DNA From 2 Million Years Ago Reveals Arctic Utopia That Was 50-65 Degrees Warmer

Via ZeroHedge

Two-million-year old DNA from northern Greenland has pushed back the genetic record by 1 million years to a time when the Arctic region was 50-65 degrees warmer, and home to abundant wildlife – including mastodons, lemmings and geese, The Guardian reports.

This illustration provided by researchers depicts Kap København, Greenland, 2m years ago. Photograph: Beth Zaiken/AP

According to researchers from the University of Cambridge and University of Coppenhagen, the northern peninsula of Greenland – which is now a polar desert – once contained boreal forests of popular and birch trees that were teeming with wildlife.

“A new chapter spanning 1m extra years of history has finally been opened and for the first time we can look directly at the DNA of a past ecosystem that far back in time,” said the researchers, Prof. Eske Willerslev, adding “DNA can degrade quickly but we’ve shown that under the right circumstances, we can now go back further in time than anyone could have dared imagine.”

Willerslev added that similar techniques could someday be used to uncover insights into the first humans and their ancestors.

Willerslev and colleagues worked for 16 years on the project, which resulted in the DNA of 41 samples found hidden in clay and quartz being sequenced and identified. The ancient DNA samples were found buried deep in the Kap København Formation, a sediment deposit almost 100 metres thick that built up over 20,000 years. The sediment, tucked in the mouth of a fjord in the Arctic Ocean in Greenland’s northernmost point, was eventually preserved in ice or permafrost and lay undisturbed by humans for 2m years.

Extracting and analysing the DNA was a painstaking process that involved piecing together tiny fragments of genetic material that first needed to be detached from clay and quartz sediment. It was only the advent of a new generation of DNA sequencing techniques that allowed the scientists to identify and piece together extremely small and damaged fragments of DNA, through referencing extensive libraries of DNA collected from present-day animals, plants and microorganisms. -The Guardian

Once they pieced together the fragments, a picture emerged of forests teeming with reindeer, rabbits, lemmings and mastodons – the latter of which have previously only been found in North and Central America.

No carnivores were found, most likely because they were fewer in number, however the researchers speculated that there were likely ancient sabre-toothed tigers, wolves or bears.

“We don’t know what was there, but probably something that ate mastodons and reindeers,” said the authors, adding that it’s encouraging that these species have been able to thrive so far north in a region that would have still been cast into darkness for much of the winter due to its location.

“The data suggests that more species can evolve and adapt to wildly varying temperatures than previously thought,” said Dr Mikkel Pedersen, of the Lundbeck Foundation GeoGenetics Centre at the University of Copenhagen and co-first author.

Over two million years ago was before North American Continent moved north enough to cut off the flow of warm Pacific Ocean water over the North Pole at Alaska (The plate is still moving north on the east side of the San Andreas Fault) . After 2 million years ago, the North Pole ocean froze and the twenty 100,000 year cold-warm cycles began (90,000 cold and 10,000 warm). PS: North America and the The Sahara Desert have also experienced 20 major Climate changes over the last 2 million years. The World is presently experiencing a Grand Solar Minimum (The Eddy Minimum 2000-2050e, ref the Maunder Minimum). Global Warming (esp by CO2), Chem-spraying, the CV-19 Shot and Vote Fraud Denying are lies and planned Genocide by the Oligarchs.

dating the past is a bit tricky, I like Graham Hancock’s theory of a cataclysmic flood from a meteor strike around 9600 BC. The way they rewrite what happened over the last three years, I have little to no faith in standard historical timelines beyond which I have a living relative that can verify. Look up Howdie Mickoski -“exposing The worlds Fairs” and the westward orphan trains of the late 1800″s for an eye opening look at at the recent past

One likely Theory is that Venus was a Comet that came so close to Earth that it caused a twice daily tide that got as high as 5,000 ft (as evident by rock carvings above 5,000 ft) and Venus’ sudden appearance in astronomic rock carvings. Venus then settled in its’ current orbit.

