Oceangate’s water heater death trap:
Looks like a section of pipeline.
Cap the ends and your good to go.
Kinda.
It was reported yesterday, quoting company owner, that he wanted “inspired” young folk to pilot this thing, rather than 50 something retired military submariners.
Not that any of them would get near it anyway.
Something is jus’ telling me these 5 dudes are chilling in NZ or another hidey hole…in preparation for what’s coming….or this was a complete set up for their murder…
Either option leads to the (((usual suspects)))….
All the Oceangate employee resumes when applying for their next job: “I see there’s a gap in employment here on your resume. What’s that all about? Oh, you worked for THAT company. Well, thanks for applying. Good luck in your future endeavors.”
The name of the craft says it all: Challenger. Remember the space shuttle?
Uh…
James Cameron’s sub isn’t the one that imploded.
Oh well, I don’t know the story.

Coal smoker says what?
Langley sez wot?
Good for you, Ryan! Way to NOT follow the bullshit! You’re da MAN!
“Water heater death trap”. Rheem & A.O. Smith are gonna love the comparison as much as the Shinola Co. loved theirs.
All 4 of the victims’ families will receive their loved ones’ Darwin Awards. (The Pakistanis’ family gets 2.)
This 20 year submariner veteran breaks it all down, 2 days before the end of the story.
It seems a lot of 50 year old white guys got it right days ago.
Aye. The submarine brotherhood group I belong to hypothesized that the damage incurred to the vessel last year was not properly repaired, tested, nor certified. Not to mention that the owner apparently eschewed non destructive testing, and any other safety tests/certifications. Their own “engineers,” stated the vessel was safe. Kinda like Boeing did with the Max a few years ago.
they used composites…WTF! cut the titanium sphere in half and stuck that composite tube between the end caps.. the engineer that signed off on this needs to go back to skool..
This design doesn’t even rise to the level of a water heater. It is no moar than a beer can with propellers and one window. Which works fine under pressure as a form where the forces are acting outwards.
But at those deep ocean depths everything is acting inwards and all the forces have to be equally distributed across the form. Mind blowing how stupid some people are these days. They take a vessel designed to explore coral reefs and figure it will work at those depths…
Couple that with the fact that the vessel has to be neutrally buoyant all the way to the bottom and back again and it is easy to conclude that this was always going to fail.
This was always going to be a one way trip. The coast guard probably knew all this months ago and still they have the balls to drag out this song and dance. It makes me wonder if all the bad news this for the Biden administration was choreographed to run concurrently with this shitshow that took place in the sea.
Think about it folks! It is sort of like the news departments when they pre-write those canned obituaries for famous people. You know the ones that quickly come out after the passing of someone famous that are done to get the jump on everyone else..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_premature_obituaries
So here is what I think happened here. The experts probably knew what was going to go down, pardon the pun. Well not really!
So what to do if you are Biden, in charge of something or just picking his pudding, that is facing a a bleak week of bad news..
Well you make sure all those headlines, the Hunter slap on hand, Durham appearance, the Schiff admonishment, the Ukraine offensive and Blinken in China occur the same week this sub launch happens.
Then of course it helps, to call up your buddies at the WaPo, NYT, CNN and MSNBC, to give them the heads up get ready to crank up the drama, the look squirrel event, that will surely work to make people forget to look at what is going on the swamp. Just another week, with another distraction, another line, it worked before and it looks like it will work again.
Right down the line….
5 deaths in a mini-sub; tragic. 1,000,000 deaths due to the jab; statistics.
I don’t disagree, except that you need to add a few zeros to that second number.
Nothing in this country will work without them…just wait and see
Upon realizing the sub design was fatally flawed, the CEO at OceanGate decided to sink the Titan at the “Titanic wrecksite” and collect the insurance, including the his own life insurance.
The old Rich People-Two Step.
How did they squeeze 5 guys in that thing?
Like this..
Hint: they’ve been to a Turkish prison and like Gladiator movies.
They were all queers. One in back of the other.
Rear Admiral Levine got behind them and pushed.
That is what they used to go to bottom of ocean! Holy Shiete…. It literally is a water heater. The forces acting on that ship are crazy. A tube is worst shape to use for a pressure vessel at those depths..
This has to be a front-runner in the Darwin Award nominees for 2023!
Not much different than the steam train boiler that the Confederate Navy used to construct the CSS Hunley in the 1860s.
Expensive Darwin Awards.
It’s real, because it looks so fake.
I think you got a point there.
White guys did it this way in 1960:
