Medical Schools Eliminating MCAT in Favor of Diversity

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is “a standardized, multiple-choice examination designed to assess your problem-solving, critical thinking, and knowledge of natural, behavioral, and social science concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine.” Students wishing to study medicine needed to pass this examination to determine if they were suitable for the profession. Now, in the name of diversity, some medical schools no longer require potential doctors to pass this exam because it is seen as racist.

A watchdog group called Do No Harm stated that this is a “dangerous trend.” “The MCAT has been shown to predict who has the best chance to be successful in medical school,” Do No Harm Program Manager Laura Morgan told the DCNF. “Eliminating it removes a proven standard for schools to consider when admitting students who demonstrate the aptitude to be good doctors.” Around 40 medical schools across the US are abandoning the MCAT already.

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the same agency that developed the MCAT, is pivoting away from the old model to test future doctors on holistic measures. They cannot mandate that medical schools require students to take or pass this examination. Some schools, like CUNY, have stated their goals clearly. CUNY wishes to “increase the number of physicians of African-American, Hispanic and other ethnic backgrounds who have been historically under-represented in the medical profession and whose communities have been historically underserved by primary care practitioners.” I don’t know about you, but I do not care about my doctor’s ethnic background, sexual orientation, or gender. I simply want to speak to the most qualified individual. If they wanted to attract more bright minds, they could eliminate the costs of admission to enter the profession in the first place. Medical students are strapped with hundreds of thousands in debt and arguably underpaid as residents.

Medical deaths are the third-leading cause of death in the US. Around 251,000 people die every year in the US as a result of medical malpractice. Diminishing qualifications for doctors who are expected to make life and death decisions is a major threat to public health.

This is happening in important roles across every sector as the woke agenda destroys our culture from within. Biden boasted how he managed to appoint numerous LBGTQ members to his cabinet, more than any other president. Does anyone care? Most of us want the most qualified individuals in positions of power.

An intelligent Primary Care Physician with sharp diagnostic skills is really hard to find nowadays. Most are idiots who check vitals, ask about aches and pains, do a blood workup and/or give out referrals to specialists– then send you another bill for $150 AFTER your health insurance has paid them.

Oops- almost forgot the most vital skill for young doctors- writing prescriptions.

PS: I warn everyone here- please take care of your health. Nursing homes are a nightmare. The staff at the 3 facilities I visit in my area are full of gibbering West Africans with some friendly Philippines, the usual cast of slow-moving American blacks and a few flustered whites trying to do the work of 3 people each.
You should know after the covid nightmare where pts were put in solitary confinement for over a year ” to protect them” or isolation ward/death units if they were positive. You never want to end up in a SNF– make advanced directives if you need to. They will take EVERYTHING you have ever worked for to be admitted, give you cups of meds twice a day and leave you laying in your own chit until noon from the night before. The Africans have nothing but disdain for the old white people and cuss at them and order them like children. Bed sores, muscle contractures, never dressed, uncleaned and over medicated with multiple redundancies ( I find these in the charts often, a pt taking 3 meds that do the same thing or 2 meds that do the opposite of each other).. please stay away from these hell on earth places, stay healthy, stay close with family who can assist- anything but the horror I see each time I go to follow-ups at these houses of Misery.

Javelin,
“the usual cast of slow-moving American blacks and a few flustered whites trying to do the work of 3 people each”.
Goddam, is that ever true. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen that in businesses.
Even in checkout lines at the grocery store…..black woman with a short line or a White women with a long line….where to go? The long line EVERY time.

Several years ago my wife had to have knee surgery. The doc sent us to a hospital that we knew nothing about but I figured he knew what was best. 95% of the staff was black. The only whites were the doctors and head nurses. The head nurse did everything while the other staff did nothing. Never the f@** again.

Why should black workers actually work? They view that paycheck as reparations.

The house of God takes on a whole new meaning.

Was a fun read when I was in Medical School.

I remember that pediatrician “well child visit” when there were no symptoms whatsoever, but for some reason the ear drum was a bit red. Of course, the algorithmic approach is to give antibiotics. How much I had to argue because I refused…(I could’ve just taken the prescription but not fill it, to avoid the argument, but I think it is wrong to just let them get away with such nonsense. Call me stubborn).

We agreed to do nothing and I was going to bring the child back a month later. And waddaya know, no more ear infection! All healed by – doing nothing.

The only doctor I know who I trust is a 68 year old white man, a friend of ours. Trained old school.

Before we moved, we had the same old school doctor for 28 years, and no separate pediatrician. Because a visit to a specialist was at least an hour away, a condition had to be pretty difficult to treat before getting a referral. No running all around town to finally get some help. Our doctor was competent enough to handle difficult cases wisely.

We had an understanding that we would try the least invasive methods first. Drugs were not prescribed unless something simpler didn’t work, or there just wasn’t another option. This doctor was using his own beautiful mind to figure out the best course of action, he was not reading off of a computer screen and only pretending to use his mind as they do now. I miss having a doctor in whom I had full confidence.

Bingo. But now it will be worse because the ones who did use critical thinking skills were either fired or left because they can’t take it anymore.

My couisin-in-law’s mother lives in one of those retirement complexes that costs an arm and a leg to buy into. They guarantee all these services and have 3 levels of care. You can live alone and use their facilities and eat dinner in their dining hall, assisted living and so called skilled nursing. It’s constantly understaffed so you really can’t use all of their services they offer.
Her mother just went into hospice and my cousin has to live with her now. For how long, she doesn’t know but I thought hospice offered someone to come in and stay at night. They are probably understaffed, too.
I’m not sure how long her husband is going to put up with her living with her mother. Btw, she has 4 siblings who do nothing but criticize how she takes care of her mother.

If you want to remain at home and can afford minimum wages for them, you can hire a relative by using them through a temp agency on a short term contract usually 3 or 6 months for a (wink wink) “few” hours a week, that way, you are cared for by someone who cares, they get an actual employment history and so are able to file for unemployment benefits in the off season. This also works for unemployable relatives with a felony on their record.

There is no difference between a medical establishment filled with “doctors” conditioned to refuse to think, and one filled with doctors who can’t think.

If only we had known Baron Harkonnen’s trick to subverting imperial conditioning, the scamdemic would never have happened.

Look on the bright side. If they don’t kill you they certainly will bankrupt you. You’ll be able to get that roomy tent you always wanted and can get some warming sun on the face while taking a dump on elm street downtown. Live’n the life.

Has it occurred to anyone that medical credentialism has succeeded in making medicine less trustworthy than it was in the barber pole days?

“Medical deaths are the third-leading cause of death in the US. Around 251,000 people die every year in the US as a result of medical malpractice.”

Add to this the 450,000 who die from tobacco, and you have an annual pandemic of deaths from medical misteaks(sic) and tobacco use that takes around 700,000 lives a year.

But, “nothing to see here folks, m9ve it along”

[Add in the circulatory related deaths for a cool million plus preventable deaths many years, since before the “Shamedemic”]

The enforced inclusion of melanin-laden individuals in medical schools (forget meritocracy), regardless of qualifications or intelligence level, will pound the last nail into the coffin of any remaining “private practice” in this country. The government’s goal has ALWAYS been to take over and control medicine completely. Their ludicrous and deadly “mitigation measures”, along with the toxic jab, have nearly destroyed public trust in physicians. Granted, many willingly went along with the mandates, and were complicit in their own loss of confidence. Faced with a cadre of incompetent, inconsiderate (read “racist”), and indifferent POC physicians, the public will be grasping at straws to find some semblance of effective medical care. This will be the moment that government officials will ride in on their not-so-white horse to declare they will take care of you, if only you surrender your last vestiges of freedom and privacy (and all your resources, too). “If you think medicine is expensive now, just wait until it’s free”.
