They are literally burning down the world! But WHO is “they”, really?

Via State of the Nation

DEMONS live in a fiery hell………

…where it’s hot as Hades and the acrid smoke
permeates the air 24/7.

Submitted by Cosmic Convergence Research Group

You can be sure this one is gonna be a real doozy.

The devils have finally come out of their infernal closet where they have been living for the entirety of the Kali Yuga—the darkest and densest of the four major ages in Hindu cosmology.

The dastardly demons know their time is up here on planet Earth because they are fully aware that we have entered the Twilight period of the Kali Yuga, which directly precedes the Dawn of the coming Golden Age.

What happens — at the very end — to these demonic entities, who have exerted total command and control over this realm of existence for well over 5000 years, is that they go crazy—TOTALLY AND UTTERLY CRAZY!

For example:

Pulling off the 9/11 false flag terror attacks, as they did,
was TOTALLY CRAZY.

Perpetrating the COVID-19 Plandemic and Covid ‘vaccine’
genocide, as they did, was COMPLETELY CRAZY.

Carrying out the NATO war plan against Russia using a
genocidal maniac (Zelensky) was, and is, utterly crazy.

Burning down Maui (and Canada) in broad daylight, as
they did in 2023, was ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.

They don’t care anymore.

The gig is up.

It’s game over.

They’re finished.

And they know it.

However, what the entire planetary civilization is now witnessing is their Last Hurrah.

What might that look like.

The utterly satanic agenda that has spread around the globe this decade with meteoric speed is just a foretaste of their plans.

When these little devils really get going, they will try to duplicate the environment from whence they came—HELL!

Just how have they already begun that satanic project?

Maui.

Canada—Western, Eastern, Southern & now Northern.

The whole American Southwest

Also, the rest of the USA.

United States

Then there are the manmade wildfires across Southern Europe as well as those in the United Kingdom.

But why are the little demons so intent on burning the whole place down?

Because if they can’t have it, nobody will—THAT’S WHY!!!

The New World Order globalist cabal knows their absurd plans for overt world domination have morphed into a CRAZYMAKER’S CLUSTEF*CK.

And, that the more devilish mischief they make, the more the Khazarian reptiles at the very top of the food chain will look stupider by the day.

But they don’t care.

All they want to do is go out with a BIG BANG.

They haven’t been able to start World War III, and they’re been trying pretty damn hard for years.

The extremely lethal Covid jabs didn’t kill the billions they had hoped for, but they did murder millions, and sickened billions more.

Which means that they’re really not happy with their inadequate attempts to literally create their HELL ON EARTH.

Which also means that the next year is going to be the biggest satanic BLOCKBUSTER in world history.

Remember, these criminally insane and psychopathic killers are the craziest crazymakers who have ever lived on this planet.

They don’t care about anything … anyone … anywhere, except themselves and maintaining their demonic reign, which they know is now doomed.

TAKEAWAY

What all this really means is that folks everywhere are best served by their abiding faith and forbearance.

Because we are living through extremely extraordinary times, all of those souls who persevere, especially with grace under pressure, will be richly rewarded.

For these truly are the times that will try men’s souls; and as never before in human history.

Therefore, never forget, the greater the sacrifice, the greater the reward … … …

The more pain and suffering one must endure, the more one is freed from the fetters of that difficult karma.

And, most importantly, always remember that:

At the end of the 7 year 70th week of Daniel, which I estimate to be by the end of 2032, they will be bound by God for 1000 years and then judged and cast with Satan into the eternal lake of fire.
Until then they will continue to go crazy at an ever accelerating rate.

Only the Father knows. How hard is that to understand? There are no trails of breadcrumbs or clues. Revelation is highly symbolic and scripture already interprets scripture in other books that 1000 years is symbolic in the Bible where it can mean a day or a long time or 1000 years.

No, the 70th week in Daniel’s prophesy directly follows the 69th week. That prophesy, Daniel 9:27, was to foretell the coming of the messiah not the antichrist. That would put it around 30 AD. Christ is the one who was cut off in the middle of the week, not the antichrist.

Apostle John specifically referred to Nero as the antichrist. His name in Hebrew is Neron Kaiser. When you add the numbers of the letters you get the 666 moniker. This is also supported by the Greek Septuagint translation with the antichrist’s # being 616. Nero’s name in Greek adds to that.

