Whoa, Joe. If I rode that lift, turned and looked back over my shoulder, I think I’d get butterflies & the willies. No safety bar, high heights…yeah, every orifice in my bod would tighten up in the queasies.
-And I snow ski once a year, and am on lifts like that, too..
It’s a mind redirection of focus exercise, for sure, when riding to the top of a steep hill.
But, the thrill of riding boards, shaping S-curves with speed, as gravity pulls one downhill, with the wind in your face…what a blast. It’s mastered with athletic weight shift, balance, and leaning to use edges, while carving through freshly groomed hard pack snow.
The tall accumulation of deep, light powder, typically navigated out west at the foot of mountains is a different skill to enjoy. And yet,
A sport thrill that can be enjoyed even into your 70’s.
Afterwards, beers in a hot tub or heated outdoor swimming pool, slope side.
Some winter getaways can be enjoyable.
But, it’s July as we opine here today. Diggin’ the warm sunshine and scantily clad beauties, especially at a lakeside, or on an ocean’s beach.
Carpe diem, when opportunity knocks. Stay thirsty, my friends.
~Cheers!
I’m getting sweaty palms just looking at that pic. No way, no how am I getting on that. Funny thing is–I can be at 5000 ft in my plane, bank it so I’m looking almost straight down and have no ‘fear of heights’ reaction.
Even a ski lift has a safety bar, and the worst you fall into is generally snow….not jagged rocks or at least a dirt-covered hillside. I’m generally not afraid of heights but would NEVER ride that thing.
The Stepford Wives 1975- I was only 21 years old but WOULD, Yes, WOULD… and on the weekend, twice, at least, until Sunday
Even God had to rest on Sunday.

Hell, even Bruce Jenner doesn’t have Bruce Jenner’s body anymore. BTW, the kid with the balsa wood model looks no older than 8 yo. Couldn’t even imagine a typical teenager these days completing one of those.
Hardly anyone builds anymore with the advent of foamies…..I noticed his building board looks to be a small block of pine….
I made one from balsa….18” wide by 48”long and 2” thick,I can build 4 peanuts(13”span airplanes) at a time…….
I used to build model cars in the ’60s. The best IMO were AMT. I bought one recently to putter around with and was so disappointed in the quality and detail of the parts. One would think it would have vastly improved in over 50 years but one would be wrong.
I can remember endless hours of building models (mostly plastic, but also some balsa planes).
I remember the focus, the peace and quiet, the detail work, the smell of the glues and paints, the personal satisfaction of doing an excellent job even though few others might see the finished result, the attempt at realism (using a heated pin to put bullet holes in the plastic fuselage of planes), the constant desire to go down to the basement and work more on the model, and the thoughts of which would be the next model I would purchase and build.
I know that Asians build models. Do blacks? What percentage of black children have the capacity, endurance, and patience to spend hours upon hours building a model that won’t move, a model that simply you will look at and envision it in action, seeing it in your mind’s eye staffed by soldiers, holding an airplane you built in your hand and slowly moving it through the air, tilting the wings as it turns, hearing the pitch of the engine increase or decrease as it climbs or dives? How is it that no one can notice and discuss the obvious racial differences in the activities and toy preferences of different races?
How can they deny that White children are the budding engineers, architects, problem solvers, inventors, and creators of most of our technological society? Imagine demonizing the ethnic group that built society and openly shared their creations with other races to the betterment of all (but detriment of Whites, as the trash, plastic, and waste leaves third world countries and pollutes the waters and air of the West).
Why is denying a certain 5 year event in the 40s criminalized when it cannot be validated using facts and documents, but denying what is obvious to all – racial differences – is akin to blasphemy and considered “hate speech”?
Everything flows from race. EVERYTHING. Culture, politics, economics, philosophy, achievements, societal focus – all are downstream of race. Genome.
The White genome is perhaps one of the most valuable genomes to be created by God (or evolution, or a combination of both, depending on your belief). Is that value why Blackrock is purchasing Ancestry.com for billions of dollars? So they have access to nearly all White genomic data, distribution, information on inheritability of genes, an understanding of familial bloodlines, and keys to our weaknesses and strengths (so they can exploit the former and harm the latter)?
The White race needs to be preserved, their genome protected and continued. Can you see now why David Lane wrote the 14 Words? And why are the 14 Words supposedly “hateful”?
And why are they supposedly “supremacist”?
I personally think that the most important thing we can do from here forward is to build Cohesion among our race, build racial awareness among our race, and work to counter the vicious (and truly hateful) narratives that they are using against us.
I was recently struggling with the question of what do I want to leave as a legacy for others as a result of my life’s work? I think it would be that – raising the awareness of Whites about the tremendous heritage, history, accomplishments, and munificence of the White race (despite our mistakes, which all races and societies have made).
I can’t imagine a more important focus than White Cohesion right now. It is the one thing that our enemies fear, and it is the primary thing that they are attempting to stop, which means that it is part of the solution.
There is a War on Whites and we must act and live accordingly, because the future of our people depends on our actions right now more than we can possibly imagine.
I also did models as a kid, but all mine were ww2 fighters and bombers. I hung them all from the ceiling. My dad got a kick out of them because he served in the war. Maybe that’s why I spent 20 years in the Air Force.
~that was a fine recollection Arch, that segued into a melancholy longing for a return to past successes, & a hopeful plan for circling the wagons and inspiring the youngsters and young adults in the demographic.
Amen. If we got a few dollars we would hike cross country over the creek, through the woods, through the desert and come out the other side at a strip mall with a Hobby Lobby about 5 miles away through mostly undeveloped land. I enjoyed those treks as much as putting together something like a model of a German tank or a British airplane.
Back in the 70s people were still able (barely!) to be gay (i.e. “joyous”) without having a desire to take a torpedo up the poop deck.
It’s a terrible thing to have a word stolen. Now the homosexuals have stolen not only the word “gay” but have almost completely taken the word “rainbow” as well.
I worked at McShits when the McRib came out. I worked the grill so I could cook them the way I wanted. I used to use the morning butter pats to toast/grill the “french roll” on the grill, NEVER put the “meat thing” into the sauce, and just put it on the bun with a slice of cheese. Not too bad that way….but what did I know…I was only 16.

