DEMERIT – A unit of punishment established by sophomoric institutions (ostensibly) to maintain order.
Ex: “I was issued 50 demerits for telling my math teacher that 2+2 = 4 and not 5”
Funny, but not funny at all.
If merit is that which enables people to survive and thrive, merit will eventually win out. Demeritocracy will collapse under its own weight of stupidity and corruption. Darwin always bats last. That is not to say it will be smooth sailing until Demeritocracy fails. It is gonna suck.