The point is that we are in uncharted territory and should fight these bastards and psychopaths to the end. Believers shouldn’t retreat because “It’s the end times and it’s God’s plan.”, and wait for Christ to come back because “no man will know”.

It is going to escalate. I think we all know that. I just pray for strength. Unlimited strength of every kind.

But it’s us who are the crazy ones. We ask too many questions. We think too critically for the globalists’ liking. We question the official story of the 9/11 attacks. We question the toxic mRNA gene-therapy injections fed to us as “vaccines.” We question the efficacy of facemasks to stop a virus, and we questioned the validity of lockdowns for a pathogen that had the same death rate as the common flu.

They must shut us up. Only crazy people question their overlords.
Just like with Covid plandemic and the obsession with vaccinating everything that moves, there’s a lot more to this story about Maui. But we will never get to the bottom of it if we depend on the corrupt corporate media to connect the dots.

This reminds me of how the Georgia Guidestones appeared out of nowhere in a cow pasture in rural north Georgia in 1979 and nobody knew how it got there. One day it was a vacant field, the next day there was a giant granite monument testifying to the goals of the climate freaks, including their desire to dispense with 90 percent of the people living on planet earth.

comment image

Then one day, on July 6, 2022, the Guidestones disappeared as fast as they appeared and neither the local cops nor the Georgia Bureau of Investigation seemed the least bit interested in finding out who destroyed the monument or why. Case closed. Nothing to see here.

Don’t ask any questions.

5. A book chronicling the events of August 8-11 2023 in Lahaina was published and offered for sale on 08/10/2023
6. The mayor /city council had been busy changing ordinances and restriction prior to the demise of the city which would almost insure rebuilding by survivors/families would not be possible .
7. No safety measures/sirens were operational and no water was available/no fire fighters responded.

I don’t like the description of an old Jesus with white hair and fire in his eyes to smite the evil.

I don’t know if the Rapture is Pre Tribulation, Mid Tribulation, or after Tribulation (or no Rapture at all)?

IMHO the Bible is Not Clear, (when WE NEED IT to be clear) on the future.

The Bible says that almost two thirds of the population of the Earth dies during this time.

(I know I want nothing to do with the End of Times)!

Are we in the End of Times, OR just the End of Empire in your opinion? AND,

“Snatched up” sounds like kidnapping to me.
The old testament was written in Hebrew and Aramaic, then TRANSLATED to Greek, 2,000 years ago, then retranslated who knows how many times (Roman Catholics) by whomever won the latest war. Show me where “rapture” exists in The King James version, which is the most widely distributed and read version in history. How many people that believe in the rapture read the Greek version? This “rapture” theory has only been around since the 1830’s. That’s like a couple of minutes in religious history. The “Left Behind” series is when it got completely out of control. Every time I hear “rapture” I think of Jim Jones and David Koresh (Vernon Howell)

Sooooo …. these demons —- and HINDU demons at that!!! — pulled off a 9/11 false flag terror attacks, perpetrated the COVID-19 Plandemic, and Covid ‘vaccine’, and carried out the NATO-RUssia war, and burned down Maui?

Holy fuck!!! They ARE crazy! Either that, or the people, who believe this “the-demons-did-it” nonsense are the ones who are bat-shit crazy. I’m going with the latter.

Here’s the deal. People ALWAYS feel like the End Of The World is upon them when it is their country that is going down the shitter. This is natural, I suppose. And, of course, people will blame anything and everything …. except themselves. And the religious will always blame “demons”. Been that way since the dawn of human history. Apparently, it shall always be that way with humans.

Here’s the other deal. Most people in the world won’t give a Flying Fuck is the USA!USA!USA! goes totally tits up. In fact, I guessing a significant percentage will be ecstatic. Empires come and go. The Earth survived. I’m pretty sure the planet will survive the loss of America.

We have harmed the world in so many ways…………… in the new Century,

My thinking, the world wants payback,

Is probably cheering – as we fall from grace and crumble as an Empire.

So let me get this straight.

The demons have come out of wherever they’ve been hiding. They’ve ruled for 5000 years but they know their time is about up and they’re about to go crazy. The demons did 9/11, the Covid and vaccine thing, they did the Ukraine war thing, and then they burnt down Maui.

