The fact is, this was a very effective tactical operation carried out by Hamas. Hamas attacked and defeated a half dozen Israeli bases and checkpoints some manned with some of their best trained troops. In short Israel got its ass kicked. Israel refuses to say how many troops were killed.

I honestly believe the near complete lack of Biblical literacy among most church-goers is the problem. People are lazy. The Bible is a big book. They are comfortable listening to people tell them what it says, rather than opening it up and reading it themselves.
Second problem: most people who do take the time to read their Bible don’t understand it. They’ve been taught incorrectly. They take the simplistic approach that the Old Testament is past and the New Testament is present. They miss the fact that Christ made a surprise return in Acts chapter 9, “Christened” a new apostle named Paul and delivered a new set of instructions for him to share with the world, which take the shape of 13 incredibly important epistles. (But they don’t contain red letters so folks don’t take them as seriously as they should.)
As Moses was to the Jews, so should Paul be to us Gentiles. Think of it; God gave us an apostle and we would rather have the 12 He sent to Israel (one for each tribe). With all the Jew hatred here you’d think we’d get that much right.
How people miss this (and/or adamantly fight against it) is beyond baffling to me, but I keep trying.
