Russia Officially Halts Natural Gas Flows Via Nord Stream 1

Authored by Charles Kennedy via OilPrice.com,

Russian Gazprom has officially halted gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, cutting off flows completely to Germany for a period of maintenance that began at 01:00 GMT Wednesday and is scheduled to end at 01:00 GMT on Saturday.

Fears are mounting across the European Union that Russia will delay flows beyond September 3rd as the Kremlin continues to use natural gas as a weapon against Western sanctions – an allegation Moscow has repeatedly denied.

Gazprom has said the cutoff would be temporary, as planned, noting that the pipeline would restart after three days “provided that no malfunctions are identified”, as reported by the New York Times.

Once flows are restored in three days, according to Gazprom, it will be 20% of the pipeline’s capacity – the same level of capacity since flows were restored following July’s maintenance.

This is the second time in as many months that Gazprom has halted supplies on the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. In July, flows were halted for maintenance for a period of 10 days, but capacity was limited, with Gazprom claiming paperwork delays for a turbine held up by sanctions in Canada, and Europe claiming Moscow was using this move in a game of leverage.

Europe has been scrambling to fill its gas storage ahead of the winter months and is now on track to achieve its goals two months ahead of schedule.

Inventory data from Gas Infrastructure Europe on Sunday showed that the European Union had filled its winter reserves to 79.94%, while it is targeting 80% by the first of November, according to Business Insider.

The European Union is closer to potentially intervening in the bloc’s electricity market as energy prices soar ahead of what would be a difficult winter for EU consumers and businesses.

Earlier this week, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the bloc was working out an emergency plan for intervening in energy markets, saying that soaring electricity prices were “exposing, for different reasons, the limitations of our current electricity market design”.

“We need a new market model for electricity that really functions and brings us back into balance,” the EC president said.

We live in a sea of stupid people who would rather accept what the magic box says than think. It is pretty fucking hopeless. I am not only expecting societal collapse, I am eagerly waiting for it. Seeing these roaches die from cholera, dysentery, etc. because the water system is down and they have no clue about the dangers of dirty water is going to be mega-Schadenfreude.

Maybe at the end of all this we will be thanking TPTB for cleaning the gene pool. Not likely, but maybe.

The Germans put a noose around their neck when they universally adopted the “green” mantra. Russia is now slowly tightening the noose and the actions of the Germans are daring them to tighten it even more. It is almost amusing how the German government has done everything in their power to let Russia control them and they continue to demonize them. Putin is sitting in his dacha smiling at how easy it is to take Europe to its knees.

When I heard about this Nordstream One shutdown on NPR yesterday, they said that Germany claimed to be on track to fill its gas storage facilities before winter and that their reliance on Russian “energy” had fallen to about 10% of their total needs. I don’t believe either of those assertions. I think Norway has diverted some of its gas production to Germany, and of course Germany has been re-starting its lignite (dirtiest coal) electricity generation, but overall they’re probably bullshitting. And it was NPR, aka US state-affiliated media.

Even if the rest of Europe has been successfully brow-beaten into favoring Germany and its industries, moving energy around doesn’t solve the problem. Witness the Irish coffee shop owner who got an electricity bill of 9,800+ Euros for 73 days’ power.

I’m sure you saw the post where Georges had to travel from Frankenstan to Luxemburg just to get heating oil & coal and the suppliers were running short there, as well. France had a robust nuclear electrical generating system, but decided it best to shut it down because it was not “green” enough.

Euroland, as a whole has shut down their successful energy streams to become dependent on Russia and seem to be surprised that Russia is striking back after being slapped in the face by them.

Will the people ever wake up and realize it is their own governments who are doing this to them, rather than Putin?

It sounds like quite a bit of oil is being transshipped from Russia through India, Saudi Arabia and other countries to get around sanctions. All that does is raise the price for the US consumer and does nothing to hurt Russia.

Of course- oil is fungible just like money. The leaders- the real ones- aren’t stupid, just incredibly evil.

Covid wasn’t enough to kill off the middle class and small independent businesses so now $10,000 Euro power bills. That should do the trick. Only businesses controlled by Blackrock, Vanguard and State Street will be allowed.

“they said that Germany claimed to be on track to fill its gas storage facilities before winter and that their reliance on Russian “energy” had fallen to about 10% of their total needs.”

You’re right not to believe any of that. The gas storage is filled when there is reduced gas demand to ensure that storage plus flow is sufficient to get the country through winter. Storage, even if full, won’t do it if the pipelines are operating at today’s reduced capacity. LNG facilities don’t exist to replace Russian gas, oil and coal aren’t like for like substitutes.

Earlier post that is probably more relevant here in this article.

I was missing the point until late last year that all this death is in reality monetary policy. The USD $17.66 trillion printed up by Trump and Mnunchin from Sep 2019 through Jun 2020 via REPO would have triggered hyperinflation and total economic collapse of the world so the virus was released to justify the lock downs and crush immediate consumer demand. This way the demand destruction would immediately offset the hyperinflation while that USD $17.66 trillion floated around in the system buying up tech stocks, bitcoin, NFTs (to launder the profits), art, high end real estate etc.

But not all of that free USD $17.66 trillion found its way back to the US Treasury and that was expected so they needed a device to kill off intermediate consumer demand to combat the hyperinflation over the following 3 to 5 years so that is why we got the killer vaxx. And because the western world is where the great majority of consumer demand is the killer vaxx was pushed hard in the western world. China went along as they had no choice because when the host dies (USA) so too does the parasite. Africa has little consumer demand so that is why their vaccination rates are so low – they are economically immaterial to global monetary policy.