Now the demons are done for and they know it, so they’re going to turn earth into hell by starting wildfires everywhere before they leave. They’ve had this plan to start WW3 but just haven’t been able to do it. Their plan was to kill billions with the vaccine but they just haven’t been able to do it. Somehow they just keep fucking up their plans, so next year they’re finally going to get it right with the biggest demonic blockbuster ever.

You know, we could talk about state sponsered terrorism, and we could talk about the scamdemic and vaccine induced injuries. We could even talk about Ukraine and how governments have stared wars all over the planet for power and profit. That steaming plile of bullshit of an article up above would drive people away from you who you might want to have a conversation with about the things I listed. An article like that is designed to do nothing but make truth seekers look stupid and to discredit them.

Regardless of the truth in Lahaina, it is a good idea to survey ones propert/neighborhood for the state of obvious fire hazards and any mitigation steps that can be taken.

The entire page is relevant to those who are proactive in preventive maintenance.

Admin might think about an article on how to assess fire hazards in one’s community.

Here is some source material:

https://www.nwcg.gov/sites/default/files/publications/pms051.pdf

The National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) provides national leadership to enable interoperable wildland fire operations among federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local partners. NWCG operations standards are interagency by design; they are developed with the intent of universal adoption by the member agencies. However, the decision to adopt and utilize them is made independently by the individual member agencies and communicated through their respective directives systems.

Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire

Mitigation Desk Reference Guide
June 2019
PMS 051
The Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Desk Reference Guide provides basic background information on relevant programs and terminology for those, whether community members or agency personnel, seeking to enhance their community’s wildfire mitigation efforts.

The four primary objectives of this reference guide are to:

• Provide a reference to assist with integrating wildland urban interface mitigation principles into national wildland fire training;
• Promote common wildfire mitigation language and culture;
• Establish an authoritative source for wildland urban interface mitigation information; and
• Provide consistent definitions for use by all media.

Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Desk Reference Guide 1 of 9

Wildland Urban Interface (WUI)
The effects of wildland fire on communities have become more intense, frequent, and far-reaching.
Increased development in the wildland urban interface (WUI) means higher wildfire risk and more suppression needs, costing billions every year. A comprehensive approach to preparedness and mitigation is an effective way to address increasing suppression costs and reduce risk to communities.

Mitigation happens at all levels – local, state, tribal, and federal. A combined approach helps achieve fire adapted communities. Individuals, communities, and organizations working together to share and leverage resources and build partnerships are the keys to success. This guide defines terms and identifies resources that are useful in mitigation planning efforts for all lands.

What is Wildland Urban Interface?

Generally speaking, WUI refers to the zone of transition between unoccupied land and human development. It is the line, area, or zone where structures and other human development meet or intermingle with undeveloped wildland or vegetative fuels. Communities adjacent to and surrounded by wildland are at varying degrees of risk from wildfires.

What is Mitigation?

Mitigation is the effort to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the potential impact of disasters.
Why is Mitigation Important in the Wildland Urban Interface?
Undertaking wildfire mitigation in the WUI can reduce or eliminate the risk of damages caused by wildfire to the human environment (homes, neighborhoods, communities). These actions offer multiple benefits including:

• Contributing to firefighter and public safety by reducing fuels and lessening the risk of structures igniting.
• Creating communities that are more resilient by reducing loss of life and property damage.
• Allowing individuals and communities to minimize post-disaster disruptions and recover more rapidly.
• Lessening the financial impact on individuals, communities, and society as a whole.
• In many cases, mitigation work also enhances other important values such as ecological benefits
and aesthetics.

Mitigation Principles
A comprehensive mitigation approach based on a risk assessment is important for decision making in
order to distinguish among various risk management options for accepting, avoiding, reducing, or
transferring the risk. Resiliency, or fire adaptation, is a continual process that results in effective risk
management.

Risk Assessment

Risk assessment is a systematic process for identifying and assessing the range of elements that could
lead to undesirable outcomes for a specific situation.

Page 2

Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Desk Reference Guide 2 of 9

Quantitative risk assessments provide a method by which we can calculate risk based on measurements or estimates of various risk components such as likelihood of fire occurrence, intensity of fire should it
occur, and susceptibility to fire of the various values being evaluated.

