And then Reagan proceeded to gut the public to enrich his buddies. What a farce.

Watched in real time as Reagan tried to get Congress to live up to their promise to reduce deficit spending. The Dems controlled Congress and make no effort to do so. Big surprise, huh.
If you want to gripe about tax money being misused during the Reagan years, look to Congress – which puts together and passes the budget. I also remember Reagan refusing to sign the budget busters, and the pork-ridden temp measures Congress passed during that time. Reagan only signed the final bill because that was what the public was calling for, and Reagan was not an emperor who could ignore the populace. Still took a while before he signed it though.
Sure, Reagan pulled some ??interesting?? moves, but the budget thing rests squarely on Congress.
An addendum: to get anything done in DC, Reagan had to work with two groups of people.
The Dems, who were opposed to what he was doing.
The GOPe, who were opposed to what he was doing.
It’s a bit of a miracle that he got anything worthwhile done.
I’d put exposing the GOPe for what they were, to anyone who was paying attention and hadn’t noticed it yet, as one of those.
Oh, the irony of Wilson talking up liberty and talking down .gov . . .
Wilson is about as believable talking about liberty as the average cop is talking about the Bill Of Rights. Ohhh, but he expressed regret after creating the Fed so I guess it’s alright. . .
