No, “sustained homeownership” ALSO requires that you can afford a lawn mower and gasoline to keep the property maintained, can replace the roof when it needs it, get it re-painted when it needs it, replace the water heater ideally before it fails and floods your home/basement, can repair the stove, refrigerator, etc. or replace them as needed, can afford the ever-increasing property taxes the useless fucks in the county or city government impose on your property, pay the ever-increasing water bills, power bills, gas bills, sewer bills, etc. The problem is that nobody wants to face the truth that homes are money pits that those who have lived below their means can afford and those who cannot even scrape together $10 for a down payment CANNOT!!! Abraham Lincoln (may he burn in hell), once told a Nebraska gathering that owning your own business and being independent and prosperous, was the American Dream. Now for some reason it is owning a house that you never truly own thanks to government taxation. Funny thing… Countrywide was doing this, but for anybody with good credit scores, in 2004. The local rep when I first moved to CA told me I qualified to buy a $750,000 house. I had absolutely no income at the time or the previous 3 years other than the proceeds from the sale of my house in PA & was physically unable to work. We all know what happened with Countrywide. Right? What could go wrong?
Hopefully BOA isn’t too big to fail & goes tits up, but we know that wont happen. I just rolled a bunch of debt into a mortgage redo when rates were still at rock bottom trying to keep the $$ local as well. The mortgage was resold twice before I paid the 1st payment. I think Fannie owns it now but send payment to some place in Joisey. WTF, over?
