I haven’t ever been shot, but have had 3 people in my family shot. Two in the head and one in the leg. They all survived. The two in the head both said they didn’t feel it at first, then said they just felt pressure. But I think those were small bullets…like 22 or something. So maybe that is the difference? Either way I’m not interested in experimenting.
Edit: Oh, forgot about one other family member who was shot. He died from the GSW. Bigger bullet, I believe, so not sure if there was pain. Quick death.

Yeah I have to agree the bullet and caliber makes a huge difference. Alto where you are hit. I can see where a shot to the head might shut down the pain center in the brain in a way a shot to your foot would not. Also a shot that fractures bone would be different than a shot that only hits muscle and fat or an organ like your liver or lungs.
A .22 pistol would probably hurt less than a high power rifle like a .30 caliber with an expanding bullet like a pointed soft core Yet if you get hit right in the heart with that you will probably be dead before you pain can kick in.. Why firing squads work.