Qualitative risk assessment is the application of judgment based in knowledge and experience when assessing wildfire risk, the potential for ignitions and recommendations regarding possible ways to mitigate the risk.

Risk Reduction
The goal of risk reduction is to reduce the potential loss to life and property. This can apply to both
existing and future conditions, and pre and post-disaster environments, through regulations, local ordinances, land use and building practices, and with wildfire mitigation projects.

Basic Components of WUI Mitigation

Fire Adapted Community
The NWCG definition of fire adapted community (FAC) is “A human community consisting of informed and prepared citizens collaboratively planning and taking action to safely coexist with wildland fire.” More fully, a FAC is a knowledgeable, engaged community where actions of residents and agencies in relation to infrastructure, buildings, landscaping, and the surrounding ecosystem lessen the need for extensive protection actions and enable the community to safely accept fire as part of the surrounding landscape. A successful FAC approach has the potential to save lives, homes and communities, and millions of dollars in suppression costs annually and allowing beneficial ecological processes of fire to take place.

The concept of FAC does not refer to a specific program but a dynamic state of being in which the community continually strives to reduce wildfire risk factors. Becoming a FAC is a continuous process
that requires maintenance and adaptation to ensure actions are effective. Regular re-assessment of risk factors will be required to remain fire adapted.

Because all stakeholders share wildfire risk, a FAC strategy stresses that everyone shares responsibility for mitigating the risk. Stakeholders in a FAC include residents, businesses, policy-makers, land managers, and emergency responders, as well as local, state, tribal, and federal governments. Engaging in a FAC approach can be encouraged by all levels of government through:

• Support for outreach programs to engage the public in mitigation efforts;
• Mitigation incentives; and
• Improved application of relevant research findings on structural ignition, fuels reduction, and key social dynamics.

There is a range of actions communities can undertake to become more fire adapted. In general, the more elements that a community has addressed, the more firm will become. As every community is
unique, not all elements listed below will be emphasized to the same degree in each community. Major elements of a FAC include:

• Community Wildfire Protection Plan or an equivalent plan that helps the larger community identify key values and ways to mitigate fire risk.
• Ignition-resistant homes, building materials, and landscapes.

Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Desk Reference Guide 3 of 9

• Local responder understanding of the complexities of preparing for and dealing with wildfire.
• Fuels treatments on public and private lands in and around communities to reduce hazardous fuels and create fuelbreaks.
• Science and research to help inform decision making.
• Codes, covenants, and ordinances to foster development in the WUI that minimizes fire risk.
• Cooperation and collaboration between jurisdictional authorities.
• Evacuation planning.
• Wildfire prevention and preparedness education.

Community Wildfire Protection Plan
A Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), or equivalent plan, is developed by a community in an area at-risk from wildland fire. The CWPP is a collaborative product involving local government, local
firefighting agencies, the state agency which oversees forest management, federal land management agencies (if present in the vicinity), and other interested parties. While plans do not need to be overly
complicated, they should effectively address local forest and range conditions, values-at-risk, and priorities for action.

The minimum requirements for a CWPP are:

• Collaboration – A CWPP must be developed collaboratively. Local and state officials must meaningfully involve federal agencies that manage land in the vicinity of the community and other interested parties, particularly nongovernmental stakeholders.
• Prioritized Fuel Reduction – A CWPP must identify and prioritize areas for hazardous fuel reduction treatments on both federal and non-federal land and recommend the types and methods of treatment that, if completed, would reduce the risk to the community.
• Treatment of Structural Ignitability – A CWPP must recommend measures that homeowners and communities can take to reduce the ignitability of structures throughout the area addressed by the plan.

The first statutory definition of CWPPs appeared in the Healthy Forests Restoration Act (HFRA), which also specified that communities that had a CWPP in place were to be a priority for receiving hazardous
fuels reduction funding administrated by the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management.

State/Tribal/Local Hazard Mitigation Plan
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) administers the National Hazard Mitigation Planning Program and provides
guidance and technical assistance for developing hazard mitigation plans

PAGE 3

Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Desk Reference Guide 4 of 9

State, tribal, and local governments engage their communities in multi-hazard mitigation planning to identify natural hazards that may affect them, identify strategies and activities to reduce any losses from those hazards, and establish a coordinated approach to implementing the plan. Currently, there are 22,700 jurisdictions across the nation that have FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plans, and most of the plans are available online. FEMA requires state, tribal, and local governments to develop and adopt hazard mitigation plans as a condition for receiving certain types of non-emergency disaster assistance, including funding for mitigation projects.

