Warning : Reality Is Escaping Out The Back Door

Guest post by Patrick Wood

I wrote this article for my PatrickWood.Substack.com subscribers recently. After more reflection, this needs to be released to the world as a stark warning: The total collapse of reality may be at hand. We have already witnessed mass formation during the Great Panic of 2020, where large swaths of the world seemingly lost touch with reality. That was just a foretaste of what is about to come.

This is hard to understand, and you might need to read it multiple times. Do it, lest you fall prey to a simulacrum. If you get it, weigh in the comment section below.⁃ TN Editor

There’s a big word that you can add to your vocabulary: Simulacrum. It is a hard word to wrap your head around, but one you are not too likely to forget. Indeed, you should not forget it!

Collins defines it as: “1) an image; likeness; 2) a vague representation; semblance; 3) a mere pretense; sham.”

Cambridge Dictionary says: “something that looks like or represents something else”.

Purdue University put it this way: “Something that replaces reality with its representation.”

Jean Baudrillard wrote about this in a 1981 paper called “The Precession of Simulacra”, where he digs deeper, making a distinction between a simulation and a simulacrum.

Whereas representation attempts to absorb simulation by interpreting it as a false representation, simulation envelops the whole edifice of representation itself as a simulacrum. Such would be the successive phases of the image:

it is the reflection of a profound reality;

it masks and denatures a profound reality;

it masks the absence of a profound reality;

it has no relation to any reality whatsoever;

it is its own pure simulacrum.

So, the switch for reality is anti-reality: “The simulacrum is never what hides the truth – it is truth that hides the fact that there is none.”

This whole process does not happen in a vacuum because it involves human agency. Reality exists but human perception distorts it.

Just for review, reality slips into distortion, then into simulation, then finds its resting place in a state of simulacrum. Reality is subsumed by the simulacrum.

An example of simulacrum in the making

It is estimated that 90 percent of all online content will be generated by AI by 2025. This means news, social media posts, chats, pictures, videos, podcasts, websites, etc. A deluge of fake social media accounts will be run by AI. In short, everything.

Nina Schick, A.I. thought leader, wrote,

“What generative AI can do, essentially, is create new things that would have thus far been seen as unique to human intelligence or creativity, Generative AI can create across all media, so text, video, audio, pictures – every digital medium can be powered by generative AI. So, I think these valuations that you’re seeing for OpenAI are actually going to go up and you’re going to start to see even more generative AI companies which have universal applications across many industries in 2023.”

People will remember back to 2023 images and think that nothing has changed in 2025.

Warning : The Total Collapse Of Reality Could Be At Hand

As described above, a simulacrum is anti-reality.

This is not a paradigm shift of reality. This is not a “new realty”. This is not reality, period. Unfortunately, billions of people risk being captured by it.

While everyone is looking at shiny new simulacra forming right before their eyes, reality is escaping out the back door.

You’re right. Actors = overpaid primadonnas. They will be replaced by AI generated actors. I see the time (soonish) when the script, the movie, the actors will all be AI created. There is no doubt that the studios want this because they can get rid of all the money pits. Cost to produce a movie will fall to pennies. The masses will be truly be in Huxley’s world where Soma will just be non-stop entertainment.

I particularly liked your question about the UAW strike. It represents that singular point in space time when reality and anti-reality actually come into physical contact with each other. And from what I’ve learned from sci-fi in general is that when matter and anti-matter come into direct contact? Bad things inevitably and immediately follow.

Setting aside the great chasm that is defining what AI really is in theory vs in practice, AI is getting a lot of attention which suggests something is afoot that has nothing to do with AI.

There is a kind of suggestiveness to it all along the lines of green energy and the rest of the alt-reality that always requires a massive regulatory, financial, and social-engineering efforts to incentivize capital investment, retooling opportunity costs, and the associated risks – as well as marshalling consumer demand and adoption of the various clumsy piece of progress touted as elegant solutions [to problems that don’t yet exist].

But don’t worry, the problems will exist, by nature of introducing free-radical solutions and forcing them into a system that does not want or need them.

If it feels a lot like how the totalitarian sects invent solutions to various human problems that aren’t solvable and then force everyone to live under those solutions which in turn amplifies those problems such that those solutions are then justified (and then increased, to infinity aka mass graves) its no accident.

Time and again this breaks down once any of those artificial constructs has to self-sustain based on maths or other principles of reality that these top-down, centralized plans leapfrog.

While there is no doubt that many functions are being encouraged to join the AI convergence, the promise of replacing humans has always been a core selling-point of progress, but also one of the most over-stated. Somehow all that productivity never quite trickles down into leisure time or higher wages.

That said it is interesting to note how in this iteration they have done away with the lies about leisure and income and gone straight to the threat of ‘you will be replaced’.

Which in my mind is on par with the lateness of the globohomo empire and its complete reliance on brute force. An notion more worthy of meditation than how some algo that has been ritually abused by degenerate faggots and angry women is going to be cranking out symphonies and novels.

Said differently, an empire built on lies and employing entire industries tasked to suppress the truth and shape the lies into narrative cannot hand these over to a machine predicated on logic, absent the kind of heavy-handed clown world kilt-lifting we already have to endure.

I suspect the writers are wrestling with old-fashioned issues relating to how the marketplace is shifting away from distributed revenue from subscription models to the impact of a disaggregated streaming model in the same way ESPN is going to have to reckon with the loss of revenue from packaged cable deals disaggregating.

