New research puts age of universe at 26.7 billion years, nearly twice as old as previously believed

galaxy

Our universe could be twice as old as current estimates, according to a new study that challenges the dominant cosmological model and sheds new light on the so-called “impossible early galaxy problem.”

The work is published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

“Our newly-devised model stretches the galaxy formation time by a several billion years, making the 26.7 billion years old, and not 13.7 as previously estimated,” says author Rajendra Gupta, adjunct professor of physics in the Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa.

For years, astronomers and physicists have calculated the age of our universe by measuring the time elapsed since the Big Bang and by studying the based on the redshift of light coming from distant galaxies. In 2021, thanks to new techniques and advances in technology, the age of our universe was thus estimated at 13.797 billion years using the Lambda-CDM concordance model.

However, many scientists have been puzzled by the existence of stars like the Methuselah that appear to be older than the estimated age of our universe and by the discovery of early galaxies in an advanced state of evolution made possible by the James Webb Space Telescope. These galaxies, existing a mere 300 million years or so after the Big Bang, appear to have a level of maturity and mass typically associated with billions of years of cosmic evolution. Furthermore, they’re surprisingly small in size, adding another layer of mystery to the equation.

Zwicky’s tired light theory proposes that the redshift of light from distant galaxies is due to the gradual loss of energy by photons over vast cosmic distances. However, it was seen to conflict with observations. Yet Gupta found that “by allowing this theory to coexist with the , it becomes possible to reinterpret the redshift as a hybrid phenomenon, rather than purely due to expansion.”

In addition to Zwicky’s tired light theory, Gupta introduces the idea of evolving “coupling constants,” as hypothesized by Paul Dirac. Coupling constants are that govern the interactions between particles. According to Dirac, these constants might have varied over time. By allowing them to evolve, the timeframe for the formation of early galaxies observed by the Webb telescope at high redshifts can be extended from a few hundred million years to several billion years. This provides a more feasible explanation for the advanced level of development and mass observed in these ancient galaxies.

Moreover, Gupta suggests that the traditional interpretation of the “cosmological constant,” which represents responsible for the accelerating expansion of the universe, needs revision. Instead, he proposes a constant that accounts for the evolution of the coupling constants. This modification in the cosmological model helps address the puzzle of small galaxy sizes observed in the , allowing for more accurate observations.

You know what else causes a “color shift” in light?
Passing through media.

The media this light must pass through includes gazillions of gagiggityawatts of electromagnetic plasmas.
What happens to light when you pass it through elecrromagnetic plasma in the “vacuum” of space?

Watched a good series on creation some time ago. Carbon dating is flawed and people don’t understand the power of water. When water is involved layer upon layer of sediment is compacted and in quick order not a million years ago. I hear people say the Grand Canyon is a million years old , whatever, nope. Too bad our educational systems are simply wrong telling kids the age of the earth, not a billion years of nonsense.

I have seen a lot of this flat earth nonsense over the past few years. I don’t know what is driving it, but it is obviously a psyop. I realize that much of what we have been taught, especially about history and science, is pure nonsense, but anyone who thinks in this day and age that the earth is flat is obviously delusional. Not everything that we have been taught is wrong.

We don’t know the complete story of the shape and size of the earth because they do their best to keep it hidden but we damn sure know it’s not a spinning ball in space with curved water, muh Gravity.

Gravity is supposedly strong enough to hold the atmosphere in place against the vacuum of the entire universe but not strong enough stop a butterfly from flying. C’mon Man!

I generally don’t spend any time trying to “prove” something that is self-evident. For example I have never attempted to prove that gravity exists, because I know that if I step off a ledge I will drop straight down until I hit something that stops my fall. Now it is true that gravity might not behave exactly like the scientists say it behaves, or be caused by exactly what they say causes it, but it still exists.

Similarly, with all of he available information from astronomy, aeronautics, navigation, GPS, geology, civil engineering, and all other disciplines that successfully function on the principle that the earth is a sphere that orbits around the sun it is impossible that they are all wrong, and have been continuously wrong throughout history. I don’t need to “prove” that the earth is a sphere. It is just as self-evident as gravity. The next time you fly overseas on an airplane try telling the pilot that you think he should set his course to your destination using a flat-earth straight line route instead of a great-circle route and see what kind of a reaction you get.

It’s flat because I say it is. It’ll stay flat as long as scumbags keep trying to tell me “the science”. Every time people try to throw “science” in my face to win an argument, I ask “Well, how can that be true now that we all know the earth is flat?” and watch the fireworks. I like wasting other people’s time like they waste mine. It’s my way of saying FU.

“What is driving the Flat Earth nonsense?”

Do a google trends search on Flat Earth. You will find that it came on stage in the latter half of 2014. Just immediately after the movie “The Principle” was released. This documentary explored the Cosmological Principle, or the belief that the Earth is Heliocentric, and not in any special place in the universe. The prompting for this movie was the results of the COBE, WMAP, and Planck probes which continually suggest that the Earth is in the center of the universe.

The documentary showcased many well-known physicists and cosmologist reacting to the new data from these probes, and related discoveries. They all essentially said “This makes it look like the Earth is in the center of the Universe.”

The Flat earth psyop is simultaneously a guilt-by-association smear against geocentrism, a misdirection against data driven cosmology (as opposed to model driven), and a smear against Christianity (esp. Catholicism) which has never held to a flat earth understanding of the universe.

Dumb question. Water finds its level, according to the gravity that acts upon it, in general. If water is placed upon the surface of a large sphere, that is mostly removed from the immediate effects of gravity from other large objects, it will fill in depressions congruent with its volume, and the local surface area of the water will be, for local purposes, flat. I.E. it found its own level.

This means that if you have a perfect sphere with enough mass, and you put sufficient water upon it to overcome natural surface tension, the water will completely cover said sphere with a film of water. If you stick a moon into the equation, with its gravity, you will have tides.

ah, someday we will admit that the universe simply exists, and that even a mondo supernova that we call the big bang, and confuse with creation, was a localized phenomenon, and that the universe is forever bubbling up with matter condensing , coalescing, accelerating, spinning, with transfers of momentum and radiation fuelling all sorts of thermodynamic processes, all pulled back down by gravity to eventually get recycled in black holes and balance the equation of conservation, so to speak… imagine a pot on a rolling boil as a very rough mental image.. even the idea of cosmic background radiation is more likely a cloud of gas we’re seeing from the inside, and just a local phenomenon. of course from the inside it’s easy to fool oneself.

the whole ‘the universe is only X billion years old’ sounded exceptionally lame-brained when you had visual confirmation of objects which , by their spectral lines, demonstrated the presence of heavy elements which would only have formed after multiple cycles of supernovas/recontraction/new star lifecycle/supernova again, yet were redshifted to indicate a distance and ‘age’ of some number very close to X itself even though those heavy elements would have needed another ten billion years give or take to have formed… one of the easiest pieces of that picture that simply didn’t fit.

but modern ‘The Science (TM)’ is just another religious cult in thin disguise and theyre even more rabid about their dogma than most traditional religions are..

“Modern Science” is not a religion, it is a marketing scheme.

It may be sold as a religion to the uneducated, but its purpose is simply to allow the powers that be to more easily sell their product, which ultimately is the enslavery of the human race.

Hell, if I could convince you that everything I say is fact, is truth, and that my “suggestions” for your behavior is based upon truth and fact, you’d do pretty much anything I say.

We see this on an ongoing basis with evolution and the “suggestions” that are so conveniently drawn from it, and we’ve seen this intensely with the Covid scam.

