Young Americans don’t understand history of WWII – Kremlin

Via RT

If it doesn’t remember the past, the US will soon be unable to assess the present and future, Dmitry Peskov says Russian soldiers flying the Red Flag, made from table cloths, over the ruins of the Reichstag in Berlin on April 30, 1945

Younger generations of Americans no longer remember who fought against whom in World War II, and even middle-aged citizens are ignorant of the recent past, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has claimed.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary said the lack of understanding of history among Americans was not merely “forgetfulness” but a “pernicious line” and warned of the consequences of such ignorance.

“Not knowing the horrors of the past, not knowing who saved the world from the brown plague (fascism), means that soon in America there will be a generation that will be unable to soberly assess its present and its future,” Peskov said.

He noted that Russia, on the other hand, continues to do everything it can to keep the memory of the heroism of the Soviet people alive and make sure younger generations are aware of the true details of the war.

Peskov also noted the presence of the leaders of former Soviet republics at the May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow, suggesting that this demonstrated the political and social will of those countries to protect this history.

“We will bring these truths to the people of the world, so that those who want to, can study the real facts [of WWII]” he said.

US claims credit for WWII victory over Nazis US claims credit for WWII victory over Nazis

His comments came after White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre attempted on Tuesday to describe Russia as analogous to Adolf Hitler’s Germany, and claimed that the “US and allied forces” were the ones who secured victory in WWII. Jean-Pierre also accused Vladimir Putin of having “promised only more violence” during his address at the May 9 parade in Moscow.

In his speech in Red Square, the Russian president denounced the “disgusting, criminal and deadly” ideology of Western supremacy and the globalists who “pit people against each other, split societies, provoke bloody conflicts and coups, sow hatred, Russophobia and aggressive nationalism, destroy traditional family values that make human a human.”

Putin also claimed that the West had forgotten what “the insane ambitions of the Nazis led to” and who was responsible for defeating “this monstrous, total evil.”

The Soviet Union did the lion’s share of the fighting in Europe, at the cost of 8.7 million soldiers and up to 20 million civilian lives. Victory Day marks the day on which the remnants of the Nazi regime officially signed their unconditional surrender to the USSR and Allied forces at the end of World War II. Although the document was signed in Berlin on May 8, due to different time zones, Russia has historically celebrated the event on May 9. (RT)

Then the Russians raped all the German women. Black U.S. soldiers had their day too. Patton correctly noted in 1945 that the US fought the wrong people.

There’s a you tube video of the Americans at the Elbe river, where we stopped and waited for the Russians, the video is about the Germ Army crossing over a destroyed bridge and surrendering.

But there’s a quick scene of a young girl wearing nothing but a discarded tarp as she staggers away from a camped American Sherman tank early in the morning, clearly it wasn’t just the Russians who did the raping.

From Major Jordans Diaries
by George Racey Jordan

From the Preface

My reason for writing this book is very simple: I would like to keep the record straight. I want to put in permanent form. the full story of my experiences as a Lend-Lease expediter and liaison officer with the Russians during the war, when I served for two crucial years, from May 1942 to Lune 1944, both at Newark Airport and at the big air base at Great Falls, Montana.

I went into the Army as a businessman in my forties and a veteran of World War I. From the first, as my story shows, I worked wholeheartedly on behalf of the Russians because, like everyone else, I considered it my duty to do so. That they were satisfied with my efforts is indicated by the fact that it was Colonel Kotikov, head of the Russian mission at Great Falls, who requested my promotion to Major.

But the tremendous volume of Lend-Lease material going through under “diplomatic immunity,” the infiltration of SOviet agents through the Pipeline, the shipments of non- supplies and even military secrets, were more than I could stomach. I finally protested through proper channels, first in Great Falls, and then in Washington; nothing happened. This was in 1944, while I was still in the Army.

Stalin’s War: A New History of World War II
Sean McMeekin

What Stalin wanted was for the US Navy
to convoy every shipment of war matériel from the East Coast all the
way to the Soviet Arctic, rather than simply from England to
Murmansk and Archangel, as had been done previously.
3
Roosevelt promptly agreed to Stalin’s terms. In March 1942, the
president issued his strongest directive yet prioritizing Stalin’s needs.
Pearl Harbor notwithstanding, Roosevelt ordered Admiral Emory S.
Land, formerly of the US Maritime Commission and now head of the
brand-new War Shipping Administration, to “give Russia first priority
in shipping” and take merchant vessels off Latin American and
Caribbean routes “regardless of other considerations.” Roosevelt
ordered Donald Nelson, the lend-lease administrator in charge of
procurement, to prioritize Russian shipments “regardless of the
effect… on any other part of our war program.” To Hopkins, the
president simply said, “Get enough ships.” The goal was fifty for

In 2014 they held a 70th-anniversary commemoration of the D-Day beach skirmish. All the allied powers were represented except Russia. I watch a report in disgust as that fool of a prince Charles, now a fool of a king prancing around like a peacock bedecked with the medals he earned by outliving his mother. It was pathetic.

Soviet Russia was a Deep Shekels pwnd death camp. The horrors associated with Bolshevik Russia can’t even be put into words and many have tried. It was inhumanly brutal and nothing in history compare to the savagery unleashed on a mostly complacent Christian people, because Deep Shekels needed to know how much demonic torture a human soul can suffer before being released back to the spirit world. …and this is where the Republican and Democrat Party switch roles and the Republican takes a turn at playing the fake and gay conservative, whilst the Democrat Party foments progressive anarchy. smh. Everything is a fucking lie.

