SACRAMENTO, CA — Governor Gavin Newsom has called on the California state legislature to pass yet another minimum wage increase so that citizens can afford the products that have been made more expensive due to the previous minimum wage increase, sources confirmed Thursday.
“This new wage increase will help California households keep up with the increase in the cost of goods and services increased by the last wage increase,” Newsom told reporters at a “Fight for $50” press conference. “There will be no negative effects from this wage increase. And if there are, we will just increase the minimum wage yet another time.”
“It’s a foolproof plan.”
Some economists question the validity of this strategy, pointing out that it’s only likely to lead to the rapid replacement of human workers with kiosks and robots. But these economists are probably far-right Nazi sympathizers, according to experts, and their old tweets are currently being looked at.
At publishing time, Newsom had hurriedly replaced his “Fight for $50” slogan with “Fight for $100” as the price of products had skyrocketed once again.

Fast food workers to get a $20 minimum wage in CA
California fast food workers will be paid at least $20 per hour next year under a new law signed Thursday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
When it takes effect on April 1, fast food workers in the state will have among the highest minimum wages in the country, according to data compiled by the University of California-Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education. The state’s minimum wage for all other workers is at $15.50 per hour and is already among the highest in the nation…
The $20 minimum wage is just a starting point. The law creates a fast food council that has the power to increase that wage each year through 2029 by 3.5% or the change in averages for the U.S. Consumer Price Index for urban wage earners and clerical workers, whichever is lower.
Kind of an interesting loophole….
The raise takes effect on April 1 and applies to workers at restaurants that have at least 60 locations nationwide — with an exception for restaurants that make and sell their own bread, like Panera Bread.

Bugers in California now cost $40 for a quarter pounder, they need another raise!
I wonder how much Panera paid for the exemption. Jimmy John’s and Subway also bake their own bread in the store.
But I don’t think Subway and JJ’s sell their bread (outside of what your sandwich is made on).
JJ’s does as yesterday’s loaf. It would not be much of a step for Subway to start selling theirs to avoid the catastrophe of this absurd government mandate.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish the Babylon Bee from actual reality. America is a sitcom.
And like most sitcoms, the writers are Jewish.
And most of the audience are insouciants.
The Bee is the truth, and the truth is a lie.
That bear should be eating his head in real life.
I lol’d at that picture. Looks like it’s whispering sweet gay nothings into his ear.
I recently found out electricity costs 45 cents per KWH in the Bay Area. Versus 18 cents here. And they want everybody to drive electric cars. Ha ha.
They want an EV in every garage, not people actually driving them.
My electricity is hovers between $.10 & $.11 / KWH. It was $.09 when Joey was selected to be resident.
Will somebody PLEASE explain this idiot the meaning of the term “Inflationary spiral”!
Haha… wouldn’t matter.
it won’t matter, you’re right. He will be somewhere in Washington working at some position for FedGov when cali’s slow collapse turns into freefall. Everyone has a bag of cash from their $1000 a week job mopping floors but stores are closing and fastfood is a $100+ dinner for family of four, electricity is rationed with brownouts, crime is free-roving, and hard-working, tax-paying whites are fleeing. You see more mexico flags on cars and bldgs than US ones in Southern Cali and the only reason it hasn’t ceded to mehico is because they’d lose the free chit if they did.
It IS Mehico by all practical purposes, it is just USA enough to keep up the bennies.
Who wants to be left holding the bag on an inflationary spiral?

This seems related:

I want to know what the other bears are doing while the one we can see tongues Newsome’s ear.
it’s pretty clear…california will go bust sooner than later!…it’s the main reason people are leaving and avoiding going there!
So while the one bear licks Newsom’s ear, what are the other two bears….um.. .. licking?
The proletariat is conditioned to understand government determines wages.
