I had no clue it was even football season. Seems like basketball should be dribbling on now. The worst part of going to see my dad when I was young was suffering through watching sports. Didn’t mind playing sports, but absolutely bored to tears watching it, much to my dad’s chagrin. He does have good taste in other things at least, like movies, music and hunting (not that he ever took me hunting, though we did go to the hunting camp on occasion. Hard to hunt without a gun. Bought my first one by myself long after that in my teens).
My NFL days ended the first time some Broncos took a knee and Elway didn’t blow his top.
Sad that they actually convinced lifelong football fans to abandon their favorite sport over some temporary lunacy.
It is more sad that sports ever became a fixation of adult men.
Especially since it was really TV, not sports. If these squishy overgrown boys were to actually form teams and commit to each other and themselves to stay fit on a basketball court or tennis court, etc., not be obsessed couch potaters, that’d be another thing altogether.
