“Hesitancy” About the Drugs that Weren’t Vaccines . . . and Now EVs

Guest Post by Eric Peters

When “hesitancy” about being voluntarily injected with the drugs that turned out to not be vaccines became a thing, it became another thing.

A pushed thing.

Things got to the point that people who refused to take the drugs being pushed were threatened with loss of employment (and with it, career, in the case of people in occupations such as airline pilots, doctors, nurses and so on).

Will it get to that point with EVs?

Right now – and for now – people are still free to opt-out of “electrification.” And the evidence accrues that many are doing exactly that as word about the adverse events people who’ve already bought into “electrification” are experiencing.

Such as the very public experience of Ford CEO Jim Farley, who tried mightily to make excuses for the EV’s failings that echo eerily of the way those pushing the drugs tried to make excuses for their failure to immunize the people who took them. Who assumed that’s what they’d be getting. Instead, many of them got myocarditis and other unpleasant things. But – never mind that, said the drug pushers. These drugs will reduce the severity of symptoms and that will reduce the number of hospitalizations and that, in turn, will help reduce the burden on hospitals.

One can almost hear the same cadences in the apologias emanating from Farley – whose company is on track to lose $4.5 billion (so far) pushing battery-powered vehicles that don’t go very far and require a lot of waiting (and planning to wait) in between.

At least they don’t kill you.

Well, not usually.

But they sure do kill any desire to own one of these things. Excepting, of course, the True Believers. Who – like the True Believers in “mask” wearing – cannot be swayed by facts. That is the nature of True Belief.

One must just believe.

But they are relatively few such. Or at least, probably not enough.

Just as “mask” wearing is not likely going to be accepted as easily again as anything other than what it has always been – i.e., a device meant to create an image of agreement with a sick narrative – so also the holy nimbus that once illumined the EV is fading.

They are being produced.

But they are not being sold.

Dealers aren’t placing new orders; they have too many in inventory already. Tesla is an exception, but only because it appeals – like the “mask” – to the true believers. But there are only so many of those left. Once they have their articles of faith, it will be difficult to persuade those who are not believers to buy in.

What then?

It will probably follow the script that was intended for us during the “pandemic.”

Like the drugs that weren’t vaccines, expect EVs to be pushed on those who are . . . “hesitant.” The pushing will take the form of pushing the “hesitant” out of their current vehicles – i.e., the ones that take them where they need and want to go without a planning (and waiting) ordeal that is analogous to what it was like back in the 1940s to fly anywhere farther than very close by. Across the country, say.

In case you forgot what that was like, it went something like this:

You boarded a prop job airplane in let us say New York, at what was then Idlewild Airport (JFK International, now). It took off – and landed in Washington, where you waited for the bird to fuel up before it took off en route to your next stop in Chicago. Where you waited (again) while they topped off the bird. After another stop or maybe two, you finally touched down in LA.

It only took all day to do what it takes about five hours to do today, in a fast jet. Which can  be likened to a not-electric car in that it doesn’t need to stop to travel very long distances. An EV, on the other hand, can be likened to going back to a prop job to fly across the country – when fast jets are available.

Farley publicized the fact, however inadvertently. Much the same as Fauci and the White Coats  – it sounds like a Synth band from the ’80s – did much to spread the truth about the drugs that weren’t vaccines, by brazenly and serially lying about them.

An interesting confluence is in the making. It is essentially the same one that reached its crescendo when the Thing that currently occupies the home of the president attempted to use the government to force people to take the drugs that weren’t vaccines. The Supreme Court ruled he could not do so but the far more powerful rebuttal was that of the people who had already refused to take the drugs being pushed and were not going to take them under any circumstances whatever.

The same is forming up as regards this pushing of EVs. There are millions of people who aren’t going to be pushed, under any circumstance whatever.

What will the Thing – and the Things in his service (or is it the other way around?) do when they run into such a wall of “hesitancy”?

We’ll soon find out.

We’re finding out already in high gas prices and at the very least, parts that are becoming less trustworthy if not down right exorbitant in price to repair what you already own. (If still available)

I know someone who just purchased a Tesla up here in AK. I’m sure it will be real fun when it gets 20 below or even below zero.

I live in place where there’s pretty cold winters and since Canada is being arsoned so the government can force people out of the country side into the cities to live in ultra dense condos built above train stations, I’d rather not risk freezing to death in a winter traffic jam or being unable to drive away from a fire. In an emergency, with my ICE car, I can bring extra fuel with me and if I do run out of gas, I can get a few liters of fuel from other drivers and get on my way. If I run out of charge, my car is a brick and in an emergency, I could freeze or burn to death. No thanks.

Evidently ford has forgotten about the ill fated Edsel. As the old saying goes; If you don’t learn from your mistakes you are destined to repeat them. If the electric vehicle at any level is going to make it there will have to be a HUGE break thru in electrical charging and storage capabilities. So far all I am hearing is TRUST ME and we all know where that leads.

