legit injury from military duty or combat, the VA and nation have a duty to help them, and make them whole of any loss, however if you enlist people who intend to claim multiple losses who have never seen combat, and begin to grant them all go-away payments, you not only damage the American citizenry, but create a class of people who have a lot of time on their hands for mischief.

I noted several cases where guys who were perfectly able to put on cheap chinese tactical vests and push their way into the Capitol were receiving claimed disability pensions from the military, although they were perfectly able to drive long distance to DC and ramble around town on foot.

The message I take away from this case is that while we need to help those who have sustained losses due to service, or who have been adversely affected by foreign adversaries, paying out huge lifetime bonuses to anyone who joins a global military occupation returns 360 degrees of negative consequences.
While people who legitimately face danger should be applauded, taking this to a maudlin extreme of pandering to anyone with a gas-station purchased recognition cap seems like a potential underlying factor to this incident.
