TUESDAY TUNES – EDMUNDS/HUNTER

I know I’m old when these early 1970’s rockers are two of my favorite.

Always get Dave Edmunds confused with Dave Mason. And then there’s Bob Welch.

Ah yes the British invasion, good times, great music. Now we have the Japanese invasion but most old rockers haven’t heard but man y’all are missing out.

I got Kanamis guitar pick at a show last spring. Misas bass pick hit my hand, but I didn’t get it. That wouldn’t have happened 40 years ago. New album this summer, then tour? Also Lovebites coming to USA for 1st time, and maybe Bridear (new album) and Scandal (new album just released) with tours upcoming.

Most of me favorite bands had their heyday in the 70’s,and,as a young kid saw them many times!

I was too young and thus missed Jimi/Janis/Jim but saw many times Bowie/Queen/Bad Co./Yes/ELP/,this list goes on along with of course me favorite Jethro Tull!

I missed T-Rex/Skynard by literally 2 weeks due to plane crash,has tix for Zepplin and Bonham died…….,sigh.

My dad got me tix(great seats)to many show(100’s)as he was a firm believer in music,as me friends came from not so rich families he always got a bunch so we all could go,thanks again dad and RIP!

I love Mozart. I’m REALLY old.

Here’s the Beach Boys, inventing a genre, way before it was “invented’:

Y’know, when Mozart was my age, he’d already been dead for decades?

I saw Ian Hunter front row three times at two Agoras (Cleveland, Youngstown). Once with Todd Rundgren and Mick Ronson for a John Anderson political fundraiser, and twice on his own. I passed a doobie and a lighter to him on stage. He gave the lighter back.

You lost limbs?! Was there a The Who in Cincinnati-style fatal stampede?

Ahhh, this makes me smile! First concert 1974 Cal Jam: Rare Earth, Earth Wind & Fire, Seals & Croft, Black Oak Arkansas, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Emerson Lake & Palmer (complete with elevated rotating piano). Followed that with tons of arena shows plus small venues. Still rockin’ after all these years! Nice memories! (Current fave: Dead & Co, lol. See ya in Vegas this Spring!)

Just referred the page link to a friend who likes Hunter and The Hoop.
What made you think of Dave Edmunds?
Wasn’t a comment 2 Fridays ago, was it? “Twangin’.”
Regardless, Thx, for: 2 other obscure faves:
-Crawling From The Wreckage;
-Once Bitten Twice Shy;
and 3 great reminders:
-Girls Talk;
-All The Way To Memphis;
-The Golden Age of Rock & Roll

While you’re going down Brit invasion memory lane, have a look at this Scots distillery:
