It was Christmas – on a Sunday, this year. The Waffle House is open on Christmas. WTF. And none of the customers are even observing Christmas.
I’m not religious, but even my town, about 30K population here in Commiechusetts is mostly closed on Christmas – and Thanksgiving, Easter . . .
In the Bible Belt nothing is opened on Sunday year ’round. Excepting large corps, of course.
I see the apes, gorillas, and chimps at the local zoo came out to play. I have certain rules I abide by – Rule 1: I do not go to places where the majority of workers are nigs. Rule 2: I do not go to a place where the majority of patrons are nigs. Rule 3: Carry a gun anyway.
I notice that rules 1 & 2 generally preclude the need for implementing rule #3.
That’s pretty much my flight plan as well.

I have nothing but fond memories of the Waffle House from the 90’s. Friendly and competent staff, fast service, and the food was always cooked to order. Was it anything other than a quick meal for a hungry traveler? Not really, but its consistency was admirable no matter what state you were in. It never fails to shock me to see people behave with such violent impunity over the most minor complaints and feel that they are justified in their behavior.
People are going to miss having things like restaurants when they’re all gone, but they just can’t seem to help themselves.