“Without tools or shelter or food and surrounded by armed guards who shot anyone who tried to brave the icy river, the prisoners quickly fell victim to starvation, disease, violence, and the brutal elements. And still, additional barges continued to pull up at the island.

Numerous gruesome incidents of cannibalism were reported. So many, in fact, that locals came to call it Cannibal Island or the Island of Death.?

I had the great privilege of growing up in the 60’s with REAL heroes. These men who fought the Germans and the Japanese were all around. Quiet men that spoke little of what they did or saw but when the did speak we boys were in absolute awe of what we heard. Maybe they should have spoke more, told more of what war really is.

I grew up with men who mass murdered German and Japanese’s civilians, too…because ‘ jus’ following orders” none were heroes of any sort, but all suffered broken minds thanks to Deep Shekels war for sport and profit , and most made sure the kids they raised had broken minds too. See 60’s generation.

The West and the Allies lost that war.

What about the surrender of Germany and Japan do you not understand. Normal people realize that that means winning a war. I truly hate agreeing with that fugly dike Karine Jean-Pierre, but the “US and Allied forces were the ones who secured victory in WWII.” The U.S. gave the Soviets tanks, planes, half-tracks, jeeps, artillery, rifles, ammunition, uniforms, boots, food, fuel, raw and finished products, steel machining tools, etc. The Soviets were able to build so many tanks because we supplied them with most of their trucks. If it had not been for the U.S., the Soviets would not have been able to stop the Germans. We bombed German cities which forced the Germans to use 88 mm guns as anti-aircraft guns around their cities instead of anti-tank guns on the Eastern Front. We destroyed so many oil wells and refineries that the Germans, in the last half-year of the war, had to abandon scores of tanks, armored vehicles, and trucks due to fuel shortages. In addition to that, we supplied Britain with many of their tanks in the last three years of the war. It was the American worker and Industry that won the war. You “Hate America First” fanatics need to give it a rest once in awhile.

In a previous post, for another article, a commentator remarked that there were no Russians at D-Day. He was told that it had nothing to do with the Soviets taking the most casualties (due to incompetent leadership) in WWII. He actually made a good point. The U.S. had more successful amphibious landings than all of the other countries (both sides of the conflict) combined. When the Soviets tried an amphibious landing on the Eastern Front during WWII, it failed miserably. The U.S. also had more successful paratroop landings than any other country in the world. We won battles because we either had air supremacy or air superiority. The Soviet did not obtain air superiority until the last few months of the war. They never obtained air supremacy.

Much of what you say is true… sort of. Firstly, you don’t have to be anti American of pro Soviet to state the facts. The Germans lost the war in December of 1941, before any American help was present and before the Americans were at war with Germany. Hitler himself stated if he didn’t capture the Miakop and Gronzy oil fields during operation Blua in 1942 he would have to sue for peace. Capturing those oil fields was a titanic task as it was but even if they did, it was problematic how to get the oil to Germany. This was before any substantial lend-lease arrived and any substantial bombings of Germany. It was in the later stages of the war that lend lease really helped the Soviets. They would not have been able to advance as fast as they did were it not for American trucks.

About amphibious landings so what. Some were successful as on the Kerch Peninsula and some weren’t as near Narva. It is true that the bombings in Germany diverted the 88’s from Russia. However, they were maned by school aged teenagers that wouldn’t of lasted long on the Russian front.

The war between the Soviets and Germans was truly a clash of the titans. I could go on and on but it was the Soviets that lost millions of men using their own equipment defending their country. It was the Soviets that ground down the Wehrmacht. After the first year of war with the Soviets the Wehrmacht was no longer the well oiled machine it once was.

Some of what you say is true … sort of. Read the book “Stalin’s War” by Sean McMeekin. The U.S. and Britain were sending over tanks and airplanes as early as December, 1941. They were shipped even before the U.S. went to war with Japan. The Soviets lost about 20,000 tanks in the first six months of the war. The U.S. and Britain sent over nearly 500 tanks by December, 1941. In addition, the Soviets needed aluminum to build tanks and aircraft. We sent them the aluminum. Stalingrad would not have been a Soviet victory without Lend-Lease.

As far as the Kerch Peninsula, the Soviet amphibious landing north of Kerch was wiped out, the landing south of Kerch was sealed off, and the landing at Feodosiya (west of Kerch) was also sealed off. You can read about the landings in “Hitler Moves East” by Paul Carell. The landings did not accomplish what they were supposed to accomplish. They were not successful.

The Soviets lost millions of men because many of their generals were incompetent. The few generals who were competent were never trusted by Stalin and did not obtain high positions in the military during WWII. In my opinion, Zhukov has been overrated and was no match for Manstein or even Model.

Forget ideologies, the Russians saw a lot of death up close and personal. They will never allow an invasion of their country to go unanswered. The US seems to think they can slowly turn up the heat on Russia and at some point, they will relent. The US administration is gambling with OUR lives and no one seems to care. Young Americans have no concept of what Russia went through in WW2. What is the difference between the US and Nazi Germany in the eyes of the Russians? It’s a trick question there is no difference to the Russians. Just because we run around saying how “noble” we are will not prevent the Russians from nuking us till we glow if Russia is pushed to that point. I pray that never happens as it will be a bad day for everyone.
