Perhaps My Speculation Was on the Mark

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

On October 9, 2023, I posted this:  https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2023/10/09/hamas-attack-on-israel-is-puzzling/

What follows purports to be a description of the impenetrable  Israeli security barrier around Gaza written by a former commander of a section of the fence.  Whether it is or not, the description of the security barrier provided can be checked.  It seems impossible that Hamas could have succeeded in a surprise attack:

Here’s what  commander of the Kerem Shalom Battalion, who knows the area in detail, wrote…

Something here doesn’t add up to me!!! This is a mystery that I can’t find an answer to.

I happen to know how things work in Gaza and on the border. I was the commander of the Kerem Shalom sector (Rafih), I was in charge of the Kissuf sector, I know the perimeter fence very well, I know how the army works there. I was in the Shatti refugee camp in Gaza, I was in charge of the Jibaliya refugee camp, I would make ambushes on the fence and deep in the area. I met Gazans, ate and breathed Gaza.

The obstacle is built so that even a fox cannot pass it:

Set alerts according to 3 levels of pressure. She must alert when she is cut. There are 24/7 forces that are responsible for arriving within a few minutes, if not seconds, to the point where there is an alert in the fence. Every day do at least one penetration practice. Each subdivision has a standby squad whose role is to increase the force in an emergency situation. Observations scattered along the border cover every inch of it. The female observers are champions in identification. They don’t miss. They detect movement even before it even approaches the obstacle – day and night.

At problematic points (dead areas) they place a tank with observation and detection capabilities, and a terrifying firepower. In some cases snipers are deployed in the field.

Every day before dawn there is a “dawn alert” procedure. At this hour all the forces are awake (in this case also the hour when hundreds of terrorists entered Israel). The night shift alternates with the day shift. The commander of each force inspects the axis to make sure there were no infiltrations during the night. Trackers that move on the axis know how to recognize traces. They know who crossed the fence, how much and even when.

Each scenario has a clear procedure. For example, a procedure for infiltrating terrorists, a procedure for taking hostages. Everything is written in blood and has been proving itself for years.

There are several other layers of security that this is not the place to talk about. In short, we are talking about an obstacle that proves itself for years and years.

So how the hell does a Palestinian tractor move towards the fence without anyone reacting to it?

How did the tractor manage to sabotage the fence for a long hour and open access to Israel without anyone reacting to it?

How did hundreds of terrorists and civilians cross the barrier without anyone on our side lifting a finger?

How did terrorists arrive on foot and in vehicles, armed from head to toe, to dozens of Israeli settlements, without any reaction from our side?

How did hundreds of terrorists stay in Israeli territory for long hours, shoot hundreds of Israelis, loot property, without there being even a single reaction on our side?

How did it happen that hundreds of terrorists kidnapped dozens of Israelis, surprised soldiers, officers when they were not ready, and kidnapped them to Gaza, without anyone stopping them?

How is it that one bullet was not fired?

How did all this happen under our noses?

Where did an entire division go?

Where did 3 brigades go?

Who swallowed 9 battalions?

What happened to 36 companies?

Where did an entire regular infantry brigade go that usually outnumbers the elite?

Where were all the reserve battalions that augment the regular army?

Where did thousands of soldiers go???

Someone here needs to provide explanations!!

In view of this description of the security barrier, this statement by the Israeli General Halevi admitting the failure of the Israeli Defense Force to protect Israel from Hamas is obviously intended as a coverup for the fact that the attack was allowed in order to close the book on Palestine.  Since 1947 the world has done nothing to stop Israel’s absorption of Palestine, so naturally Israel expects no opposition this time.  It looks like this is a miscalculation by Israel.   https://www.rt.com/news/584770-idf-general-hamas-failed/

C’mon…you knew it was all bullshit the moment they hit that music festival, conveniently relocated just two days prior. You need international victims to build a coalition of enraged populations.

