About the USAA rates below, I was with the USAF and naturally had USAA but when USAA raised my rates sky high, I got on the phone and found out that several hurricanes had destroyed so many cars all over Florida over the last couple years that they raised Florida’s rates. Like home insurer’s, they don’t need our losses!!! I switched companies.
I still bank with them but insure with others.

AFP has learned military-focused USAA has raised car insurance rates in the red, heavily active-duty military and veteran populated state of Florida over 100%.
One source told us his 6 month policy for a 2019 truck went up almost six thousand dollars, or a thousand dollars a month. The USAA Facebook chat is filled with military members in The Sunshine State enraged at the development.

Why not simply go to a different insurer then?
The reason USAA raised rates is because they could, and the State Insurance Commissioner let them.
The solution is taking your insurance premiums and business elsewhere, to another company who will charge less.
I’ve done it before and will be doing it again.