Media writing is a terrible job, a lot like acting, in that the apex fallacy of actors and writers casts an unrealistic light on the entire business. For every Brad Pitt and Taylor Sheridan, there are scores of working writers who work infrequently, seasonally, part-time, and for “warehousing” content that rely upon the old model of syndication and contractual packaging of short-term revenue spikes into long-duration revenue streams.

The way media content is being consumed has changed but there is a massive lag in how the creators are able to capture revenue/royalties, sell content into the markets, and retain creative rights in light of these changes.

Without nearly the fanfare of hollywood, this has already been happening for a long time now within content creation in print and on the “internet”. Copywriting and long-form were gutted and skinsuited into the black box empire of lies gulag of click/traffic/”algos” and the sharp devolution of reading into multimedia “scrolling”.

The result was as a freelancer making $1 per word or $500 per story or some other aggregate of content and original concept creation, nearly overnight the buyers market went to SEO and inverted the value proposition from content to traffic and so rates went to $0.05 per word and you have to write like a 4th grader girl on adderal.

While this space is all basically AI, if not in form then in function, real people are still making real content that other real people want to consume. The idiocracy aside, the Book People living along the river will always want to consume the human experience. The uncanny valley of the NPC’s and their mechanized handlers cannot be bridged. with what passes for “AI”.

Universal basic income has one problem that seems to get ignored by those that promote it. Where does the money come from? If I collect it, why should I work to pay into it? If I don’t get it, why should I work my butt off to give it to somebody else?

Same problem with the 15 minute city. What jobs are there? Where is the revenue? Are we supposed to take in each others laundry? Are you supposed to live atop a factory? The promoters seem to be a little shy on details.

“If you aren’t scared, you don’t understand. ” Truth

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

2 Timothy 3:1-17
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. …

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Matthew 10:28
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

1 Peter 3:14
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,

Hebrews 13:6
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

HH, amen, and exactly what I’ve said for the past year. AI will destroy all trust that exists in a society—cohesion goes with it. As “reality slips out the back door” for most people an extinction level event awaits. All part and parcel of the plan. My advice: let all your learning be from trusted sources that are 50+ years old. Stay with classics. Reduce your exposure to new generative media of all kind. Cultivate face to face relationships. Learn and enjoy nature. Stay real, my friends.

There is already a lot of AI generated articles. You can tell it’s AI because the article will have sentences and whole paragraphs that don’t make sense.

AI is an over rated scam. Is it useful for some things? Absolutely but it’s never going to replace humans. Not that they won’t try to do that. It’s just won’t work out the way they think it will.

This is from your article.

Needless to say, such was not available back in the old school days when we used to have to go to a physical library building and pore over stacks of physical books to cull information visually and then transcribe it w/ pen & paper… typewriters were coveted back then..

When we had to do that kind of research, we probably missed some important information because we are limited by time. However, I can say from experience that I retained the information when that much work was involved. Now you look up something and the information goes in one eye and out the other. It’s rarely retained or if it is it’s not retained for very long.

Already I am wondering if the new music and ‘content’ that I enjoy these days is real or Memorex. Right this moment I am listening to a new arrangement in the style of a Spaghetti Western soundtrack on youtube, claiming to be written and composed by a guy whose name is not familiar to me. So for all I know it is “AI” generated.

Are we on the cusp of rejecting digital content in most of its forms altogether? If the author is correct, then I doubt if i would spend any time at all online in 2025 other than for work.

What you’re on the cusp of is falling for the biggest lie ever told. You’re being encouraged to let it happen “organically”. You fight back in whatever way you’re capable of, and that depends entirely on what you and The Lord have made of you thus far in the story.

I took my dog down to the creek yesterday. While he chased shadows and who-knows-what I picked up Paw Paws, and ate few while doing it. Found a big patch of bright orange False Chanterelles and relished the vivid colors against the backdrop of decayed wood. I walked across the creek on a blown down tree but the dog chose to wade the creek. The dog and I thoroughly enjoyed REAL reality free from the clutter and falseness of the man made world. Also, got a few ticks.
Get out, see the real world and get your mind reset once in a while. The simulacrum that you speak of is in the man made world. Nature hasn’t changed one iota and yet is ever changing.

Your voice can be faked very easily. Wikipedia? They are changing books.
We are all extremely trained in suspended disbelief by watching movies etc.

And, we are actually back to pre tech days. They didn’t have this stuff and we can’t believe it but it’s hard for humans to live that way so we keep reading and watching.

Reality cannot collapse, or be altered in any way. The only thing that can change is an individuals perception of realty. Regardless of perceptions, reality is what it is, and it does not care if you believe in it or not.
Failure to be able to discern what is real and what is not, is the foundation of failure or success. In the extreme, it is the difference between life and death.

First problem: Natural stupidity will always outdo Artificial Intelligence.

Second, once a person realizes that what they are reading and hearing do not match reality, the persons perception changes forever. There is no going back.

Third, you can avoid reality. You can deny it. You can create your own dream reality. But reality exists, its consequences cannot be ignored. It bites, it bites very, very hard when you are forced to face it. It is cold and relentless.

One day, the Woke, the pampered will wake up to find reality has arrived on their door. Imagine one day the Woke, pampered, mommies little darling waking up to find mommy and daddy have been moved into a seniors home. The house is mortgaged to the hilt, all their saving spent to pay for the medications they need. Now there is no money left. The little darling is out of the basement, out of the house with only the clothes on their back. They have a degree in music appreciation and no job and no job skills. This will be the result of the reality they ignored. Now, it bites and bites hard. Now you have to face it, cold and alone. Nobody is coming to save you. Good luck.
