Idle musings…
#5. Outdoor roller hockey…the early years
On the 3rd from last, featuring the Gotz boys. In a hat tip to the Guidos, where’s Stu?
The outdoor roller hockey, yes.
Cheryl Tiegs all day long
Valerie Bertinelli too, before Eddie wooed her & produced Wolfie.
Wolfie can shred like hell though, so there’s that.
Raquel Welch
My dad knew Valerie Bertinelli’s dad (worked in a warehouse my dad picked up freight from).
While shopping at a mall in Dallas , in the late 70’s, I saw Cheryl Tiegs conducting some kind of marketing gig , and I was shocked. Up close and personal she looked like a malnourished skinny rat with a bad complexion , which no makeup could not cover. I’ve never look at glamour shots the same.
Models are a fantasy, and the camera adds weight. Keep that in mind. Photoshop has made it even more so.
Yeah I like a woman with some curves too. But not fatties.
Surprised they left out Catherine Bach
So that’s where my tires went!!
The ladies were quite attractive in the day.
Ancient Chinese saying “man who look with Bud Light beer goggles ride bike with tranny wheels”.
Agree completely.
While watching TV shows and movies from the late 80s and 90s, it hit me that girls back then had something else going on. In addition to natural beauty, they put off a vibe that made them even more attractive. Girls nowadays don’t have that. It’s hard to explain. It’s like part of their soul is gone. Dunno. But girls now just aren’t as attractive as they were back then.
Even better in the early 70s through 80s.
Because they’re thin skinned depressed prudes nowadays. The music is depressing too.
OK, gotta say it. To this day, I’m still wild about brown-eyed brunettes, and you included a picture of one reason why – Marie Osmond. In her prime, she was a hottie, though that’s not the best picture of her (above) I can think of. The other reason is Jackie Kennedy, before she became Jackie Onassis. I grew up looking at those two regularly, MO on TV and Jackie O on the front page of all the gossip rags, and just became infatuated with that look.
True story.
I was working for a company that had these fancy water fountains. Put your cup under it and it spits out water. Except it refused to dispense water into my black cup. I’d put my hand between the cup and the sensor and, voila, it would spit out water. Remove my hand and…no soup for you!.
Fucking racist piece of shit. I used to have a blast ripping on that piece of shit. 🙂
Your black cup isn’t recognized by the sensor – no reflection
F4U Corsairs over USS Boxer CV-21.
I worked on F4s, but that was during Nam. Different plane, different war.
Of the eleven different types of Naval aircraft Dad flew, he loved this one best.
1st picture. Is that one of those Dotsun trucks? Those things lasted forever.
Datsun. I learned to drive behind the wheel of one. 4 speed and all. My father kept one up until his death.
I had one, an 80 or 81. 4 cylinder 4×4 when stationed in Alaska in the army. Unstoppable little mule of a truck.
Chevy LUV (rebranded Isuzu).
Pretty sure that’s a Chevy Luv…..
regarding the Geno’s Pizza Rolls meme–you have to admit, some people are really clever. You also have to admit, some people waste alot of fucking time being clever creating memes
Big hair on real women and beater trucks….just add a 12 pack of Olympia beer
If you have a real woman — why in hell would you want Oly or any other beer?
TASTYKAKES … Oh, for a box of Butterscotch Krimpets. Anyone care to send a famished Sea Gypsy such divine swag????????????????? One of my fave childhood memories.
I remember boys being sent home for their hair touching their collar, or rivets on the pocket of their jeans. I remember girls having to kneel and their skirt touch the floor or they got sent home. I got sent home myself in jr. high for wearing a PBR t-shirt (Pabst Blue Ribbon beer). These were PUBLIC schools.
But kids learned and there was respect in schools. In my Senior year (74), we were allowed to wear shorts to school in warm weather. The good old days!
Rivets? Like the ones on Levi’s? WTH?
Yup. If you went camping, you learned not to let the one in the crotch get too hot…
Thank you for the temporary escape from 🤡 world.
Ahhhhh, Jack Webb.
“Just the facts, ma’am.”
