While you are correct that illegal aliens can purchase a firearm at a gunshow or anywhere else for that matter, it is illegal for any person, licensed dealer or not, to sell them a firearm. It is also illegal for the illegal alien to purchase the firearm. However, the BATF chooses not to bother actually doing their job and stopping it. I am in the retail sporting goods industry and routinely go to gunshows. While the BATF has informed me that they have undercover agents at almost every show, they have further informed me that it is “not a priority” to stop this type of illegal business. My point is that this is already in violation of the law, we don’t need another law, we just need enforcement of the existing one.
