You know, I think we’ve finally come to that point where some things just aren’t funny anymore. We try to make jokes about a lot of things now that desperately need action taken against… and nobody lifts a finger… our children and grand children will curse us for what we have allowed to continue.

Au contraire!!!! I’ve spent the last three years trying to explain to any who were within earshot, including my children (who will likely never have children of their own), just what was happening and how fucked up everything was getting and how fucked up everything was going to ultimately get. I cried every day for two years straight while i watched friends, neighbors, and family members get sick and die (including a 22 year old triple jabbed niece from cancer).
All that earned me was sideways looks, denials (“that cant happen here”), abandonment or avoidance and a lifetime supply of Reynolds Wrap. What I can see now is how fucking funny it all is. Mass death, war, pestilence, famine, hate, poison, murder . . . it’s all just a massive joke. The best part is the punchline. I was the biggest joke of all for trying to wake people up to the horror that they utterly refuse to admit exists.

There have been rumors since the 1970s that the US was pledging national lands as collateral to foreign nations buying US Treasury Bonds. All the National Parks, all the National Forests, National Rivers, wilderness areas, protected sanctuaries, etc. “Buy our debt, and if we ever fail to pay it back, these lands along with logging and mineral rights will be yours.” Ever wonder why every President keeps finding new bits of land to set aside and restrict development? Gotta find more collateral for all the new trillions in debt…
And, oh yes, that collateral also includes intellectual property as well. All those ideas and technology which the government had funded development of but then restricted from public use? Just more collateral. Maybe 15 years ago, the Bush family began investing heavily into a company named Ocean Tomo. It is one of the main businesses operating to auction off surplus government properties, especially intellectual property. That is, of course, the same Bush family that began shifting a lot of their investments into big pharma 20 years ago.
