College is a scam. They intentionally made the tuition unaffordable so that most would have to take out loans. Then they outsourced all the jobs to ensure college grads ended up working at Starbuck’s and couldn’t pay their loans back. This created a serf class which is exactly what they wanted. The education they received is so subpar that they can’t even figure out that the banks are the source of their misery. They blame “capitalism”. Hint: America stopped being a capitalist country in 1913.
Meanwhile those colleges sit on billion dollar endowments.
Sometime around 1970, the universities realized they could make billions of dollars by selling the mere illusion of education, and not actual education. Suddenly, instead of being limited to customers with an IQ of 120 or above, they could sell their product to anyone, even a major demographic with an IQ of 85. Of course all those low IQ students didn’t have the money to pay the universities, so a deal was struck. The Federal government would act to facilitate trillions of dollars in bank loans to the chumps, and then funnel that money straight to the universities. In return, the universities promised that they would train the chumps to always vote for bigger government.

When the government got involved in providing loans and grants to students, the prices began to soar. I went to Junior College one year and paid my tuition, books & lab fees with a $150 scholarship, plus I got to sell a bunch of my books back at the end of the semester.
A semester of full classes at University of Colorado was $1200 in 1978.
A year of college at an excellent state school was $2400. A real degree
for under 10k. It’s over 12x that now. And the degree other than STEM is worthless.
In 1970 at OK State, I paid $14.25/credit hour tuition, plus $1/hr for student activity fees & $.50/hr parking fee. By ’74, tuition was up to $17.50/hr. + fees. I think the JUCO was $6.25/hr plus some fees. I had to pay all of my schooling costs, so the $150 scholarship was a real Godsend.
I studied hard in HS and had enough credits to graduate as a junior.
My senior year was something I would never miss because I loved
team sports and was good at them to where I was offered numerous
scholarships. I turned them down when I got my AP scores back and
went to CU as a sophomore. No scholarship could make up for a free year.
Truth! This socialist democracy from hell has been in charge since. Time for it to fall.
In my house, it was 6. Dad worked as a lineman for the electric utility and Mom stayed home to look after the house and kids. We never went hungry, we always had clothes & shoes that fit and we took daily baths. Every one of our friends were just like us and happy with our lives.