In addition to defining the community’s overall strategy for risk reduction, the hazard mitigation plan includes a list of prioritized initiatives, both structural and nonstructural, to reduce vulnerability to various hazards. For communities with high wildfire risk, the hazard mitigation plan is an opportunity for prioritizing wildfire risk reduction projects that are eligible for FEMA hazard mitigation funds as well as other state, tribal, or local funds. It is important that entities with local knowledge of the wildfire risk participate in the planning process to contribute expertise, analysis of risk reduction projects, input on how wildfire risk reduction activities might be mutually beneficial with other mitigation efforts, and to ensure that wildfire risk reduction projects are part of the hazard mitigation plan. Many communities at-risk for wildfire take an integrated planning approach and incorporate the jurisdiction’s CWPP into their multi-hazard mitigation plan.

State, tribal, and local mitigation plans can advance numerous wildfire mitigation goals. The mitigation planning process enables state, tribal, and local governments to:

• Increase education and awareness around threats, hazards, and vulnerabilities;
• Build partnerships for risk reduction involving government, organizations, businesses, and the public;
• Identify long-term strategies for risk reduction that are agreed upon by stakeholders and the public;
• Identify cost effective mitigation actions, focusing resources on the greatest risks and vulnerabilities;
• Align risk reduction with other state, tribal, or community objectives; and
• Communicate priorities to potential sources of funding.

Ultimately, hazard mitigation planning enables action to reduce loss of life and property, lessening the impact of disasters.

Homeowner Wildfire Mitigation

Homeowners can undertake a number of mitigation measures that can decrease the potential destructive effects a wildfire might have on their property. Some measures are designed to modify the vegetation surrounding a structure to decrease potential ignition sources. Others focus on modifying the construction of a structure itself to make the structure more resistant to ignition. To reduce the risk for the long-term, actions need to be maintained over time.

Common Practices

• Managing vegetation near the home by reducing, maintaining, and/or replacing with ignition-resistant components (such as decorative stone at the base of a structure). Greater efforts are needed within close proximity of the structure and gradually decreasing efforts beyond that. For appropriate distances, contact your local state forestry or fire department.

PAGE 4

Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Desk Reference Guide 5 of 9

• Removing leaves, needles, and other organic debris from decks, roofs, and near the base of exterior walls.

• Increasing ignition resistance of structures by actions such as using ignition-resistant roofing and protecting exterior openings of structures from ember entrance by covering with non-
combustible wire mesh screening (attic vents, eaves/soffits, crawl spaces, etc.)

• Removing combustible materials from around structures and beneath decks. Locating firewood, fuel tanks, and LPG tanks at a safe distance from structures.

WUI Mitigation Resources

This section provides basic background on a range of larger scale wildfire mitigation opportunities. In addition, numerous programs exist at the state and local level throughout the country. All of the resources listed here are free, no-obligation programs.

Fire Adapted Communities Coalition

The Fire Adapted Communities Coalition is a group of partners committed to helping people and communities in the WUI adapt to living with wildfire and reduce their risk for damage, without compromising firefighter or civilian safety.

For more information about FAC visit the FAC Coalition website at http://www.fireadapted.org, The Nature Conservancy and The Watershed Center FAC program website and blog at

Fire Learning Network
The Fire Learning Network aims to restore the nation’s forests and grasslands. This makes communities safer from fire through public-private partnerships that engage in collaborative planning and implementation, experiential training, and by supporting communication and public outreach about fire and restoration.

For more information, visit The Nature Conservancy’s Fire Learning Network website at

http://www.conservationgateway.org.
Fire Safe Councils
Fire Safe Councils (FSC) are grassroots, community-based organizations that share the objective to protect homes, communities, and environments from wildfire. FSCs accomplish this objective through
education programs and projects such as shaded fuel breaks to protect area residents against an oncoming wildfire and to provide firefighters with a place to fight the fire. The fire agency and local government representatives may be members of the FSC, or may serve in an advisory capacity, depending on local needs.

