Young women in rich countries are becoming more and more liberal and show less and less interest in children
So much for the maternal instinct.
Buried in a national poll from late 2023 is a stunning finding: American women are much less worried about falling fertility rates than men. Fewer than one in three women said they were concerned about the trend, compared to 43 percent of men.
The data, from the respected American Family Survey, an annual study of 3,000 Americans, adds to a picture emerging globally of two linked trends that may be accelerating the baby bust.
In the last decade, young women in rich countries have moved sharply to the left. Young men have not. In some countries they have become much more conservative. The result is a gap in political and cultural attitudes between the sexes that has become a chasm.
The Financial Times captured the trend in a graphic that has received huge attention, with nearly 25 million views on X since last Friday:

That gender-ideological difference comes on top of the fact that liberal political attitudes are linked to lower fertility rates, a trend that is also accelerating.
In a 2018 paper, researchers found in the 1970s, the most liberal people in the General Social Survey – a yearly survey of American attitude and behavior – had the most kids.
By the 2010-2014 surveys, the gap had not just closed but reversed. The most conservative people had nearly three children on average, the most liberal under two.
Similarly, last year’s American Family Survey showed a huge gap between Republicans and Democrats over whether “declining fertility is a negative sign for the nation.”
By a 55-15 margin, Republicans agreed. But Democrats were actually more likely to call lower birth rates a positive trend, by a 32-27 margin.
In other words, the move to the left by the young would likely signal lower birth rates even if both genders were going that way.
But the problem now may be even more fundamental.
Women, not men, ultimately control the decision to have kids. If the current political polarization continues, more and more young women may not find any young men they find ideologically acceptable – for marriage or children.
Most marriages are between spouses with similar political ideologies. That trend is also increasing. In the United States, fewer than 4 percent of marriages now occur between Democrats and Republicans.
The convergence of the gender gap and baby bust is particularly obvious in South Korea, because the ideological gap between women and men has widened so steeply and quickly. In addition, Koreans have a strong taboo against out-of-wedlock births. Women essentially cannot have children if they do not marry.
Not coincidentally, South Korea now has by far the lowest birth rate of any major country. South Korean women are now predicted to have about 0.7 children on average, far below the “replacement rate” of 2.1 children needed to keep national populations steady.
Even more stunning, the South Korean birthrate shows no signs of bottoming. And many Korean women appear unconcerned. The Atlantic wrote last year about a South Korean women’s movement called the “four nos” – “no to dating, no to sex with men, no to marriage, and no to childbirth.” As one woman said, her friends “kind of hate men, and they are afraid of them.”
The trend clearly shook the article’s author, a single American woman who is having a child through in vitro fertilization. Near its end, she wrote: After talking with so many thoughtful and kind young people, I mostly felt sad that, a generation from now, there will be fewer like them in their country.

But how to reverse this polarization and its consequences is unclear.
Governments can provide tax credits and other financial incentives to have kids. They can subsidize child care and encourage or require generous parental leave. But if, as in South Korea, women simply dislike men so much they don’t want to have marry them – much less raise families with them – it’s hard to imagine a government policy turning the tide.

A 36 year old former coworker passed around a petition to require our insurance to cover in vitro fertilization. Since our company self insured,it would have raised all of our insurance premiums. I reminded her of her 3 previous abortions. That went as well as expected. Guess who got sent to HR?

After my divorce the few women I have dated each didnt last long after seeing how terrible of a single mother they were. Dirty kitchens, dirty bathrooms, slovenly behavior. They don’t make em like my mother or grandmothers anymore. I don’t trust women who don’t want kids.
Don’t ever date a woman with a kid, with the intent to marry her. You don’t want to be responsible for some other dudes kid.
There are plenty of women dropping numerous kids. It’s mostly the invaders. They are defeating us with the fecundity of their women. Our children will pay the price for our cowardice to stem this flow .

