OT, but it reminds me of vegans’ goals. Not eating meat doesn’t mean that the pigs and cows and chickens will go live happily in the forest. I mean, a few pigs could become feral, trashing everything and eating up other crops like sugar beets, but not the 73 million hogs currently in the US. If everyone gives up meat it doesn’t mean the animals would go live joyous lives. It means they wouldn’t exist at all. So, is it worse the way we have it now – where they enjoy some happy days suckling at their mother’s teat and playing with their siblings and getting free food and then one day being (hopefully mercifully) dispatched? A perfectly reasonable case can be made that it’s better to live happily for a little while than never to have lived at all.
The nutters intend that we smart people go live in the fucking forest while THEY consume the last of of the modern conveniences. That’s WHY we call them nutters.

The problem with these people is that they have no real-life experience to be able to understand what it would be like if they got what they’re asking for.
Every time I see these Stop Oil Protesters, I think back to the time I did the project to hook up my well.
A year ago, I had a well drilled on my property. After that I did the project to hook up the electrical to the well and the water pipe from the well to the house, I did all that myself. That project required that I dig 300 ft of trench in order to bury the electrical conduit and water pipe. I dug that 300 ft of trench with my backhoe in about 3 to 5 hours.
Here’s the point in all this. I would like to challenge any of these Stop Oil Protesters with the question of how they would they go about doing that project if that they had to do that themselves. I should point out that the ground I was digging in has plenty of rocks and the ground itself feels like concrete If you try to dig in it with a shovel. What that backhoe can do in a minute or two would take all day with a pick and shovel.
So here’s the type of challenge I’m imagining, offer anyone of them $1000 to dig that same 300 ft of trench 1 ft wide and 2 ft deep and they have the choice of either a pick and shovel which would take them probably a month if they choose that approach, or they could use the backhoe and do it in less then a day.
I can’t imagine any better way for them to face the reality of what they’re asking for. I wonder what they would choose.

Without petroleum, the well would have to be dug by hand, as well and there would be no pipes, motors or wire, so would require a bucket and rope to draw the water for the 300′ trek back to the house.
I was forced to put in a 500 foot long sewer line, quoted at $35,000, did it myself for $4,000, rented a track hoe, one boulder was 3 ton’s that I removed, they would had to get all the villgae idiots to remove it, if they could have, I had to roll it out with the track hoe, I always tell the idiots we would still be in the stone age without oil.
What I always noticed these people know it all, but never did nothing, never produced a damn thing for society.
Why do we listen to the “I was for it but now I’m against it” unprincipled crowd? I know enough to know I’ve seen too much.