All FSCs are independent entities. Some are organized as non-profit 501(c) (3) corporations; others operate under a memorandum of understanding with a county, city, and/or local fire protection district; some have no formal structure. FSCs vary in size and focus. Some are countywide, while others involve only the homeowner’s association in a subdivision. There are also several regional associations of FSCs.

Hazard Mitigation Assistance
The FIMA administers FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) programs. Funding is available to mitigate at-risk structures and associated loss of life from the threat of future wildfire through creation of defensible space, application of ignition-resistant construction, and hazardous fuels reduction. Wildfire mitigation projects can be funded under both the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) and Pre-

Disaster Mitigation (PDM) programs. Further information on the programs and eligibility requirements can be found at https://www.fema.gov/, search “HMGP” or “PDM.”

Information specific to wildfire mitigation projects can be found on page 31 of the Guidance

Addendum: https://www.fema.gov/, search “guidance addendum”.
Living with Fire
The purpose of Living with Fire is to provide homeowners living in fire prone areas with wildfire threat reduction recommendations developed by firefighting experts. This program also provides suggestions about what to do during and after a fire.

The program has many tools available for educators, homeowners, community groups, FSCs, and firefighting professionals to help educate and inform others about mitigating Nevada’s wildfire threat.

The information has been shared with thousands of homeowners living in fire prone areas throughout the country. Handout materials include tips on pre-fire mitigation actions such as creating defensible space, safe evacuation practices, and what to do when returning home after a wildfire threat has passed.

For more information, visit the Living with Fire website managed by University of Nevada Cooperative
Extension at https://www.livingwithfire.info/.
Ready, Set, Go!
The Ready, Set, Go! (RSG!) Program seeks to develop and improve the dialogue between fire departments and the residents they serve. The program helps fire departments teach residents in the WUIhow to best prepare themselves and their properties against wildfire threats. The RSG! Program tenets help residents be Ready with preparedness understanding, be Set with situational awareness when fire threatens, and to Go, evacuating early when a fire starts.

Background Materials – Policy and Research
Healthy Forests Restoration Act (HFRA) of 2003
HFRA authorizes the Secretaries of Agriculture and the Interior to expedite the development and implementation of hazardous fuel reduction projects on federal lands managed by the U.S. Department

of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service and the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) Bureau of Land

Management when they meet certain conditions. Other DOI bureaus are not addressed in the statute but have generally adopted policies and practices based on HFRA. The WUI is one of the identified priority areas that qualify for the use of these expedited environmental review authorities.

For more information on HFRA, visit the Wildland Fire Leadership Councils website at

https://www.forestsandrangelands.gov/resources/policies.shtml.
National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy

Developed in response to requirements of the Federal Land Assistance and Enhancement (FLAME) Act of 2009, the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy (Cohesive Strategy) is a collaborative effort to examine growing wildfire challenges across all lands regardless of ownership.

The process is a collaborative, all-hands, all lands approach to wildfire management. All members of the wildland fire community, including federal, tribal, state, local, and nongovernmental partners, are active participants.

The Cohesive Strategy focuses on three elements: (1) restore and maintain landscapes, (2) fire adapted communities, and (3) wildfire response.

For more information, visit the Cohesive Strategy website, https://www.forestsandrangelands.gov/.

Presidential Policy Directive
Presidential Policy Directive-8 (PPD-8) was released in March 2011 with the goal of strengthening the security and resilience of the nation through systematic preparation within five mission areas: prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery. The directive considers the full spectrum of threats and hazards, including natural, technological/accidental, and adversarial/human-caused. As part of the National Preparedness System required by this directive, a National Mitigation Framework was created which establishes a common platform for coordinating and addressing how the nation manages risk from all threats and hazards through mitigation capabilities. To implement the National Mitigation

Framework, a Federal Interagency Operations Plan was developed and a Mitigation Framework

Leadership Group (MitFLG) has been established. The MitFLG serves as the central coordination point for interagency mitigation activities across the federal government by facilitating information exchange, coordinating policy implementation, and overseeing successful implementation of the National

Mitigation Framework.

For more information on PPD 8, visit the Homeland Security website, https://www.dhs.gov/presidential-policy-directive-8-national-preparedness.