The solution is simple, as the cause has already been identified: “women in wealthy countries…” Wealthy countries are decadent and their women are largely obsessed with self absorbed bullshit. Once the wealth is gone (and it will be), and your country is a hell hole, there is no carrying capacity for self absorbed bullshit. Gone are the social media posts about the vacation you took, of the designer bag you bought, the fancy meal you ate, and the useless make work cubicle farm job you did as a strong independent woman™️. Now you are left struggling to figure out where your next meal is coming from, and how to avoid capture by roving bandits with bad intentions. That won’t get likes on tiktok and snatch chat.
Just like that, your country collapses socially and economically into the pit of despair. At that point, there is nothing else left to do but screw and make babies, or self deliver. Many will undoubtedly choose the latter, as they will not be able to face the complete loss of any opportunity to aspire to a taylor swiftesque existence, since the money and all the supporting infrastructure to allow such a banal and inane lifestyle will all be gone. This is the female analog to the “hard times make strong men” part of the story, though I expect hard times will simply make even more psychologically damaged women, if that is even possible.
The few that can get their minds right (and most who can already have, so I don’t expect there will be a mass “eureka!” moment) will go about living life as God and nature intended. They, and the men who understand and embrace the work that needs to be done, will be the remnant that (possibly) survives what is coming for all western countries. The only solution for “too big to fail” is to fail anyway – in earth shatteringly spectacular fashion – and then get smaller, so a functional civilization can be re-established. A large part of that will be the culling of all the dead ends, which is a process already well underway owing to the lack of reproduction. What we are living today is an aberration. It’s all fake and ghey and utterly destructive to our well being. Therefore, it will go away. It’s just going to take a while for that to become fully evident.
The women who presently make their entire existence on self absorbed bullshit (i.e., liberalism) won’t like this outcome, but they have assured it by their own actions. And for any who haven’t yet noticed, men have largely checked out, realizing there is no gain to be made by subjugating themselves to modern woman who not only don’t care to give them progeny, but will viciously asset strip them to ruination, and then gloat about doing so.
The train is now running wide open on a dead end track, with women’s egos (and spending on the stroking of same) feeding the fire in the boiler. Endless bread and circuses are being served in the dining car. But rest assured, the engine will either blow up from overpressure, or crash at the end of the line. The outcome is the same either way. The solution is to stop doing all the stuff that got us to this point. It will be forced on us, because as with a heroin junkie, there is zero willingness to preemptively stop taking the hits and suffer the withdrawal. The OD is going to be a bitch, and there won’t be any narcan available when it happens.
Women will still eat “swimp” and steak at fancy diners,and buy shoes even if they have to hook for it.
Not so much in a collapsed economy, where very few men will have the means to pay for a piece of ass. And it bears repeating that a lot of men have now chosen to forego involvement with women to get access to sex, because they’ve decided the juice is no longer worth the squeeze. Many women have made themselves so unappealing and unpleasant to be around that they’re not even worth using for a quick roll in the hay.
Sure, a lot of women will resort to outright trying to “sell it”, but if there is a dearth of paying customers, then they’re still out of luck.
If there is a collapse women will become sex slaves for their masters.
It’s already cheap. Imagine how cheap it will get when the market gets flooded with ten times as many. No, they won’t be getting anything fancy.
The 20-30 crowd at Christmas dinner tolde it was $17,000 CO pay for a childbirth. It might contribute to the problem.
When society collapses there will be no doctors to pay for childbirth. It will be free and only the fittest will survive.
God didn’t equip women with common sense and logic. He expected The Patriarchy to guide,and control, their behavior. Giving women the vote is like giving the car keys to a young child.
Letting women choose love marriage was the real kicker. We should have never stopped arranged marriages for 12-14 year old girls. That’s the only way to be somewhat sure that they are chaste and to be able to raise them to be good mothers instead of 304s.
In my youtube feed, for whatever reason, some videos showed up where some octagenarians are asked for advice on how to live life. The answers were usually a combination of “don’t live life according to other people’s wishes, be free in thoughts and actions, find meaningful work or activies but don’t put work before family, take care of your physical body and mental state”. And one said as simple advice for life “have children!”
We will be going back to arranged marriages of women as young as 12 years old. That’s the only way to have a pretty good guarantee that they are still chaste and to be able to instill in them family values. Women are the most selfish, awful sex if left to themselves.
Then there is the vaxx problem for fertility……so find an unvaxxed conservative single good looking women age 23-33……Maybe that is the secret hidden in Antarctica
