The globalist overlords are attempting to block every option we have to remain independent from government tyranny. The World Economic Forum (WEF) has proposed a full ban on homegrown food, citing their favorite excuse – climate change.
That’s right, the WEF believes that home gardening is destroying the planet. “The impact on the environment is almost five times higher at 0.34kg per portion for individual gardens, such as vegetable patches or allotments,” they stated, alluding to a study by the University of Michigan that was funded by the very people supporting this agenda. “The carbon footprint of homegrown foods is five times greater than produce from conventional agricultural practices, such as rural farms, data show.”
Fruit is apparently 8.6 times more eco-friendly when grown by government-controlled agencies, and vegetables are 5.8 times safer for the planet when grown under the same conditions. Tomatoes and asparagus were the only produce they identified as safe to grow at home. “We find that urban farmers and gardeners can reduce their net impact by focusing on foods that are high-carbon in conventional agriculture,” one of the study’s researchers claims. Obviously, all of this is absolutely ABSURD.
The elites want complete control over our food supply. They have already implemented numerous regulations to prevent people from hunting and fishing. Now, they demand that we peasants cease gardening at home and use studies they are funding as examples.
Ironically, the US government and others were promoting at-home gardening, such as “Victory Gardens,” during the last World War when food supplies were diminished. The people will be easier to control when they are hungry and weak. The globalists feel the need to control us in every aspect of life. Any agency associated with the World Economic Forum is not to be trusted, and the governments who comply with their demands are traitors who want to watch society crumble.

That home gardens are more carbon intensive is such a load of crap. Home farmers do not rely on giant diesel tractors and trucks to till, plant and harvest crops. Industrial greenhouse growers actually ADD CO2 to make their plants grow better (which would likely shock the average WEF-o-phile). Vastly disseminated local farming is the key to sustainable and appropriate agriculture, especially as the population rises, and the only reason to fight against that is control, not carbon or pollution or efficiency, but control of food and thereby control of people.

So they’ve factored in the energy requirements of commercially harvesting, cooling, moving, distributing, and stocking centrally produced foods to everyone in America from wherever it is produced to wherever it is consumed versus producing it and eating within walking distance of your garden?

They also conveniently omit to state the percentage of global CO2 emissions that are attributed to home gardening. Perhaps they tried but lost count of the number of zeros after the decimal point.
Especially since the plants take in CO2 and put out O2. If I can plant a tree to offset some BS carbon emissions, surely I can plant a garden to offset its OWN CO2 “production.”
I would give a shit if CO2 was a problem, it is not.
We can’t get a spreadsheet accounting for the cradle to grave costs of ANY of the horrific “green energy” mechanisms so that WE can evaluate them on their TRUE costs. If you look at the study, the BULK of their “energy/carbon” costs come right up front with “infrastructure” (planting beds, tools, etc.). And to your other point, how much of the factories to process the food, the factories to build all the extra needed trucks, trains, etc., was factored into their equation? They TOO represent massive energy requirements at startup.

You can make ANY set of data say ANYTHING you need it to if you set your parameters correctly when summarizing the data.
When I was taking my marine ops training the math teacher stated this same thing.

If you count the plastic garden shed, the little wheelbarrow, the hand tools, the baby rototiller, the fricking garden gnome, the fencing and whatnot then the backyard garden probably is less efficient than a factory farm.

My garden is my business as is my well and my heating arrangement. I learned in grade school there are people who just absolutely insist on ‘being in charge’ and the best thing to do is let ‘em think they are.
Vote against them, speak against them, act in your own interest regardless of them, take what value they offer, give only what you absolutely must to keep them away from your space. Understand they are the enemies of all human freedom and life, and have been… since grade school, forever ago.
At any time of your own choosing you may determine they have infringed on you and yours in an intolerable way, and that is the time to light ‘em up.

It was just September, 2022, that our own Department of Agriculture started a database of all community gardens and school gardens across the United States ostensibly to teach proper gardening techniques.
