China is Preparing For War; Is The US Ready?

Authored by Andrew Thornebrooke via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

The ammunition is running low, casualties are immense, medicine and other critical supplies have not come for weeks, and a nuclear attack on the American homeland is imminent.

It is a dramatic scene, more closely resembling a Hollywood drama than any war that the United States has actually fought in the last half-century. It is nevertheless what many expect a war between the United States and communist China could look like this decade.

Both the United States and China are investing record-breaking sums in building up their military capabilities. Leadership on both sides increasingly appears to consider such a conflict as inevitable, despite rhetoric to the contrary.

The cause for that mutual enmity is the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) claim that democratic Taiwan belongs to China, and CCP leader Xi Jinping’s desire to force that unification within a few years’ time.

Xi has ordered the regime’s military wing to prepare for war, and to be ready to launch an invasion of Taiwan by 2027.

Preparing for what would be history’s most ambitious amphibious assault is not the same as actually launching it. But, should the worst occur, the Biden administration or its successor will have to decide either to join the fray, or to let Taiwan stand on its own and fight for its freedom.

Before U.S. leadership decides on that question, however, it must answer another, more foundational one: Can the United States win a war with China?

Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) presides over the first hearing of the U.S. House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, in the Cannon House Office Building in Washington on Feb. 28, 2023. (Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)

‘The Window of Maximum Danger’

Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wisc.) is more invested in the new cold war between the United States and China than most.

Tasked with leading Congress’ new House Select Committee on Strategic Competition with the CCP, he is one of the few movers and shakers in the legislative branch directly engaged in developing an action plan to defend the American people, its economy, and values from CCP aggression.

For him, Russia’s ongoing conquest of Ukraine, and the United States’ failure to deter it, contain all the lessons necessary to prepare for what comes next in Taiwan.

“If we don’t learn the right lessons from the failure of deterrence in Ukraine, authoritarian aggression and the CCP’s malign influence will spread to the Indo-Pacific, and our New Cold War with the Chinese Communist Party could quickly become hot,” Gallagher told The Epoch Times.

“To prevent this, we have to act with a sense of urgency and do everything we can to deter a CCP invasion of Taiwan.”

That plan is much the same as it has been since 1979, when the United States passed the Taiwan Relations Act and agreed to provide the island with the arms necessary to maintain its self-defense.

The strategic landscape 44 years ago was something altogether different, however, and the number of weapons and systems that Taiwan now requires to hold the CCP at threat are immense.

The way Gallagher sees it, neither Taiwan nor the United States is prepared for the possibility of war with China.

Speaking back in November of 2021, Gallagher warned that, “if we went to war in the Taiwan Strait tomorrow, we’d probably lose.”

Gallagher is careful now to avoid similar doomspeak but, when asked if he still agreed with that assessment, his optimism for the United States’ performance in a war with China is palpably limited.

“If the Chinese Communist Party invaded Taiwan today, we would not be well positioned to defend our friend, our interests, or American values in the Indo-Pacific,” Gallagher says.

The United States must choose, he believes, to arm Taiwan to the teeth now or come to Taiwan’s aid at a much greater cost later.

Either way, the choices the United States makes now, he says, will largely determine the conditions of victory and defeat at a later date. To that end, Congress must unite to arm Taiwan and systematically counter the CCP’s malign influence at every opportunity.

“We are in the window of maximum danger,” Gallagher says, “and if we are going to ensure that it’s the U.S.—not the CCP—writing the rules of the 21st century, we need to unite in overwhelming bipartisan fashion to combat CCP aggression.”

Considering we’re working with, *Biden, Blinken, Austin & Milley, the answer will be a brokered peace deal AKA “capitulation” to China’s demands.

*I didn’t include the VP as she’s too busy faking a southern negro dialect upon Rev. Sharpton.

The bad news is that after we lose, we’re going to need to speak Chinese with our new ChiCom overlords, the good news is that I speak Chinese, albeit Cantonese.

Yeah once my uncle told me about his experience at a place called the Chosen Reservoir. The First Marines barely made it back. And they were fighting with a division of battle harden Marines led by NCOs who had fought their way across the Pacific. Fighting a ill equipped army of mal nourished Chi Coms.
This generation of US armed forces, made up put or Woke screen staring millenials wouldn’t be able to beat the Iraqi Army of.Saddam, not anymore, as for them facing a first would style PLA forces, Ho Li Phuck they are going to be crushed.