Quadrennial Fire Review
The Quadrennial Fire Review (QFR) is a strategic assessment process that is conducted every four years to evaluate current mission strategies and capabilities against best estimates of the future environment for fire management. This integrated review is a joint effort of the five federal natural resource management agencies and their state, local, and tribal partners that constitute the wildland fire community. The objective is to create an integrated strategic vision document for fire management.

For more information on QFR, visit the National Interagency Fire Center website,

Research Efforts
For the latest findings in social science, fuels treatments, and other research efforts, visit the Joint Fire
Science website at https://www.firescience.gov/ and the U.S. Forest Service Research and Development
publication system at https://www.treesearch.fs.fed.us/.
Whole Community
In 2011, FEMA initiated a national dialogue on a Whole Community approach to emergency management. The Whole Community concept is a lens through which residents, emergency management practitioners, organization leaders, and government officials can understand and assess the needs of local residents and the best ways in which to organize and strengthen their assets, capacities, and interests. The Whole Community approach involves increasing individual preparedness and using communities as force multipliers to enhance the resiliency of our nation as a whole. The three core principles of Whole Community include:

1) Understand and meet the actual needs of the Whole Community;
2) Engage and empower all parts of the community; and
3) Strengthen what works well in communities on a daily basis.

These three principles provide a foundation for pursuing a Whole Community approach to emergency management through which resiliency can be attained.

For more information on Whole Community, visit the FEMA website, https://www.fema.gov//whole-community.

Flammable Plants to Avoid Having in Your Garden
By
LISA HALLETT TAYLOR
Updated on 01/11/22

The Spruce / Evgeniya Vlasova

One of the most appealing aspects of living in a dry climate is the extended time throughout the year to enjoy your outdoor living space—the pool, patio, and grill. But for many who reside in these regions, the threat of wildfire is very real, fueled by drought or strong winds.
If you live in an area at risk for wildfires—like Southern California or much of the West—you may have heard of certain plants that are fire-resistant. It makes sense to take measures to landscape your property with shrubs, trees, perennials, and succulents that may, in some cases, possibly save your house from burning down.

But what about the most flammable plants—the ones you should consider removing or at least not planting? These plants are known for the amount of dead fuel that accumulates inside them, high oil (or high resin), or the low moisture content of their leaves and branches.

All plants are flammable if not pruned periodically. The risk associated with any one plant can be greatly diminished with regular maintenance. Highly flammable plants can ignite quickly, releasing lots of heat, even if they are healthy and well-watered. In areas experiencing drought, even moderately flammable plants can become more prone to ignite.

Characteristics of highly flammable plants include:

Dry and dead leaves or twigs

Dry, leathery leaves

Abundant, dense foliage

High oil or resin including gums or terpenes

Shaggy, rough, or peeling bark

Lots of dead leaves underneath the plant (litter)

Needle-like or very fine leaves

Foliage with low moisture

The following list of flammable plants was created from information provided by various fire agencies, and botanical organizations throughout the United States. They are presented in alphabetical order.

Acacia
Botanical name: Acacia species

This striking tree and shrub are native to tropics or warm areas of the world, including Australia, Mexico, and the southwestern United States. The leaves from some species of Acacia contain resin and flammable oils, which can encourage fires.

03of 22

Algerian Ivy

Botanical name: Hedera canariensis

This particular ivy was planted in the mid-1900s because it is a fast-growing ground cover that can quickly cover bare spots on hills, and pretty much everywhere else. Its invasiveness—it attaches firmly to surfaces like walls, fences, and arbors—has made it despised by some and considered a deep-rooted weed, spreading, and hard to get rid of.

04of 22

Bamboo

Botanical name: Bambusa

While bamboo makes a great privacy screen and creates an exotic, tropical look in a landscape, they are flammable. These giant grasses are spread by underground stems (rhizomes) into two types: running and clumping. Since they are tall, dry, and grow close together, bamboo can quickly spread a wildfire.

05of 22

Broom

Botanical name: Cytisus

French, Spanish and Scotch brooms are invasive perennials that spread easily and are extremely flammable because of their oil content.

06of 22

Chamise

Botanical name: Adenostoma fasciculatum and A. sparsifolium (red shanks)

Also known as greasewood and native to California, both of these chamise shrubs thrive in full sun, dry climates, and will grow in poor, rocky soils. Identifiable by their needle-like leaves with tiny clusters of white flowers. Older stems can get woody and create very hot fires if ignited.

