We had black and brown folks flocking to the commodity distribution store. The darker one usually drove nicer cars.
Reminds me of back in the day my mom would get the day old donuts from the supermarket she worked and bring them into the “projects” (I use quotes because these ones weren’t that bad) and pass them out. Had this one kid who would come back and try to get a donut with white powdered sugar all around his mouth and mom would ask him if he had already had one, and he would smile real big with big wide open eyes looking up all innocent and say “no ma’am, I ain’t had no donut yet.” Of course, she would give him another.

T o the contrary, this comment helps demonstrate the ignorance of another “anon” poster; the reason the blacks were brought in and sold by the (((New England))) ship owners (who never could pass up an opportunity to make a buck) , was that the mainly Irish slaves in use could not withstand the heat and diseases of the coastal areas any better than the mainly British plantation owners.