The forgotten war. Such a travesty. But illustrative as to how quickly the war drums can march the proles to war with a former ally. The constant being the fodder of choice.

When I went to Germany for the first time in the early 90’s my grandpa was pissed. He pulled me aside one day and said “you heard of a man named Adolf Hitler?” “sure”. “well he stole five years of my life and got a lot of my buddies dead”.

There is something clownish and Orwellian about a people who forget so easily but also return so easily to the savagery. Neither lesson seems to stick.

Chiners are the ultimate bug people. They also operate on a long timeline and have a long memory.

The thing about Korea to note as well is that the US military was in a massive demobilization after the yanks saved Hollywood from mustache man. Those hardened NCO’s were really the true war assets. Until the material could be re-mobilized the US was operating on a lot of old and tired war footings.

The thing the chiners have is industry and fodder. Sending farmboys to war without winter coats or rifles is not a problem. Nor is the ability to scale war material production.

While our ladyboy generals would love nothing more to send whats left of Heritage America into the meat grinder, they most certainly do not have the industrial base to make enough coats or rifles.

We’ll see if the dirt people conduit closes as it should. Far too many around here still want to wrap their boys in the flag.

And that industrial base includes those NCOs. I’ve got two brothers retired from GAE dot mil and they have no plans to go to Taiwan or Keeeeve. They know full well the enemy is already inside the wire and has been for a long time. Heck they are plenty pissed that the tradition of service has been forever sullied by those faggot commies. Let alone the rest of the clown car.

That 100 miles of open ocean will be mighty costly to cross. At the first shot, Taiwan will send 100’s of missiles towards the ports in China, likely catching the invasion and or occupation force still in port. Xi’s best bet is to wait until the US completely fails and then use strong “negotiations” to convince Taiwan to sign a mutual security agreement.

tn,
i mostly agree with you —
china is mostly a basket case so unless the taiwanese leaders have intel showing that the chicoms are relatively close to falling, they will never be in a stronger place to negotiate —
that is also the reason that we should be onshoring critical industries that are in taiwan such as chip making, along with securing iron clad agreements that cannot be abrogated if taiwan willingly gives up her sovereignty —

Taiwan does not have hypersonic missiles. China does. Were China to attack first, Taiwan would lose its ability to launch missiles in seconds. It takes less than a miniute for China to hit any target in taiwan, and they have no defense against them. And as we have seen in Ukraine, they are able to take out hardened targets designed to withstand nuclear attack.
I doubt it that senario will ever happen though, because China does not want war. It is the US that wants war.

Whatever the Chinese do, I really doubt it will be anything expected.

The Russians and Chinese, as well as other countries, have had three decades to study and analyze the US weapons and tactics in use today. Tactics for exploiting weaknesses and avoiding strengths have undoubtedly been developed by all.

China is Preparing For War; Is The US Ready? NO, it is not. The US government including the military are basically a bunch of fucking idiots. That fact is playing out in real time in Ukraine as they are pitting their opinions and beliefs agains hard reality and losing badly.
There are 2 undeniable facts about war. War are decided on manufacturing ability, and logistics. The US, as has been proven in Ukraine, no longer has the manufacturing base to be a world military power. Second, the fact that our rivals both have hypersonic missiles, and anti air systems far advanced to anything we have, ensure that we do not posess the logistics to mount any sort of long range war in our rivals back yard.
Not only can China take out any surface ship from a thousand miles, they also have the capability to take out all our refueling bases in the Pacific. While nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines can opperate without fuel, their support vessels cannot. The destroyers and frigits can barely make it to The South China Sea without refueling, they burn 1000 gallons per hour. Ships without fuel are simply sitting targets.
The only weapons the US has that they can get close to China in a time of war are submarines, and long range bombers. That means the only offensive capability we have, would cause all out nuclear retaliation.
Our governement is trying to bluff the Chinese, and as the old saying goes, you never bluff the Chinese, because they will always call your bluff. This current Presidental administration is inept and in way over their heads. They also do not seem to have any reverse gear. That is a very dangerous situation. I only hope that if hostilities do break out, out rivals understand that their enemies are all concentrated along our coastlines.