Its on the wikipedia page too

Supernova Sukkot Gathering was a weekend-long outdoor trance music festival that began on 6 October 2023.[11][12] It took place in the western Negev desert,[5] approximately 5 km (3.1 mi) from the Gaza–Israel barrier, near the Re’im kibbutz.[3][13] Produced by an organizer called Nova[13][5] (also referred to as Tribe of Nova),[14] it was the Israeli edition (pre-festival event) of Universo Paralello, a psy trance festival that had started in Bahia, Brazil, 23 years ago.[11] The organizers switched to the site only two days before, after the original location in southern Israel did not work out.[15] Scheduled to coincide with the Jewish festival of Simchat Torah,[3] the rave was billed as a celebration of “friends, love and infinite freedom”.[13] The festival site had three stages, a camping zone, and an area with a bar and food.[3] Attendees described the crowd as mostly consisting of Israelis ages 20 to 40, from across the country.[5] Attendance was reported to be 3,500, but figures vary.[16][a] Security guards and police were present at the festival.[5][15

The location of the rave was 3 miles from the Gaza fence. THAT is within 120 mm mortar range. Hamas could have hit the rave without leaving Gaza. Yeah,it was a set up like Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Another good question is why exactly are Israeli citizens unarmed sheep? Considering the neighborhood,THAT doesn’t make any sense.

That commander of the Kerem Shalom Battalion is clearly antisemitic.

sportin their French-cuffed sleeves;

they need our trust….for us to believe-

the god they serve exists to deceive!

Israeli Ground Forces Get Cold Feet?

After making boisterous threats of immediate ground assault into Gaza, the IDF apparently has gotten cold feet and sobered up to the harsh reality that they would face inordinate losses and/or defeat. So now, they’re pretending to gather forces while re-evaluating the situation, and their chances. In the meantime, they’ve resorted to indiscriminately mass bombing civilians from the sky.

But major problems in mobilization have been revealed:

The newspaper The Times of Israel announced that reservists who are mobilized into the ranks of the Israeli army face serious problems because they lack adequate uniforms and other equipment (⏺including elements of individual ballistic protection).

It is stated that this problem is being tried to be solved independently in the People’s Republic of China (Aliehpress), but also that the USA has announced military aid that will relieve the logistics of the Israeli army.

The Israel Defense Forces were not ready for large-scale mobilization of reservists and combat deployment in war conditions. This was reported by the Israeli portal Ynet.

The reservists gathered from all over the country were not provided with food, they did not have the equipment, basic necessities, and personal hygiene.

Volunteers have already announced a nationwide collection of necessary items for reservists who continue to arrive at collection points throughout the wartime state.

Beyond that, Bibi has apparently premised the delays under the guise of giving time for Americans and civilians to evacuate Gaza. But this is complicated by several factors, one of them being the fact that Egypt has apparently closed the southern Rafah checkpoint and doesn’t want Palestinians refugees to flood into Egypt.

Why’s that? Because it has long been the secret plan of Israel to push Palestinians out of Gaza and “resettle” them into a new home in the Sinai, and make them “someone else’s problem” so Israel can completely take over Gaza….

Meanwhile, President Raisi of Iran reportedly spoke to bin Salman of KSA on the phone regarding support for Palestine. There’s a sense of coalitions being formed behind the scenes for something much larger, but there’s still no certain indication that the big Black Swan some people expect will occur.

Unlike the good ole USA,Israel isn’t spending tax money on “vibrant” diversity. They shouldn’t be short on beans, bullets, ammo, and uniforms.

Sort of reminds you of 9/11 doesn’t it. All the cameras at the pentagon went down, FBI and CIA failed to track known terrorists, people killed with boxcutters, etc. etc. It’s almost as if it(9/11, Hamas incursion) were planned/allowed to happen. The one country that is on alert 24/7 for terrorist attacks gets overrun by said terrorists. Yes, anything is possible, but both events were highly improbable.