Well, it’s a step in the right direction. Now if they would just give up their attachment to the Big Bang theory and explore, say, the electric universe theory or the plasma universe theory. And realize that galactic structure as currently observed would take trillions of years to develop, making the age of the universe far older than even 26 billion years.

The whole charade with the big bang is getting tiresome. The fact that they need to create “dark matter” to make their math work is retarded.

They brought in Einstein to make the aether go away with his insane math.

Now they state that quantum mechanics only works with an invisible substrate. Like the aether.

Respectively disagree. I haven’t seen any solid proof of a simulation though there are things that make you go hummmm. There are very good books and thousands of hours of video’s that explain the flat earth concept. It really only takes a few hours with an open mind to understand we don’t live on a spinning ball. Unless you are a NASA fanboy- no hope for you.

Warning- understand that the entire psyop we are living in is underpinned by the ball earth story. Once that veil is lifted everything else becomes more clear. But it is scary to know the extent of the brainwash. You might feel alone because you won’t relate to the idiots still in the middle of it all.

When scientists talk about the age of the universe they are referring to the time since the “big bang”. However in all likelihood the universe has had recurring big bangs, going back literally an infinite amount of time in the past, i.e., the universe doesn’t have a beginning. It has always existed. I know that is difficult for people (including me) to comprehend, but that is almost certainly how it is.

One can believe that the earth is flat. One can even believe in Thor, Odin, goddesses and all the rest they are trying to bring back to the accepting ignorant masses.
As for me and my house…..

” It is He that sits upon the circle [חוּג khûg] of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in: (emphases added) (KJVER)

The Hebrew word khûg is translated ‘circle’ having the meaning of the great circles on the globe or a sphere. This then describes a spherical earth in space and the starry heavens created all around it. The words translated ‘stretches’ and ‘spreads’ imply n othing more than God setting the stars up in the sky like one puts up a tent. Isaiah 40:22 is an accurate description of our spherical globe. It was created for its inhabitants, who, to God looking down from outer space, seem to be like grasshoppers, because we are so small in comparison to the planet. It is traveling in space amidst the stars, which God created all around.

When He prepared the heavens, I was there: when He set a compass upon the face of the depth: (emphasis added) (KJVER)

The Hebrew word translated as ‘compass’ here is the same Hebrew word חוּג khûg. The meaning in this verse is that when God created the starry heavens God’s Spirit was there, and so was He when God created the spherical surface of the earth. This is indicated by ‘set a compass’ meaning He inscribed the earth with the great circles along the lines of longitude on its spherical surface. In Genesis 1:2 we read that when God began to create the world He started with water freely floating in space and it would have naturally formed into a ball, a sphere, under it own gravity. This verifies that the word ‘compass’ has the meaning of the great circles, the longitudinal circles on the earth surface. Very clearly God created a spherical world, not a flat earth, and it isn’t suspended on anything.

Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,…. Or, “the globe (z)” of it; for the earth is spherical or globular: not a flat plain, but round, hung as a ball in the air;

(z) על חוג “super sphaeram”, Pagninus; “globum”, Montanus, Vatablus; “super orbem telluris”, Vitringa.

There does seem to be a good tradition of interpreting the word khûg to mean sphere or orb.

Job 22:14, “Thick clouds are a covering to Him, that He sees not; and He walks in the circuit [khûg] of heaven.” (KJVER)

Here the Hebrew word khûg is translated ‘circuit’. It would make no sense to have a circuit about a flat earth but around a spherical earth where the clouds are located makes perfect sense.

Note, there are many similarities between Indo-European and Semitic languages.1 Hence, the Hebrew word khûg may be related to the European words kugel (Middle High German), kula (Polish), kugla (Serbo-Croatian), gugā (their Proto-Indo-European root),2,3,4 and the modern Arabic word for ball, globe, orb or bowl — ‘kurah’. The ‘kh’ in the Hebrew is a guttural ‘g’. All of these clearly do refer to a spherical object.

The earth is not flat and hangs upon nothing!