Ford doesn’t have a choice. They have to comply with the EPA guidelines for average fleet mpg’s. They are already high enough that they have to sell a new EV for every pickup. And every car across the line, not just Ford but all manufacturers, are having the engines shrink. For example, mid-sized cars that used to come standard with a 2.4 l engine, now come with a 1.6 turbo. It will produce as much horsepower but will run out at 50% higher rpms. And because it has less torque, they are coming with 8 speed auto transmission, sort of a low granny gear. The uptake is that while the cars should run okay, they should statistically have a useful lifespan that is 33% lower than their predecessors. And the EPA rules for MPG are changing in 2025 to 35mpg average across the fleet, so it’s only going to get worse.

Battery life is reduced with prolonged highway driving and with repeated rapid charges. Estimated battery life of an EV is ? 6-7 years, then replacement will be the cost of the car. t/esla will have to organize its own battery return or vehicle trade-in program for the dealerships to remain viable for the future. Otherwise good luck with selling or trading a 7 year old t/esla.

Talked to a guy with a Tesla. He said the battery weight means a lot of tire wear, he has to replace them every 20,000 miles.

I could say that I’m looking forward to Ford going bankrupt. Horrifically managed company.

But that’s not going to happen.

.gov (aka, you and me) will bail them out. Count on it.

I still supported Ford after the Chrysler and GM bailouts, but this foray into electric vehicles is causing Ford to lose millions of dollars. Like Chrysler and GM before them, if they find themselves going bankrupt, may they be left to fail.

I have low hope of this happening as my country Canada recently paid billions in taxpayer dollars to VW and Stellantis (the island of misfit car companies that Chrysler belongs to) to build EV vehicles in Canada. More than $500000 spent per job these plants may eventually create. Our government argued ‘We have to give these taxpayer dollars (which they call ‘investments’) otherwise let these jobs will go to the US.’ I say let the US have them. They’re not worth the money we’re spending up front and promised benefits are likely to never materialize. And if EVs continue to not sell, these subsidies are wasted and VW and Stellantis can still close plants here even if they took billions of taxpayer dollars.

I’ve no doubt our government will throw money at Ford if they tend toward bankruptcy. Governments have a long history of betting taxpayer money on losing companies and technologies.

Most can’t see it. Electric cars are only a step from nobody owning cars.

That is what the code word ” Transition ” means. ‘ As we transition into this new society ‘ …. Blah , Blah , Blah .

Millions of horses will not be environmentally friendly either. Yes mass transportation can work in large cities, but will never work in rural areas. Bicycles are okay for personal transportation but you can’t bring groceries for a family of 4 home on one.

Hey James. Did you post a picture of your van project previously with a deer buster on the front? I’m trying to find one for my similar project. I’d appreciate it if you could direct me to a source for such kit if you know of one.

There is also a certain lack of morality in the electric car. Toyota says they can make 66 hybrids that get 50 mpg each with the same resources used in one all electric car. The comments about battery replacement are spot on as well. I have one vehicle that is a bit over 20 years old with around 240,000 miles. Runs great and uses no oil. You could never do that with an electric. I was told by a body shop guy no one in his business will work on them as there is so much danger in handling a damaged electric from spontaneous combustion of the batteries. Supposedly just being scraped or a tiny ding can cause them to go up.

Kid’s ’15 Passat averages 42 in a full sized car. My Jeep averages 27 in a 5000lb brick that can pull 7600lb. We’re adding another diesel for my wife this week.

EV hesitant because of the lack of charging stations on long trips? Not to worry, take a lesson from savvy mobile home owners. Tow a petrol or diesel mini car. Another option, taking less space, and making you independent of charging stations and the queues, is your own petrol or diesel generator to charge your EV. Too easy! Hassle free EV’s begone.

If you are using diesel to charge and EV what is the point of the EV? Aren’t they suppose to reduce carbon emissions? Which is a crock anyway, as carbon burning power plants make the most electricity in the US. Before I retired I worked in one that made 620 megawatts per hour. You are not replacing that with wind. Natural gas, coal and oil still rule in the generation industry.

What I don’t understand is the push for 100% EV by manufacturers. The technology isn’t ready for prime time yet. It took about 20 years for hybrid technology to be mature. When I was an engineering student in the 90’s hybrids were still being studied in the labs.

While I am 100% on board with diesel, I would not have an issue with owning a hybrid as my wife’s car and not worry about it leaving her sit or have to spend thousands on a charger.

EV’s are a solution without a problem.

Is this a babylon bee article? Of course, it will be forced on us. Our overlords are already telling us this. States are mandating only electric cars will be sold after certain dates. Gas prices will continue to rise. Eventually there will be some sort of “carbon tax” if you own/operate a combustion engine vehicle. The USA will become Cuba where the old nonelectric cars will be maintained as long as possible if you can afford the gas and taxes that is. Our overlords plan to control every aspect of our lives. Long distance travel by auto or air will be severely curtailed and tightly controlled for us commoners. Social credit score, energy credits, EVs, 15-minute cities etc. etc. all about control.
