Cuz the people I know who saw it got really emotional for about 24 hours…then afterwards went on about their daily lives. Would it be a mistake to extrapolate that to the rest of the population??

Most people don’t work in law enforcement or other professions who deal with this issue. But, I think you’re underestimating how many people were in denial that trafficking children is a real thing. I don’t think it’s all inertia. There is some denial (which is a space for improvement by awareness/publicity – becoming private, then public knowledge), there is a lot of ignorance about what can be done, what should be done. How many trafficked children do you know? How would you find one to help? The vid is probably pretty accurate, many kids get involved as runaways, from homes where there is abuse and addiction, and the victim is very committed to staying on the same path and fleeing from help. If you are willing to be part of the solution, and you try to get involved as a potential foster parent, how nutty and woke have these “social services” become? I have considered it for many years, but I am not confident that getting involved with such an agency would not put my own children at risk. I don’t vax, I do spank, I’m mostly a free-range parent so the kids sometimes get minor injuries that I don’t take very seriously.
While working in the ER, I did see young women I believe were in that situation. Desperately trying to get back to it, rejecting all offers of help, lying, sneaking around and blocking family from knowledge of their whereabouts. Other than locking THEM up, there’s literally nothing you can do.
