Hey m. I may be completely wrong, but is the problem you see some variation on “Well, I didn’t see YOU out there defending the country!”?
Because if it is… There’s a pretty obvious response. Suppose I want my house painted. In fact, suppose my neighbors need their houses painted as well. We form a co-op to run a house painting concern. We dig into our pockets and buy the best house painting equipment money can buy. The best ladders, scrapers, sprayers, and paint — and when I say “the best” I mean it. Way better equipment and training than any other neighborhood in the world, way better than any individual could ever afford. Hell, we even have workers take an oath that their primary purpose is to keep our houses painted.
But they don’t.
The crew foremen tell them to paint houses in Europe, in Africa, in God knows where. And sometimes they just paint graffiti. Instead of doing what they are paid to do, and SWORN to do, they just follow orders that they KNOW are wrong.
Hell yeah, I blame them for not painting our houses. And NO, the problem is NOT that we didn’t get out rollers and paint our own houses. THEY are the ones we hired, trained, and bought the equipment for.

I was shocked when the Air Force obeyed Clinton’s orders. I really, really, thought that “this is such a crime against humanity that the officers of the AF will refuse!” Nope. And that was thirty years ago. The US military has not been defending the US, the American people, or the Constitution for a long time. If they had any interest in defending America, they would have surrounded Washington DC, decades ago and perp-walked half the inhabitants to Guantanamo. Anyone reading this who wants to defend the military, explain to me, tell me just why they have let traitors steal this country and never fired a shot to defend us.
When I see veterans I no longer say “Thank you for your service.” I just say “Glad you made it home safe, Brother.” That’s the best thing I can say without telling a lie.