The destruction that occurred from this is recorded in more than rock carvings; it happened more than once and is written of multiple times over from ancient peoples all over the earth. Landscapes were changed, what was up was now down, seas changed boundaries, etc and many people died. Only pockets, remnants, remained. It is recorded by those ancients that even all the stars above them were totally different after the comet Venus passed by on a regular schedule. That’s how much destruction occurred every time it did.

They exist, you just don’t care to accept what they are. And “We’re still looking” borders on a lie. I am sure you and your kind are doing everything they can to NOT look for something that would raise awkward questions.

But, it’s a lot more than they have found for the existence of Adam and Eve. Or Cain and Able. Or Jesus. Or Moses.

I just cannot get my head around the belief that there is some all knowing, all powerful being that would create something as fucked up as the human race on purpose.
It is really clear to me that we are no more than an animal that developed the ability to think logically, but have not evolved enough to actually act logically.
We still mostly act on our animal instincts even though we know they are wrong and self destructive.
As a species we are neither intelligent or civilized. In truth we are basically a species of psychopaths trying desperately to rationalize our lives and actions while we continue to activity peruse self destruction.

Neanderthals actually had a larger brain than we do. In fact mankind’s brain grew steadily larger up to about 30K years ago, at which time it began shrinking and that trend continues today. Some people theorize that civilization may be the reason why.

Ok hold on just a minute.
“Extracting and analysing the DNA was a painstaking process that involved piecing together tiny fragments of genetic material… new generation of DNA sequencing techniques that allowed the scientists to identify and piece together extremely small and damaged fragments of DNA…”

So what they did was find broken fragments of DNA, then use a computer program to fill in the blank, to “guess” what the missing parts should be.

This is the same bullshit they used to make up SARS COV 2. This is why there is no imaging of an actual SARS-CoV-2 organism, it’s all computer created imagery.

The RT-PCR test for covid? It detects a fragment of viral DNA and amplifies it until a positive test result can be generated.

BS stories like this one are used to normalize this method of made up organic identification to lend validation to the way in which C-19 was either made up or misidentified.

It all plays on people ignorance and appeals to authority, like Mr Science himself. DNA, even if stored under ideal and controlled environment, would not be detectable in less than a million years.

There are MANY problems with the uniformitarian evolutionary rubbish.

deposit almost 100 metres thick that built up over 20,000 years.

A hundred meters, 300 feet. Where did this clay material come from??? And I bet that if you looked at the edges of the layers above and below this deposit they will be knike like thin, no evidence of erosion. How gould that happen?? Then there are the soft tissues found in dinosaur bones that are supposed to be 65 plus million yrs old. Soft pliable tissue does not and cannot be preserved for millions of years, period.

Something tells me that maybe Mr Science has been wrong about a LOT of things and works hard to keep the illusions alive.

A couple of excerpts from ‘the guardian’ article that the author left out …

‘The work offers clues to how species might adapt, or be genetically engineered, to survive the threat of rapid global heating …

‘However, the speed of global heating today means that many species will not have enough time to adapt, meaning that the climate emergency remains a huge threat to biodiversity. Willerslev and colleagues said studying ancient ecosystems could provide clues to how some species were genetically adapted to a warmer climate.

“It is possible that genetic engineering could mimic the strategy developed by plants and trees 2m years ago to survive in a climate characterised by rising temperatures and prevent the extinction of some species, plants and trees,” said Prof Kurt Kjærr, of Copenhagen University and a co-author. “This is one of the reasons this scientific advance is so significant because it could reveal how to attempt to counteract the devastating impact of global warming.”

The whole ‘global warming’ BS is so very alive and well in ‘the guardian’ …

The obvious conclusion is that at the time when those plants and animals inhabited the Arctic, it was not the Arctic, it was somewhere else. Crustal displacement theory explains that the earths crust is a thin layer of solid crust with a sea of molten liquefied rock below. When effected by strong enough gravitational forces, the earths crust can slip like a loose skin of an orange and continents end up in different positions. As the relationship of the sun to the earth does not ever change, it is idiotic to believe that plants that require certain minimum hours of sunlight could possibly survive in a polar region where it is impossible for them to grow even if temperatures did change.
It is clear that at the point where those plants grew in the Arctic areas, those areas were at a much lower latitude.
