The Marxist destruction of private property rights is on full display after a viral video circulating TikTok, then posted on X, shows a migrant informing other migrants how to “invade” unoccupied homes across America and take advantage of progressive squatting laws.
“I found out that there is a law that says that if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it,” the migrant said in a video on TikTok, which Collin Rugg first posted on X.
The migrant said he has African friends who have taken over seven homes thanks to squatting laws.

The video is very concerning because progressive squatting laws are getting out of control. These laws are being abused, and landlords are being screwed.
Take, for instance, a woman who found her home full of people squatting illegally was arrested this week for changing the door locks.
“It’s starting to feel like illegal immigrants have more rights than actual citizens,” one X user said.

This squatters rights issue is akin to the Common Law regarding adverse possession — and such laws are in all 50 States.
In California, for example, you can gain title to someone else’s real estate if you occupy it openly and notoriously for a period of 5 years, and pay the property taxes on it for those 5 years — even if the real owner is also paying those taxes. Most other States require longer than 5 years — it’s just that real estate in CA has historically been so valuable that a shorter period was put into the statutes to hopefully get the property owners to actually pay attention to what they own and to take responsibility for owning it … i.e., by keeping folks off it that they don’t authorize to be there.
There was an actual case in the early-’70s of someone who gained title to a beach front lot in Malibu by following the letter of the statutes … a lot that, in those days, was valued at about $10K per linear foot of beach front. The way it happens in these cases: either the true owner tries to kick the person off their property, and the defendant asserts the adverse possession as a defense; or the person adversely possessing the property unilaterally seeks a quiet title action against the property after following the statutes.
I’m having a bit of a problem feeling sorry for a person who inherited a million-dollar piece of real estate in NYC area … and who didn’t pay any attention to it until the wetbacks took it over. Owners need to act responsibly in these areas … remember, we can no longer count on the laws to protect US from either the criminal elements (of which there are legions) or from our own government.
