Omicron Today

Guest Post by Dr. Robert Malone

Below are five articles that stand out as being among the most important regarding Omicron this week.

Epidemiological characterisation of the first 785 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant cases in Denmark, December 2021

Published in: Eurosurveillance  Volume 26, Issue 50, 16/Dec/2021

Denmark, as of December 9, 2021. Denmark has one of the highest RT-PCR testing capacities in the world and screens all positive RT-PCR tests with an Omicron-specific PCR – allowing screening for Omicron.

There have been 785 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant cases identified in Denmark. The earliest Omicron cases in Denmark occurred before South Africa announced the emergence of this variant. Most cases were fully (76%) or booster-vaccinated (7.1%); 34 (4.3%) had a previous SARS-CoV-2 infection. The majority of cases with available information reported symptoms (509/666; 76%) and most were infected in Denmark (588/644; 91%).

One in five cases cannot be linked to previous cases, indicating widespread community transmission.

Nine cases have been hospitalized, one required intensive care and no deaths have been registered.

Exactly Which Dystopian Novel Are We Living In?

Via ZeroHedge

There’s a debate going on among the disaffected/terrified over which dystopian novel we’re now living in.

As John Rubino remarks, some point to social media addiction and designer drugs to suggest Brave New World.

Others see mass surveillance and pandemic lockdowns as putting us squarely in 1984.

Still others cite online censorship and cancel culture as favoring Fahrenheit 451.

Each of these opinions seems valid, which is confusing.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY – Thomas Paine publishes “The American Crisis” – 1776

Via History.com

“These are the times that try men’s souls; the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

Americans Have a Bad Case of Retirement Overconfidence

One of the reasons it’s a good idea to form a solid retirement plan is the uncertainty in the markets. But not just the stock markets…

We’ve witnessed absurd calculations about the returns pensions must generate to meet their funding objectives. Like when they use an absurdly-ambitious 7% (or higher) return on investment, for example. We say “absurdly ambitious” because the latest research indicates the next 10 years of stock market returns will be about 8% below Treasury bond returns, which themselves are already offering an after-inflation negative yield.

Facebook Admits its “Fact Checks” are just opinions

Guest Post by Simon Black

Here’s our Friday roll-up of the most ridiculous stories from around the world that are threats to your liberty, risks to your prosperity… and on occasion, inspiring poetic justice.

Injured on the Commute… While Working From Home?

One major perk of working from home is having no commute.

Well, a shorter commute. You still have to walk from your bed to your desk. And that can be quite dangerous.

A German man was commuting to his downstairs home office when he fell down the stairs, and broke his back.

GOD BLESS POLAND !!

This is just a regyoulah short history post. Did you know Poland saved Europe’s ass from the Mooslims?  I did not.  I do know the Polish folks have awesome food.  Every two weeks I go to  Syrena Polish Deli    to stock up on awesome meats and bakery items. Other than that, my knowledge about Polish history might only fill one typed page.  This makes me an idiot.

Flag of the United States and flag of Poland

Posting this in honor of our own John Pietrusiewicz, and all other TBPers of Polish heritage, which I believe are numerous.  It would be nice if you folks could post other Polish historical stories of interest. I’m sure there are many such stories unbeknown to many of us.

The Power Of Piss

Having posted in the past a few shit articles — I mean, articles about shit — it is only fair to post about piss. Seriously, this may be useful for you gardeners out there! Piss is good fertilizer! Who knew??

Using urine as fertilizer in the garden

The Market For Urine

When I toured the ancient ruins of Pompeii some years ago, one of the sites we visited was a public laundry facility in which patrons used to wash their clothes in – of all things – human urine. The business purchased urine from local residents for use in the shop. While this struck me as rather problematic (wouldn’t the clothes stink later?) apparently the odour was mitigated by drying them on a flat roof in full sunlight.

David Stockman Reveals the Truth About the Stock Market and What it Means for You

Via International Man

Stock Market

The fundamental consequence of 30 years of Fed fueled financial asset inflation is that the prices of stocks and bonds have way overshot the mark.

That’s why what lies ahead is a long stretch of losses and investor disappointment as the fat years give way to the lean.

These will hit hard the bullish investor herd and aggressive buyers of calls who can’t imagine any other state of play. They will be shocked to learn — but only after it is way too late — that the only money to be made during the decades ahead is on the short side of the market by buying puts on any of the big averages: the FANGMAN, S&P 500, NASDAQ 100, the DOW and any number of broad-based ETFs.

The reason is straightforward. The sluggish, debt-ridden Main Street economy has been over-capitalized, and it will take years for company profits and incomes being generated to catch up to currently bloated asset values. Accordingly, even as operating profits struggle to grow, valuation multiples will contract for years to come, owing to steadily rising and normalizing interest rates.

Merck’s New COVID Pill Is a Disaster

Via Mercola

Story at-a-glance

  • An advisory panel to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration voted to grant emergency authorization to Merck’s oral COVID-19 pill molnupiravir (Lagevrio) — by a narrow 13-to-10 margin
  • Among those who received the drug, the rate of all-cause hospitalization or death was 6.8%, compared to 9.7% in the placebo group — a relative risk reduction of just 30%
  • The full data showed more hospital admissions among patients taking molnupiravir (6.2%) than among those taking a placebo (4.7%)
  • Molnupiravir works by triggering mutations that ultimately kill the virus; a risk of cancer and birth defects is possible, and the drug shouldn’t be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women or children
  • By driving mutations but not killing off all of the virus — such as if people don’t take the full course of the drug — new and deadlier variants could be unleashed across the globe
  • The U.S. government is already on the hook for about 3.1 million courses of molnupiravir, which it bought for approximately $2.2 billion

An advisory panel to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration voted to grant emergency authorization to Merck’s oral COVID-19 pill molnupiravir (Lagevrio) — but only by a narrow margin.1 The 13-to-10 vote speaks volumes about the panel’s confidence in the treatment, as do the numerous concerns regarding efficacy and safety voiced by the panel.

Great Britain is in one Hell of a Mess whilst our Leader is off his Trolley and could be Dumped Next Year: Letter from Great Britain [12-18-21

“The Financial Jigsaw” has been serialised here and is replaced by this weekly “Letter from Great Britain.”  NOTEIf anyone would like an electronic copy of the complete book, I should be pleased to email a free PDF on request to: [email protected].

BREAKING: “The Liberal Democrats have won a stunning victory in the North Shropshire by-election, taking what had previously been a safe Conservative seat by a margin of nearly 6,000 votes, and capping a disastrous few weeks for Boris Johnson.”  This is a major blow for BoJo’s leadership: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/dec/17/north-shropshire-byelection

LAST Sunday our madcap leader, Boris, came on TV in the evening to spread fear and frantic calls for everyone to ‘get their Booster shot’.  Omicron, he said, had overtaken the country and this fatal virus will come for all of us unless we obey his commands and knuckle down to the ‘science’ – be worthy citizens for the good of all and keep our failing NHS safe from final collapse. Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard it all before – two years – and no let-up.  For God’s sake I’ve had enough of it already.  I’m sick to the back teeth of these idiots telling me how to live.
