Change, like death, prompts psychological turmoil. Intellectually, most of us grasp that change is ceaseless, just as most of us realize we’re going to die. Emotionally, however, few embrace the former or accept the latter.

Humanity is in the throes of a change that is reversing a centuries-long trend. Power, in all of its aspects, is migrating downward. This epochal reversal has received scant intellectual recognition. Psychologically, it manifests as panic among the powerful and as newfound assertiveness among the formerly less powerful. It will take decades, perhaps centuries, to fully play out.

America has seen many dangerous and tough times from Her earliest beginnings, and still She stands, perhaps a bit tarnished and worse for wear, but until recently She always remained with our republic intact, regardless of the changes wrought upon Her by the Civil War, two world wars and the civil unrest and upheaval of the anti-war 1960s era. Our republic no longer stands for all practical intents and purposes, and the same government policies and societal mores that have made its demise a reality, after decades of decline and decay and turning away from our better angels, are acting and promising to change America into something unrecognizable as America, no matter what standing law reads or what new “laws” are passed tomorrow.

CELEBRATION OF SQUALOR: 30 Blocks Of Squalor And Government Incompetence

Avalon was able to track down another 30 Blocks of Squalor rant from 2015, posted by David Stockman on his website. This one centers on the incompetence of Philly government drones and corrupt politicians.

There were two accidents on the Schuylkill Expressway last Monday morning. You know what this meant. I had the pleasure of traveling to work on the scenic 30 Blocks of Squalor. The 30 blocks from 69th Street in Upper Darby to 39th Street in West Philly is a tribute to government incompetence, failed government policies, shoddy union labor practices and fiscal mismanagement.

This entire thirty block trek could be completed in 5 to 10 minutes if the hundreds of union government drones in the Philadelphia Streets Department would get off their fat asses and time the lights. The blocks are identical in distance. They don’t need advanced degrees in physics or calculus to set the lights to go green every ten seconds in order. They were timed in the 1970s and 1980s. Would smoothly flowing traffic be such a bad thing? Do they not care or are they really this incompetent? The first light at 61st Street was red when I arrived. It turned green and before you could touch the gas, it immediately turned yellow and red again. I wondered how long they’d allow this to go on. My guess would be days.

Blind justice, disinterested leaders and institutions, tolerance of others, freedom of thought and speech, a Jeffersonian respect for reason and knowledge: Those who come after me will see the imperium’s collapse and will begin the work of restoration, but not I.

So I long assumed. And so does the pace of events suggest I may well be wrong. Things I used to think would take, maybe, 20 years now occur in five or six or seven. If I reckoned some turn of history’s wheel was a decade out, what do you know but that it now seems hard upon us.

Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.

We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.

Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.

We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.

A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.

We have been through an intense, if muffled crisis in the ongoing political-military confrontation between Russia and the West by way of Ukraine. The essence of this crisis is simple: Kiev and its Western supporters have lost the initiative in the Ukraine proxy war and may be on the verge of defeat, as high Western officials increasingly admit.

In response to this self-inflicted quandary, several important Western players have threatened further escalation. Most prominently, Great Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Cameron publicly encouraged Kiev to use British Storm Shadow missiles to strike inside Russia. French President Emmanuel Macron continued to threaten a direct – not covert, as at present – intervention by French, that is, NATO, troops (In addition, an intriguing and much-discussed article reported that a deployment of 1,500 troops from France’s Foreign Legion had already begun. While its sources were hard to assess, its claims appeared too plausible for easy dismissal.)

Originally conceived as a protest to war, Mother’s Day – celebrated in the US on the second Sunday of May – has become a marketing tool to boost consumer spending to give suck to Amazon and FTD florists.

Now that Rosie the Riveter, maker of fighter planes and tanks, is the face of feminism, we tend to forget that many of the early feminists were anti-war activists who had a deep respect for motherhood.

Feminism has been hijacked by politics, and in the US, the great achievements of the Democratic Party – which allegedly cares more about women’s rights than the other half of the Uniparty – has lately won for female kind two weeks of parental leave, better access to daycare, and private breast-pumping spaces.

Your Tax Dollars At Work: In Two Years, $7.5 Billion Has Produced Just 7 EV Charging Stations

When people gripe about paying taxes and the government being a poor the absolute worst possible capital allocation, this is what they are talking about: $7.5 billion in investments for electric vehicles has – in two years – produced just 7 charging stations across four states. 

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, signed by Biden in November 2021, allocated $7.5 billion for EV charging, the Washington Post writes. Of this amount, $5 billion went to states as “formula funding” for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program to establish a network of fast chargers along major highways.

Today, there’s seven chargers with a total of just 38 parking spots. And, come on: when the Post is calling it out, you know the results have been horrible.

I want, heck, need, to see these people destroyed with the heat of a thousand supernovas.

My mother passed away in the first week of March 2020. The Covid Hoax was just beginning to rear its ugly, vile head. I was able to be with her in the Nursing Home as she died, and her funeral that took place before the chatter of locking down; so my rage was tempered by the fortunate timing. 

Everyone that did not have that advantage, and were emotionally crushed by that lack of being able to be with their loved ones as they died will surely understand Sundance’s unforgiving, burning, seething, fury over what was done.