However the killer vaxx didn’t work on humans as quickly as it did on ferrets so TPTB are in a quandary – the window of blame has closed and all these deaths can’t be explained by SARS-CoV-2 infections. And with all these extra people still alive some other intermediate demand destroying mechanism is required so we now have the war in Ukraine and purposely idiotic government policy to drive up energy prices to the point not one factory outside of China (powered by coal of course) still makes anything. That is the whole facade behind the so called Green New Deal – it is in reality a tool of monetary policy masquerading as ethics to quash consumer demand and reduce the hyperinflation. So the demand destruction will come about by both vaxx deaths and high energy costs. And remember, high energy costs are regularly used as a monetary policy tool as I’m sure most of you remember the high energy costs orchestrated in the 1974 Arab-Israeli war to drive up oil prices and increase the demand for the new fiat US Dollars where the increased demand for fiat kept the new totally fake currency from collapsing. Thus with energy shut off to northern Europe in winter the coming wave of vaxx deaths can now be blamed on Russia as well as everything else.

When one contemplates the situation through their filters of ethics and empathy, the true situation will remain clouded. Sometimes it really s about controlling the world.

Hold tight – it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

August 31, 2022 10:39 am

The sequence and condensed timing of events is what has me convinced that the Sep 2019 liquidity freeze was the singularity event. To summarize –

1) Sep 17th 2019 short-term credit freezes up in REPO market.
2) Sep 19th 2019 Trump signs EO 13887 Modernizing Influenza Vaccines in the United States To Promote National Security and Public Health.
3) Sep 2019 Trump / Mnunchin begin injecting USD $17.66 trillion into REPO market. Liquidity injections run from Sep 2019 through Jun 2020.
4) October 18th 2019 World Military Games open in Wuhan China where there is a BSL 4 (cover) and US team stays in hotel 1 block from wet market epicenter.
5) On same day Oct 18th 2019 that World Military Games begin, Event 201 is held to simulates an outbreak of a novel zoonotic coronavirus transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually becomes efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a severe pandemic (taken directly from this event’s website).
6) Dec 31st, 2019 WHO declares SARS-CoV-2 emergency without being in possession of an isolated virus.
7) May 15th 2020 Operation Warp Speed declared as per EO 13887 guidelines and lands on mRNA solution despite 15 years of plentiful animal research showing mRNA injections kill the recipients.

There is also no coincidence in the Gregorian math:
1353 – Black Death ended
2019 – SARS-CoV-2 declared as “begun”

2019 – 1353 = 666

It has Lucifer’s blessing in the numbers. The pandemic isn’t the coronavirus, it’s the US Dollar fiat currency that demanded the vaccines to kill off consumer demand.

Trump isn’t that smart. Also there are multiple samples of blood from 2018 mostly in Asia and West Africa that contain antibodies to the 2019-2020 strains of Covid.

The Ethical Skeptic has a pretty thorough (and evolving) theory of a proto-Covid (perhaps a proto-omicron) that swept through (perhaps was released in) Asia making for a bad 2018 “flu” season and conferring a high degree of immunity to the 2020 variants. Even if you believe that China was super good at lockdowns (they are strangely attached to lockdowns even now), other countries in Asia were largely unaffected by Covid in 2020.

It’s not about Trump being smart or not that smart, it’s about Trump being told what to do and say by the owners of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA corporation.

Had heard about this SE Asian immunity wave – could have been prerun like how 25% of Ukrainian PoWs are turning up positive for exposure to West Nile virus. TPTB have big plans though for the likes of Indonesia (will become the new China in 20 years) and thus they needed the warm bodies to fill the coming factories.

But then that which does not kill us can only make us stronger. Too bad it can’t make us smarter.

That would have made some difference but the big problem for the Fed was they switched to pure fiat back in Aug ’71 without a big foreign demand increase for US dollars. Closing the gold window didn’t stimulate the demand for US Treasuries they thought would follow so they cut a deal with Aramco to only sell oil in US fiat in exchange for the foreign equity and engineered the scripted 1973 Arab-Israeli War. That drove up the price of oil and sent demand for the US fiat exploding and kept the fiat from collapsing.

I addressed this in The Evolution of Fiat Money, Endless War, and the End of Citizenship some time back.

Blackouts threaten Germany as the proliferation of heat pumps and e-vehicles drives power demand to new heights

Here’s a disturbing report out of Starnberg, a wealthy suburban town south of Munich, where years of sustainability woo coupled with recently rising gas costs have induced an unfathomable demand for heat pumps. As the energy crisis looms and people fight to avoid high heating bills, these are subject to almost year-long back-orders.

There’s only one problem:

Despite all the euphoria … [h]eat pumps need electricity, and at the same time more and more e-vehicles are being connected to the grid. “In the Fall, all our lights are going to go out,” says [heating company chief Bernd] Krüger. And yet the absurdly long backorders could potentially forestall a blackout. At least that’s what [another heating company executive named] Achim Richter … is hoping for.

As prices for oil and gas have risen enormously, consumers are looking for alternatives. Those who can afford it, have heat pumps installed. Those who can’t are going to the hardware store and buying electric heaters, Krüger says … And all of that requires electricity, but the grid isn’t designed for it … “We’re not going to be able to do that. The power grid is going to collapse. The blackout will come for sure.”

We’re looking at nothing less than the total failure of green energy policies.
