I call it an exercise in situational awareness.
In the late 70s I was learning how to mechanic at a small truck and warehouse company in Long Beach. The company was slowly going out of business for a variety of reasons and the end came when the Teamsters represented drivers and warehousemen couldn’t agree on a contract and went on strike.
The union would send goons from the hiring hall to help man the picket line. It was an ugly scene with drinking, hollering cat calls at the women office workers, pissing in the street, harassing truckers and threatening violence.
One day an independent trucker was heading through the gate when one of the goons approached the truck with a metal spike driven through the top of his picket sign, meaning to stick it under the left steer tire.
The driver leaned out of his window with a sawed off shotgun pointed at the goon’s head as the truck slowly rolled through. The goon dropped the sign, threw up his hands and backed away. Everyone backed away.
I was about 17 and almost saw what could happen when someone Fucked Around And Found Out.
The dipshit between the trucks trailer and the pup he was towing, should not have been there. As is obvious. The only reason he was there was to try and uncouple the pup or removing the brake line connection between the truck and pup, trying to disable it. Which isn’t gonna work which he is likely still kick’n himself along with the demons currently surrounding him.