Back in the day I used to think Mary Ann was the hottie on Giligan’s Island.
Now I have an new found appreciation for Mrs. Howell.
I can no longer view these as “the good ‘ole days”, but a catalogue of all the things that went wrong and how we got to the current year along the slippery slope of degeneracy.

Look at this 1950s beach pic, everyone fit as a fiddle! No keto, vegan, or paleo diets. No gym memberships, no fancy fitness tech or wellness influencers. They also weren't drinking protein shakes or counting calories.
Pretty sure I spent a great amount of my teenage years feeding quarters into vidya games. And then cruising the strip and all that too. Sometimes even playing vidya games while out cruising on the strip, when we stopped at Pizza Inn for the buffet.
First question; was Bryan Adams already gay back then in the 70s or did that come earlier or later? Next, my choice is between Fred G Sanford and Florida’s husband for best dad.
Mary Ann (unless you put 99 in the photo lineup). Best Dad – hands down, it’s Fred Sanford.

Doesn’t look like it even has restraints of any kind.
Is that the Palm Springs tram? Went up that decades ago … about the mid-’80s … fun and scary at the same time.
That was my first guess …..
That lift is at Snow King ski hill, at the edge of the town of Jackson Wyoming.
yes, maybe. Up to Mt San Jacinto?

The model’s box would never even be opened but the glue would be gone.
Hardly anyone builds anymore with the advent of foamies…..I noticed his building board looks to be a small block of pine….

Ribbed construction is coming back . . . 3D printed.
And I suddenly have a hankering to build up a bunch of Sterling peanut SE5as and Fokker DVIIIs.
How about something originally made in the early 40s, say by Erma Werke?
Me too but I’ll oil my guns first…
Priorities are important …
When stores started selling plastic “SnapTite” models, I knew that the last days were coming.
I still build wooden airplanes….that kids workmanship is impressive…our youngsters today can’t find their ass with both hands.
‘Cause they didn’t raise themselves right.
It’s nobody’s fault, Ossifer. We were all in the back seat. Hic.
I can’t figure out that Ben Cartwright. Every one of his wives died in childbirth, what the Hell did he do to those poor women?
Have chilrens.

And the models cost over 20 but ks now
Haven’t seen that for years … priceless seeing these folks together.
That comedy skit reminded me of this one.
Facial expressions & bodily reactions are priceless.
No . . . it’s Eye-gore:

and the Batman pack of 9 cards, sticker, and piece of gum cost a nickel

Man… Bruce Jenner looks totally gay in those shorts……
Everyone in the 70s looked gay in those shorts…because those were the shorts in the 70s.
Back in the 70s people were still able (barely!) to be gay (i.e. “joyous”) without having a desire to take a torpedo up the poop deck.

Liberal means free . . . well, useta, anyway.
McRib. Awful then, even worse when they bring it back now and then.🤢

Nope, sticking with Mary Ann, all the way.

No high fructose syrup, MSG, and “eat more carbs!” either.
Most people here probably already know this, but how do scientists create obese mice for their studies? They feed them MSG and fructose.
Fewer vaccines, too. It’d be super to see all that stats laid out with correlation.
No niggers.
If you were in the oil business, 1982 started a real slump for you and most of your neighbors and it took the rest of the decade to grow out of it.
Ehh… not so sure about the no screens or games.
Pretty sure I spent a great amount of my teenage years feeding quarters into vidya games. And then cruising the strip and all that too. Sometimes even playing vidya games while out cruising on the strip, when we stopped at Pizza Inn for the buffet.
Who is that with the Lebel carbine?
