I would suggest the consequences are brought up on us by the ignorant monetary policy of printing new notes, failing to realize the longer term effects caused by diluting purchasing power. The definition of what inflation truly means.
It’s a failure of the Keynesian advocates who disregard Hazlitt’s accurate adage as described in Economics in One Easy Lesson.
The broken window fallacy explains it very well as an example.

It could be all by design, to make automobile ownership out of the reach of all the useless eaters and consumers of finite resources, in the eugenicist push, by the likes of Schwab, Gates, Harari, and the Davos clan, who can afford personal jets, besides luxury automobiles.

Could be wrong, but evidence suggests otherwise.

Cars are like teeth. Ignore them, and the care needed to keep them in good shape, and they’ll go away.

My mechanic is busier than he has ever been. He is booking appointments 2 weeks out whereas in the past I’d call him the day before I needed something done.

the problem i am seeing daily is many vehicles are in an unsafe condition. frames rotted and patched brakes down to nothing bald tires and fluid leaks. 1 in 4 customers can address the daily needs the other 3 are holding their rides together with wire and duct tape. the cash for clunkers started the industry in its decline. the biden theft as addmited by his lips. and his attacks on the fuel and supply chains finished what his keepers started long ago. more then half the vehicles i see daily are to the point i wont even touch them any more due to public saftey. if they aint got tires and brakes i sure am not installing a starter so they can go kill some one in a crash. but this is where people are today and the market for repairs is less then a quarter of what it was 3 years ago and a tenth of what it was in the 90s!

Thanks for that Cash For Clunkers cronyism rip, Obama.

You ought to be able to, and once could, get a beater for a few hundred, that’d start, stop, and steer for a while, ’til you could do better.

Abolish the state.

with so many folks caught in denial and the normalcy bias the rest have their heads buried in the sand. how would anyone expect things to improve? a tottal collapse and reduction in population is going to happen and those who fail to adapt and pay attention wont get to pass to the future. that simple.

Peter M. DeLorenzo over at autoextremist.com has been warning that the auto industry has been pricing itself out of the market for some time.
The cheapest car on the market as of May 2023 was a Mitsubishi Mirage starting at $17,670.
$20k is just around the corner.
