About 2 weeks ago, Putin said that if the Ukraine wanted to let Poland take over its western region (around Lvov), Russia wouldn’t object, but if they move into Belarus, it’s go time. The good news is that Poland seems to be rethinking “helping” the Ukraine after one Ukrainian official stated that once the war is over Ukraine will go back to being “competitors” with Poland. Lvov was de-polonized during and after WWII, so its Polish-speaking population is now tiny. I don’t think the polacks need the hassle. Like the US, though, the government doesn’t do what the people want.
It would be funny if Ukraine joins NATO, then has their government overthrown in a Russian-backed anti-color revolution, then Russia invades Poland, etc. and Ukraine’s new government vetos NATO involvement.
This WW3 has been going on since 2015 already – just on a very low burner, so far.

Those poor bastards; Poland used to be one of the richest cultural jewels in Europe, along with Germany and Austria.
Poland was reinvented right after WWI, split from Germany, in 1918, by the Treaty of Versailles, and rebuilt with Allied “help” (out of the goodness of their hearts, no strings attached of course), just so it could be the jumping off point of WWII — and now, WWIII, it seems.