07of 22

Cypress

Cypress trees and shrubs that are especially flammable include:

Arizona cypress (cupressus glabra)

Italian cypress (cupressus sempervirens)

Leyland cypress (cupressocyparis leylandii)

Tecate cypress (cupressus forbesii)

While these evergreen trees are useful as screens, hedges or windbreaks, they are strongly scented and can become tall torches during wildfires.

08of 22

Douglas Fir

Botanical name: (Pseudotsuga menziesii)

If the name sounds somewhat familiar, that’s because young Douglas firs are often cut for Christmas trees. Needles on these trees have a sweet fragrance when crushed or stepped on. The thin, resinous bark of young Douglas firs makes them highly susceptible to wildfires.

09of 22

Eastern Red Cedar

Botanical name: Juniperus virginiana

This conifer grows into a shape that resembles an inverted pyramid with branches that grow outward and upward. Although it grows in most USDA zones, this particular species has been a threat to Oklahoma and other Western states, contributing to wildfires, drought, and loss of cattle-grazing land.

Eucalyptus

Botanical name: Eucalyptus camaldulensis

Also known as red gum or river red gum, these strongly scented Eucalyptus trees contain highly combustible oils produced by the leaves. Leaf litter is high in phenolics, which prevents breakdown by fungi and accumulates as large amounts of dry, combustible fuel.

Gas Plant

The Spruce / Evgeniya Vlasova

Botanical name: Dictamnus albus

One of its other common names, burning bush, is a blazing tip-off that this shrub might be flammable. Also known as fraxinella or dittany, this plant’s glossy olive-green leaves are attractive throughout the growing season. When rubbed or brushed against, the plant emits a strong lemony scent. Oils from immature seed capsules may ignite if a lighted match is held underneath a flower. In hot, dry weather, Dictamnus can easily catch fire, which has led comparisons to the burning bush referred to in the Bible.

Japanese Honeysuckle

Botanical name: Lonicera japonica

Lonicera is loved for its fragrant flowers that are tubular or trumpet in form. Flowers attract hummingbirds, and the red and purple berries that follow are a good source of food for a variety of birds. Once valued as a shady ornamental plant, it was often planted around porches. However, Japanese honeysuckle is invasive and highly flammable.

Juniper

Botanical name: Juniperus virginiana

Junipers are conifers and generally are easy to care for: they are drought tolerant and will grow in any type of soil if there is drainage. They also do not require lots of maintenance and pruning, maybe every few years or so.

Several varieties contain highly flammable resins. Junipers can accumulate dead leaves, and as they age, they become more prone to easily ignite. Some firefighters nickname them “gasoline plants”.

Maiden Grass

Botanical name: Miscanthus sinensis

Native to Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan, these ornamental grasses are clump-forming, showy, and range from dwarf types to large varieties. Although it doesn’t require pampering and lots of maintenance, this grass, also known as Eulalia or Japanese silver grass, becomes dried and if not pruned is especially flammable. If you live in an area prone to wildfire, cut these grasses back in late winter to early spring.

Manzanita

Botanical name: Arctostaphylos hookeri

Native to the Far West, Manzanita is a chaparral plant that can grow very dense. All varieties can be identified by their small, urn-shaped white or pink flowers that appear in late winter to early spring. While these ground covers, shrubs, and trees benefit wildlife—butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to those flowers and the berries that follow—they may be one of the most fire-prone types of plants. Dry, deadwood becomes highly flammable.

Melaleuca

Botanical name: Melaleuca

These Australian native trees have needle-like leaves and flowers that resemble those of the bottlebrush shrub and attract birds. While they are admired for their drought tolerance, and fast growth, the oils in melaleuca’s leaves and bark make them flammable. Those oils are the same ones used for medicinal and healing purposes as tea tree oil, which is applied topically.

“The more pain and suffering one must endure, the more one is freed from the fetters of that difficult karma.”
Yeah right…. That’s a good one….. It feels so much better when I stopped hitting my thumb with a hammer.

What a GD defeatist attitude. Endure your Karma because you are told you deserve it, but yet no one can tell whether the karma being administered is for them or the other. When their fire is at your door, make sure you have a good fireextinguisher on hand such as a .12 ga. or a .45 cal.
