A gunman killed at least 22 people in separate shootings across Lewiston, Maine, Wednesday night, according to law enforcement sources and reports.
The person of interest behind the deadly mass shooting in Maine is reportedly a trained firearms instructor believed to be in the Army Reserve, according to law enforcement sources in the state.
Robert Card, 40, was stationed out of Saco, Maine and reported “hearing voices” and threatened to shoot up the National Guard Base where he was stationed, the sources said.
Card, originally of Bowdoin, Maine, should be considered “armed and dangerous,” and was reportedly committed to a mental health facility over the summer and was released after a two-week stay, the sources added.

It doesn’t pass the smell test. He had tactile pants on but was not up armored? I didn’t see a bandoleer or magazine pouch. He scoped his AR and it also has a flashlight. For the type of active shooter he was doing, it was the wrong weapon as the AR he had was set up for 100+ yard shooting. As a weapons instructor he would have known a shorter barrel with a red dot would be a better choice of weapon.

While it was awfully nice of them to be able not only to locate and post on social media an image of him with the “assault rifle” (wouldn’t want people to miss that detail) held at high port while the shooting was still ongoing, it gave us a glimpse into one of the notable pecularities often associated with these events; no ammo.
No ammo vest, no double taped magazine, no ammo pouches or LBE, no pack, no sign of a spare magazine anywhere.
Seems reasonable.
It was forty years ago yesterday that we went to Grenada. I remember the one thing that stood out to me as we were putting on out chutes at GreenRamp indicating that this time it wasn’t a drill or an exercise; live ammo and lots of it. We dropped everything that wasn’t mission critical in order to fill up on grenades, extra mags, LAAWs, claymores, whatever. We were loaded down, all of it live and free flowing from crates and cans all over the place. I bet we all were carrying at least sixty pounds of ordnance a piece and that was knowing there would be thousands of us.
This guy was so confident that he only brought along one magazine and still managed to shoot over 80 people.

So far I have seen 3 different pics of the “shooter” and they don’t look anything alike. The Daily Mail is showing a completely different person. Even in that pic above the guy holding the gun has a longer nose then the mugshot looking pic.
Would like to ask anyone who “hears voices in their head” why such a strange, disembodied voice would have to be obeyed, above a REAL voice of a REAL person, saying “don’t shoot!”
There is nothing particularly compelling about hearing a voice, no matter where it comes from. If it said “Let’s go to a Beyonce concert!”, would you have to go?
It’s a suspiciously trite go-to justification that hopes you have no further questions, such as:
