I’ve posted this twice before for Thanksgiving, but since Admin has posted a WKRP Thanksgiving, and Alice’s Restaurant Thanksgiving, I thought that I would re-post this old clip from the Carson show.
Here are Johnny and Doc discussing this day…sort of…
As soon as I see the screen through the tears, I’ll thank you, Steve, for the belly laugh.
Sweet baby Jesus, I miss TV like that.
I wonder if any of the idiots who cover these type shows now ever look back and compare the crap their woke writer’s put on the teleprompter to what real talent looked like.
Compare Jonathan Winters, Red Skelton, Milton Berle, Phyllis Dillar, Carol Burnett, etc. to the current crop of screen readers. Watch one of the old Dean Martin roasts. Every single one of those people could ad-lib on any subject and have you in tears for an hour.
Real shame.
But, be thankful we had it in our lifetime!
Thank you Steve. Classic, as JT suggests.
Crazy that the trumpet player is funnier than the network clowns now.
Hear Hear
My all-time Carson favorite.
Nostalgia doesn’t cover it. We used to laugh at ourselves. Now what passes for comedy is laughable, dirty, and ever so seriously delivered by conceited imposters. All the goodness and goodwill have rotted away somehow.
MEDIC!!!
Got another bullet hole in the foot over here!

Thanks, Steve. TV has fallen so far. This skit was almost surely all ad lib from two seriously talented guys.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nobody does humor like that anymore.
